Lin Air Service Co

I was concerned when the technician arrived and did not know how to turn on our Nest thermostat. He and and his helper examined our heat pump system because we were only receiving cold air and no heat. After awhile they came in and told us that it was a problem with the thermostat. Our thermostat was sending a cooling signal to the system and not heat. Since he didn't understand the Nest thermostat I asked what it would cost for him to install a new thermostat with the idea that I would check out the Nest later. This option was above what I wanted to pay so I requested he install an old thermostat we had. He accomplished this quickly and only charged us $80 for the service call. They were very nice and easy to deal with!

Dave came out, found that we needed a new fan motor, but unfortunately he didn't have our model on his truck. He came the next morning with the part and the furnace was back in operation. You always worry about being over-diagnosed or overcharged for these kinds of services, but Dave seemed very honest and professional. We wouldn't hesitate to use Lin Air again.

It was a very nice experience, and I will definitely use LinAir again.

There were enough crew members that did the work so installation was finished in less than three hours.

We have been using them for years and they are an excellent company. They are a family company. I would highly recommend them. Everything is working perfect I have no concerns, or any complaints.

Dave came to our home the morning after I called for help. He wrote the following on the report: "Found downstairs unit with bad outdoor fan motor, run cap for compressor, and breaker for disconnect." Dave returned promptly the following morning with the correct parts. He replaced the motor compressor, run cap and breaker. I'm not sure if the price was fair, because I didn't do any comparison shopping--but he was nice enough to give us a $65 "senior discount."

This was on a Thursday, and the replacement circuit board had to be special ordered from the manufacturer. The service man went out of his way to put a rush on it. On Monday morning, he was back at my house and the problem was fixed.

Dave has been great. We have been using him for four years now and he does a really good job. He does not over charge and he is pretty straightforward. In Las Vegas, you have to have a good running air conditioner or you will die. I will continue to use them.

The provider showed up on time, diagnosed the problem, presented my options, and performed the agreed upon work quickly.

One of our air conditioning units in the attic was leaking condensation water rather than draining it properly. Another air conditioning company had come out previously and stated we needed drain pans. This didn't seem very logical since the unit had only recently stated leaking. The Lin Air office staff set up an appointment for the next day and said they would call about an hour before the tech was scheduled. They actually called before the appointment and said the tech was running a little early. Eliuth, the tech, arrived a little early and we talked about the problem. He almost immediately found the problem. Apparently, part of the condenser unit's sheet metal (a diverter) had not been installed properly, so condensation was being blown out of the pan and then dripping onto the ceiling. The tech fixed this and also retaped everything so connections between the air handler, condenser, and plenum were air tight. He spend over an hour fixing all of these issues. The other air conditioning company had wanted almost $600 to installed 2 drain pans. Lin Air charged $80 to fix the problem. We are very happy with the results and will use Lin Air in the future.

A/C suddenly went out the day before labor day and house temperature rose to 90 degrees. I called a few companies based on Angie's List recommendations. None could come out due to lateness of the day and would not work in the darkness. Lin promised they would send someone out today, on Labor Day, check and repair the A/C. We ended up spending the night in a hotel due to the oppressive heat in the house. I called Lin in the morning to confirm they were sending someone out. Dave called me back soon and we arranged for him to come at about 1:00 pm. I also got another call from a different tech to be sure we were serviced. Dave arrived just as we arrived home and did a thorough check of the system and determined it was the fan motor that had died. he had a replacement motor on his truck and in 30 minutes had it running. He rechecked the system and assured that the electricity and Freon pressure was ok and checked the vent temperatures to be sure we were getting good cold air. He was in and out in less than an hour with an excellent job done. He was very professional and fully cleaned up after himself. The cost was reasonable and much less than I paid for a similar problem a few years ago. The 10% Angie's List discount was a bonus. All in all I can highly recommend Lin without reservation.

We chose Lin Aire after meeting with 4 contractors. Lin Aire was professional, prompt, and did quality work. We were happy with their price and their work. Definitely recommend them.

Mom's HVAC died on a very cold day in January. Lin-Aire came when they said they would, explained what the options were, treated my mother with sensitivity and respect, and left the place clean on the way out. Mom is an elderly widow. Dad used to handle all of the maintenance and repairs, so she feels really vulnerable when dealing with contractors and service providers. It was a real relief to her to deal with Lin-Aire. It is not easy to win her confidence, but Lin-Aire was able to do so, and did not disappoint. Their follow-up service has also been excellent. They take the time to explain things to her and do not brush off her concerns or become impatient. [Notes: (1) I did not rate price because, to my way of thinking, an "excellent" price is a bargain price - wherein one pays less for the product than it was worth. But for necessities such as HVAC, I am not interested in a bargain price - I want a reasonable price, one which properly compensates the contractor and yet does not overcharge the customer. A reasonable price is often referred to as a "fair" price, but for purposes of the rating system, "fair" has a different, misleading, implication. (2) Installation performed in a couple of hours in January. In June they came out to inspect the AC, make sure there would be no problems before the heat of summer set in.]

I unfortunately neglected to write my review until now, almost a year later. We were extremely pleased with Lin-Air. It was during a very hot period weather-wise in August of 2012 and they very quickly and efficiently changed out the old unit and replaced it with a new, far more efficient one. They provided a 10 year transferable warranty which we feel is very valuable if one plans on selling their home. The unit has operated perfectly in the year since it was installed. The personnel were clean, efficient and we would definitely use them again. I don't recall the exact amount we paid for the unit - however, in speaking with other people who replaced their own units within a few months of our replacement - we paid a very fair price.

Service man was polite, professional, punctual.

I called at 7:30 am and he arrived at 9:30 am to replace a part and add Freon to the unit. He spent over an hour checking over the unit to see it was working properly. He was efficient and very thorough. Since the temp. was in the 105 degree range I felt fortunate I could get anybody to come out the same day. I attempted to give him an extra tip for the great service but he said no thank you and refused the tip.

Staff was quick and courteous. Quote was fair and at no charge.

I have used Lin Air previously, about three years ago to do a minor repair on the unit. Since I am out of state, it was important to me to use a very reputable compnay and I found Lin Air on Angie's List. I was very happy with the prompt service and the ease of communication and transaction considering I was out of state. Earlier this month, the unit, about 20+ years old, wheezed its last breath. Initially, it was thought it was roof damage due to leaking water coming through the ceiling of a bedroom after a storm. Roofer came, and told us that it was not the roof but the a/c unit that was leaking from the crawl space. Called Lin Air and they sent a guy out to do a temporary repair until they could get a full crew to complete the job quickly due to the heat and temperature in the attic. Brent was great, he helped open up a hole in the ceiling to drain the standing water so that it wouldn't continue to drip on the carpeted floor. Nicest thing too was that he sent me pictures on my phone so that I could see the extent of the damage on the ceiling, it was great! There was no pressure pitch to buy the most expensive model, he quoted me a model that would replaced the one I had there. Communication was top notch, I was called and kept informed the entire time, and the office staff was very accommodating to email me my invoice and receipt. It went so smoothly and the tenant was happy with how quickly they were in and out of her home. I would definitely recommend them and would call them again should I need their services. That's the great thing about Angie's List when you live out of town, you rely on reviews and honesty of folks to find the best service, and Lin Air was able to provide me great service and peace of mind. Brent estimated price, installation schedule. No exceptions, the work was done as estimated. There were no ups in prices, or baiting and switching. There was one aesthetic plumbing item that we wanted changed. An appointment was sett, the work was done, as agreed. We have had no problems what so ever with the equipment, or the install. I would recommend this company, and AmericanAir conditioners to anyone interest in a system that just plain does what it is adverttised to do. We researched and took estimates from several companies. These gus came out with no B.S. their work speaks for them. In todays world, I would grade them AAA! Ask for Brent. He is all business. He wants happy6 customers. His work says so. Bottom Line: This unit works far better than the original install. We bought the house new in 1989.

Brent and the LinAir crew did a wonderful job! They were on time, efficient and tidy. I envisioned hours and hours without air, but they were done in record time. The units are working perfectly, and I'm breathing a sigh of relief (our compressors were 21 years old at the time of replacement).

They installed a high efficency A/C unit. I called Dave and he came the next day and was very very pleasant. He kept me informed as to what was going on with the unit on the roof. They also gave me a discount for being Angie's list member. They were quick and were able to install the unit the next day. Brent was also excellent to work with and kept me informed as to what was going on.

Before I started talking to potential providers, I did research on A/C units, including Consumer Reports and reading every Angie's List A/C provider review. I spoke with approximately 15 different providers to determine who would get my business. Some were eliminated quickly due to poor customer service, inability to call back within a reasonable amount of time, excessive cost, and/or giving inaccurate information. I continued to pare down my options. From the beginning, Brent (Lin Air) took all my calls, always called back promptly, showed up on time (as did his crew), and offered an excellent price. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and generous with sharing related A/C information. He even offered me an additional discount if I could wait a week for installation as it was July and he was swamped. My A/C unit was 37 years old. While the gas heating still worked, the electric A/C did not and I had been using an evaporative cooler for the last three years. I definitely needed a new, more efficient system. I was hesitant to open my first electric bill after installation of the new unit, but was pleasantly surprised at the amount as it was well under $200 and this was for the hottest month of the year. I got an excellent unit at an excellent price. This is a terrific company! Thank you, thank you Brent and Lin Air!!!I
