As I mentioned above it was only a phone call but he saved me money and I learned something in case it happens again.

Kemet Electric responded and came the following day. He had all his equipment as I greeted him at the door and got immediately to work on the ceiling fan. He found that whomever installed the original equipment had done a very shoddy job (even putting part of it up in an inverted manner). The fan and light were in great, proper working order when he left. I'll use him again for sure. Great, outgoing personality too.

I needed an electrical outlet moved, vanity light switched out, and overhead light installed. Kamau gave me quotes for each, gave me various options for moving the outlet, and was very knowledgeable about fixing the problems. He worked quickly and professionally, putting down tarp so as not to get my carpet dirty. I thought his prices were very reasonable. I would use him again for future electrical needs.

They arrived on time and were very courteous. He originally thought it was something he could walk me through over the phone but it was a bit more. The work was done quickly since he had all the supplies with him.

I had an electrical circuit in my shop go 'dead' and I needed to get it repaired in order to continue working. I called emet and he responded that afternoon. He got the circuit up and running and came back the next day to replace a fixture (at no extra charge) to insure tht the circuit wouldn't fail again in the future. If you have an electrical problem - Kemet is the company to call. I know the price of most electricians and I believe that the savinbs I received more that paid for my subscription to Angie's List. Mr. Bakari removed my old mechanical thermostat and replaced it with a digital one I had previously purchased. He labeled the wires in the wall as he disconnected the old thermostat to make sure they were hooked up correctly to the new one. He made sure the new thermostat was level and tight, which is very important to the functionality of the thermostat. I was very pleased to finally have the job done and done right. Mr. Bakari was pleasant and knowledgable. I will call him again if I need more electrical work done. I was given a $20.00 discount from an online coupon that I printed off Angie's list.

I emailed Kemet through Angie's List over the weekend and Kamau responded by phone Monday morning. He came by that afternoon. I had failed to mention I live in a manufactured home. He doesn't work on this type of furnace. Still, he came in, had a look, confirmed I had power, and referred me to someone who ultimately referred me to the specialist I'm now using. Kamau was extremely upbeat, punctual, and professional. He didn't charge me a dime for his time. I would whole-heatedly recommend him, and hope to use his services in the future.

Requested estimate for addiional circuits in garage and service connected to casita. Kamau was prompt, professional and seemed definitely up to the task. Thouroughly examined the area to work in and gave an estimate in a prompt manner. Did not use him as estimate was quite high compared to others. Would give him consideration on any future work though.

The job went really well. Kamau showed up on the same day I called him to install the chandelier. Work was down quickly and efficiently and for a great price of $65. Job took about 90 minutes and the chandelier looks great. I purchased a home 6+ months ago and plan on using Kamau for all my electrical needs. I am very happy to have found an honest, trustworthy, and affordable electrician!

I found Kemet Electric on Angie's List. I am very glad that I went with them to do the electrical work I needed for a house I recently purchased. Kamau is a very nice guy and very knowledgeable about his trade. His prices are very fair. The quality of work performed was excellent.

Kamau responded promptly to our call for estimate on electrical work. He took his time to inspect the electrical system to determine the possible effective way to do the work for a reasonable price. During the process, he discovered some original installations were done in violation to electrical code, he explained it to us in detail, and made the corrections without asking for extra fees. We were impressed by his honesty and excellent business attitude.

Would use for any further work

A less scrupulous contractor could have billed me for a visit and even unnecessary replacement parts.

He was a little late getting started but one he got underway the work was done quickly. A line had to be run from the main box to the laundry room. This is a two story house and he could not get in between the floors. He ran conduit that can hardly be seen. Over all I would use this company again, I was completly satisfied.

We just moved into this house in June. Once here we discovered to our horror that the 2nd bedroom and living room did not have cable TV outlets. Since we had never encountered this situation we asked the real estate agent about it. She told us that when these homes were built the original purchaser had to specify where they wanted cable outlets. The homes only came standard with outlets in the family room and master bedroom. (Yikes!) Called Cox cable. Their "standard" install crew arrived and told us they only add new cable by running them "outside the house", necessitating the drilling of holes through the outside walls. Since we had encountered this at our previous house and it always angered me I declined that installation. They recommended trying to find an electrician willing to run new cable through the attic but cautioned it would be difficult to find someone willing to do it. So I called Kemet Electric. Kamau answered. Very nice. Said he would stop by later that day to check things out. Kamau showed up as promised, looked at the situation and said he would be willing to do it. I didn't ask for an estimate and he didn't offer one. I really didn't care, I just wanted it done. He did say it would depend on how long it takes. He said he would call us later in the week when he had a break in his schedule. 4 days later Kamau called, said he could do it that day, I said fine. Kamau arrived ready to work. Due to the way the house is constructed it didn't look like he could access the area he needed by going into the attic through the existing attic access point. He ended up having to cut an access hole in the ceiling in a bathroom adjacent to where he needed to work. I don't know how but he squeezed through that tiny hole. Of course Kamau had to deputize me to be his assistant to catch the dumb end of the fish chain as he dropped it down inside the walls from the attic. (LOL) We got it done in about 5 hours. I should mention that his drywall repair guy charged an add'l $160 to repair the hole in the ceiling. That cost is not reflected in the cost I listed for Kamau's job. But he did a fabulous job, can't even tell there was anything done there. The second job in August involved fixing some ceiling lights that didn't work. As I mentioned above, we just moved into this house and there are several wall switches that don't seem to do anything and we can't figure it out. I'm pretty good at electrical stuff and at tracking down problems but this house is beyond my ability. Anyway, Kamau came over, started with the basics, also tried to figure out what all the immediate switches were for. He discovered that one of the mystery switches went to a decommissioned circuit for "previously existing" ceiling lights over the kitchen island. (geesh, you'd think that when someone decommissions an electric circuit they would have the courtesy to label the wires in the switch boxes, but they didn't, so I did) Moving on, Kamau discovered that the neutral wires grouped with a wire nut at one of the fixtures were loose. Then using a special tool he traced the wiring to the corresponding wall switch (yes another one of the mystery switches that didn't do anything). Upon pulling that switch out of the wall Kamau discovered that one of the wires was not fully engaged into the back of the switch. He installed a new switch (that I already had just in case) and fixed the wires in the ceiling fixture and voila! working lights. Yea! Then when we thought he was done, my wife asked Kamau if he could move the ceiling box for the hanging fixture over the breakfast table. He said......sure. So onto an unplanned job. Took about an hour to move the fixture about 15 inches. But it was kind of an eyesore. The previous owners had simply "swagged" the hanging light over to where it was centered over the table. Now it looks right, just a hanging fixture, straight down, no swag. Wife is happy and life is good. Off the subject but just info for future readers. I was amused by the "C" review here where the reviewer says Kamau talks and complains too much. Be aware, Kamau is a talker. If you choose to remain within ear shot while he is working he will engage you in good natured banter. If you don't want to talk to him, don't hang around. He's a good guy, knowledgeable, professional and fair. He labeled me as a "hopeless cynic". LOL I highly recommend Kemet Electric for any electrical job.

Kamau answered the phone himself, which I thought was totally refreshing! He asked a few questions and said he would be over later that day to give me an estimate. He came as promised, and gave me an estimate of $350. The next morning he was here early and ready to work! He was above and beyond professional. He gave us advice about other electrical issues, and also mounted our transformer, even though that wasn't in the estimate. He wasn't going to charge us anything extra for what amounted to at least a bare minimum of 1 hour extra spent consulting and installing the transformer, but I insisted he get paid for his time. Even at that, he only took an extra $25. I would recommend this company whole-heartedly! Great service, great price, and great quality! AAAA+

I called Kamau because I appreciated him helping me in the past when I called him and he helped me troubleshoot over the phone without charging anything. Rarely does anyone do that these days, and I appreciated his honesty and willingness to help, instead of just coming to do a service call and charge me for something that could be fixed in 5 minutes. My previous issues were fixed by the GFI, but my latest ones weren't and we couldn't figure them out, suspecting some other problems with the wiring, especially because some of the switches in the house are odd (too far away from the door) and probably additions. When I called him, he was just getting done with a current job, and said that he could be here in an hour. He was prompt and was in my door an hour after, and we went straight to work right away. He was nice, informative, and although made me feel foolish about how simple most of my issues were, he did a pretty good job. He also gave me an Angie's List discount ($20 off). Now I'm glad that I didn't buy any of the $99 Big Deals, because I got him for a cheaper price, and faster too. Had I bought a Big Deal, they wouldn't have been able to be here right away because they would have been fully booked with a lot of other appointments, as which is usually the case for those companies with coupons. Had I bought a Big Deal, it would also have been a waste because my problem wasn't worth 2 hours. Next time I'm having problems, I'll call him again, and I'd be recommending him to our friends too. Called about service failure in bathrooms. Diagnosed problem over phone and told how to fix or check for real problem. Very professional and not just out to make quick buck for 5 minute service call.

Had a circuit that tripped and wouldn't reset. This was on a Friday afternoon.I didn't want to go the entire weekend without having this taken care of.Kamou was the first person to respond to me and was able to come out within a few hours...he was prompt courteous and did an excellent job. I definitely would use him again, and highly recommend his services.

He fixed my problem over the phone. He told me how to reset my electrical system and what button to press. It worked, it was great! I wasn't even charged. The solution given over the phone worked temporarily, but after it kept occuring, I had him out to readdress the situation. He came out right away and solved the problem by replacing an electrical component. I was really happy with his services and I would recommend him. He didn't charge me until he actually came out.
