About us

Kemet Electric is an owner operated company. I Kamau Bakari will personally be on each job at your service. You will have 30 years of my electric expertise and 17 years of owning and operating Kemet Electric. I have extensive experience of working closely with interior designers/decorators. For example centering chandeliers over tables, installing new sconces, also centering vanity lights over sinks. With my stock of large ladders I can install on 20 foot ceilings. Description of Work: Had a fan/light combo installed with a new light switch under my patio awning on a fan beam in the structure. Kemet and assistant had to drill holes into patio fan beam and house, run electrical wiring through the patio into the house, and run electrical to new light switch. At first I thought the cost was kind of high, but after seeing all the work and trouble they went through to do the installation, I realized that this rate was very reasonable. They did a splendid job of cleaning up. (FYI - They don't do patch up work where they cut into the sheet rock in the house to locate and run the wiring. Had this done by another person.)

Description of Work: Great company. Some times Kamau is late,but he is worth waiting for. The reason he is late is because he takes his time with his customers and don't rush to go to the next job, like some do. When he gets to your home, he will take the time with you also, and do a good job. |I will not use any other electrician from now on.

Description of Work: He removed and installed a ceiling fan. Then he checked the wiring on 2 more ceiling fans to ensure their working properly. One ceiling fan had to be rewired since we lost the remote and needed to have it work from the wall switch. Very satisfied with the work and professionalism.

He and his worker showed up on time. He explained things to me. I was disappointed that they did not clean up after themselves. Also, the quote they gave me for additional work. Replacement of electrical panel was very high compared to other companies.

I was happy with this company. They showed up on time and finished the work fast. They were done in 30 to 45 minutes. When I called to schedule the appointment, they were able to come out the very next day to do the work. The electrician was very professional and did clean up the areas he was working in very well.
