Description of Work: After having been nearly ripped off by a company I had dealt with for over three years, (company changed ownership), I contacted Lin Air to verify if what the company I had had a business relationship in the past with, said was true. This was a service call just for an AC check-up, I was having no problems what-so-ever. The previous company stated that I had black hair tangled in my outer coils and that it had brown sludge on it, also I was told if I joined their club I would get my service for half off. My Carrier unit is only four years of age and I never had such a poor review for my unit. I called Lin Aire because I have learned enough living in Vegas, that you verify. I figured since the other company gave me a free estimate, I would just go ahead and pay Lin Air the $65.00 fee to find out if I could still trust my other company. The tech came out, very prompt and professional. Checked out my unit and told me that it was all aces. No need for coolant, nothing, everything looked good. As a result of this I will always utilize Lin Air. They tell the truth and provide excellent service. Thank you Lin Air for doing your job and doing it well!

Description of Work: Lance of Lin-Air was the on-site supervisor for my job. I had two problems 1) the 20 year old air handler in the attic had quit moving air due to either/or a circuit board or broken fan motor, 2) the outside condenser was over 15 years old, a SEER of 10' and a few times a year would trip the circuit breaker. He explained all the options from repair, partial component replacement, or total system replacement. I decided to do a total replacement and happy that I did. Now I have a reliable new system that cools well and has a 10 year guarantee on parts and labor. This was the second job that Lance and Lin-Air has completed on my HVAC. Other other was a different system on which he replaced the outside condenser. Both jobs were performed professionally, on time, and according to the estimate. Thanks!

Description of Work: We have dealt with Lin-Air since we first moved into our home, in January of 1978. They were the recommended company of for servicing the air conditioning system originally installed on our new home. When it came time to replace the old unit, we purchased a new unit from Lin-Air, and they have done the inspection and service work on it as well. We have always been thoroughly pleased with Lin-Air, from the friendly voice on the phone when we call them, to "Dave", Lin-Air's service/repair man who has always been courteous, efficient, and we certainly trust him. I seriously doubt that our relationship with Lin-Air will ever change. Why should it? In a word, "If it aint' broke, don't fix it."

Description of Work: Sometimes you meet business people out there that restore your faith in humanity - Brent from Lin Air Service is that type of business person. Backstory - late last week I received a phone solicitation from Nevada Home Comfort LLC for a "service" of my AC unit for $20. Now I know that didn't sound right (you really cant expect to get much "service" for $20), but I figured it couldn't hurt to have my unit checked out. They came out on Saturday and reviewed my unit outside and up in the crawl space - there was no service. They claimed i had a couple of capacitors going bad and although my system was working fine - they attempted to sell me a very expensive service contract. I told the guy we would think it over and get back to him - he said, rather prophetically, you will be calling me back. We left for some afternoon activities and when we returned our AC was not working at all for the first time in 10 years. "You will be calling me back"....well I didn't call them back, I called Lin Air Service who came out as soon as possible and inspected the unit in the crawl space and discovered the door on the unit had not been replaced correctly shutting the unit down. Brent was nice enough not to charge me for his time and had my unit working in fine condition right away. Thanks!!

Description of Work: We wanted to find out the best way to aircondition our garage. Brent came out and looked at all possibilities and explained the pros and cons of each. He was very through and honest with reference to their work if we were to use their services. We decided to use a portable unit after hearing him explain all options . We will. use LIN AIR for any work in the future

Description of Work: I called about non functioning unit for upstairs. Called company and they said they would have someone out the next day. They tell you they will call when a technician is on the way. That works ok, but it kind of feels like you are in limbo land waiting for the call. I understand why they do this though but maybe they can make a follow up call to give a time estimate. It really wasn't a long wait, always before 12p.m., so that is good. The repair person checked the unit, and it was working, so he said to check it when it went out to see if the fan was going and said to call back. He said he didn't want to charge me for work when it wasn't apparent what the problem was. He said it could be the fan motor. He checked the freon in the unit and said it was good. He washed my units off for me and did not charge for the call and would not take a tip. The unit subsequently went out again, I checked the fan and it was not working. When I called back it was a week later due to my schedule, they came the next day about 12:00. He said the fan motor was out and gave me the cost, also because we were an Angie's list members I got 10 % off. He replaced the motor and checked both units for the freon and said the back pressure was good. It only took about 45 minutes. It was a good experience, did not feel like I was taken advantage of. Great help.

Description of Work: Had an entire splint system replaced in my home. Not only did they replace the system but they replace all the duct work and old wiring form the old system at no extra charge! I had multiple estimates-all from Angie's A listers. Lin Air wasn't the lowest bidder but Brent's knowledge , professionalism and confidence is what sold me. The work was completed in less than 5 hours. A few days after that I was messing around with the thermostat and the a/c didn't come on. I called Brent-he was out the next day and found the problem. These days you just don't find customer service like that. The warranty is superb 10yrs parts and labor as well. I would recommend Lin Air to anyone who wishes to buy a new a/c unit. It's not just about the a/c unit but the contractor that installs it!

Description of Work: I called for a sales visit/ estimate for a new furnace and air conditioner and I started with who I felt was the highest rated by other members and also printed up the next 2 highest rated. I had used Lin-air for a service maintence call the previous year and was satisfied. My call was promptly handled and the sales rep called back shortly and set up an appointment for the next day. He came,answered my questions,addressed my concerns, quoted me a price, took off $500 for being with Angie's List. I was going to talk to and get quotes from 3 providers but I knew his quote was excellent and he also provided a no cost a 10 year warrenty for both parts and labor from American Standard. Rather than go on with the planned process I told him to go ahead and install a totally new system to replace my 23 year old original equipment that was still working. I sheduled for installation 10 days latter. The installers came as scheduled on time with the sales rep/owner , started installation and were finished in 3 1/2 hours, worked hard and steady, and cleaned up the work site unbelievably well. The owner tested out the installation after inspecting it,had them make a few adjustments, showed me how to program the new controls, got paid and left. They were great and I intend to use them for annual service maintence of the system.

Description of Work: I used Lin Air Service Co on the 8th of December. I had troubles with my air-conditioner in the summer, so I called them to come and check it to start up. They also found some problems and I would schedule them later in the year when it gets warmer to fix it.

Description of Work: i seldom give an "A" rating across the board but Brent and Lin Air deserve it. One of the AC units was not cooling as it should. I called Lin Air Wed night and got the answering service. I was told to expect a call the next day. I got that call the next morning and explained the situation. There were no appointments available until the following Tues which made sense because it got hot over night it seems. I got a call about an hour later and was told a tech was in the area and had time to check it out. It was 9:30a and I had about 30 minutes before leaving for work. Brent showed up a few minutes later, diagnosed the problem, cleaned the condenser coils, recharged the unit which was low on freon and was gone all before 10a. I highly recommend Brent and Lin Air.

Description of Work: Have used this company previously on our 30+ year old heating/ac unit. A/C not working when it got warm a few weeks ago. Expected to hear that we finally needed to buy a new unit. Instead was told that it was merely a plug that had been disconnected. Quick and easy fix. No charge from the company. Will absolutedly use them again. Have recommended them to family members who have had similar experiences.

Description of Work: The filter contract with this company is one of the best bargains I have obtained. As the result of having this contract which changes my filters quarterly and does annual checkups, I called them to check out my air conditioner which was not cooling. They responded immediately and the sales person told me what was wrong and how to handle it when I called my home warranty company. Much to my surprise, I did not have to pay a service call fee and the warranty company responded immediately and replaced the motor. No mess-No fuss.

Description of Work: This is a terrific company. We had new 2 heating units and 2 new A/C installed. Lance was so professional and helpful in answering our questions. This truly is the best of a family owned business. Workers came on time on the day requested and quickly went to work. The work progressed nicely and the clean up was outstanding. We had one call back to help us learn more about our system and we are thrilled with the A/C and the way it cools our house. Very attentive company

Description of Work: Dave came out as scheduled, inspected our two air conditioners/furnaces, recommended replacing two connectors (we lived here 4.5 years and never had our system inspected or serviced) did the work in a very professional fashion.
