I took my computer in and had to wait while one of the workers was talking on his cell phone about concert tickets. After the worker hung up I was told that they would look at my computer and give me a diagnosis. If they did not do the work I would be charged a 80.00 diagnosis fee. When I called back the following day, I was told that my power supply was fried and would have to be replaced. I was told that it would take approximately a week and would cost approximately 239.00. The worker seemed surprised when I told him to go ahead and do the work. After about a week I called to check the status and was told that my part had not yet come in, but that when it did come in, it would be completed that day with no problem. I called back two days later and was told that my part had just arrived that day but could not be installed until the following day. When I called back the next day I was informed that my computer was in pieces and was a rather difficult install. Finally, my computer was done and I picked it up. When I opened the computer I found that there was a difference in the two parts and some of the plugs in the new part were not plugged in. However the computer does work fine. Also, I was minus a power cord as they neglected to return the one I had dropped off with the computer. All in all the work took approximately two weeks rather than the one week estimate.
Description of Work: My desk top computer needed a new power supply.

My laptop computer's power input began to not work properly. I explained what the issue to the people at laptop exchange. A week went buy and I heard nothing from them. When I called I was told that they were busy and that I should wait to hear from them. After the second week went by with no words from them, I decided to go to the shop and take my laptop back. On the way to the shop, they called me and said that my computer was ready for pickup. When I arrived, I was informed that my laptop's motherboard was "fried" and that there were no replacement parts available. I went home and was able to locate a replacement motherboard for my laptop in about 20 minutes. Also, I took the laptop to another shop and they were able to repair the jack without replacing the motherboard. Basically, this company charged me $60 to hold my laptop for two weeks and not accomplish anything.
Description of Work: Very poorly performed laptop computer power jack diagnostics.
