JJ's Handyman Service

I have used Jung aka JJ twice for bathroom work: 1) Vanity and sink installation for half bathroom downstairs and 2) Upstairs sink stopper re-adjustment and slow leak (under the sink) for upstairs bathroom. However, there were issues with the second work. He quoted me $220 for a simple sink stopper realignment, new drain (costs $5 at Home Depot), and leak repair. Fine. However, he did NOT fix the leak. Water continued to drip under the sink for 2 weeks after he said he fixed it. He did come by once during those 2 weeks and said it was just something he needed to "tighten". That was not the case as the leak persisted. I called JJ again on 10/3 to let him know. I sent him pictures and we confirmed that a rusted valve needed to be replaced. Great. So he quoted me another $110 to have it repaired. Really JJ?! Absolutely NOT right to charge a client more money when it wasn't even fixed the first time. Especially after we both specified what needed to be done and the amount that was agreed upon. He said it's because he needed to buy a different part which (he confirmed) was only $10 at the store. I told him I shouldn't be paying anything more since the repair wasn't done the FIRST time. However, I told JJ that I can pay $10 for the part and he said no. And we bickered back and forth and settled on $60 for him to fix this leak. But after giving it some thought, I will spend the $10 on the part and go on YouTube and figure it out myself. This is a very unfortunate situation because I wanted to continue to use him for other bathroom projects. However, I REFUSE to be taken advantage of. I might not know a lot about plumbing, but I know enough and I definitely know when I'm being hustled. Scamming a client for MORE money after NOT fixing it right the first time, is BAD business. Very unprofessional and unethical. I would have not expected this considering all of the 5-star reviews on here. Do not mistake my kindness and soft spoken voice as weakness JJ. UPDATE: I texted JJ and he told me to f-off. Attached is a photo of his response. I leave this review to warn others that it could also happen to you!

NO SHOWS MULTIPLE TIMES WITH POOR EXCUSES! We made an appointment. The fix was being done on a door on a work vehicle. We explained this and made an appointment in the morning. (We closed business for that time). We lost business at that time. He no showed!!! After multiple texts and calls he finally answers and says, oh I have a full time job, I sent someone to you but I guess he didn't come. He said he would come in evening. He showed up & we were waiting for employee to come back. (We had a late day due to the late start waiting for him in the morning) He said he would run to store and come back. He never came back. He texted saying tomorrow would be better. We told him as long as its evening. He said he would be here. He even felt the need to state its my word.., If i say I'll be there I will. Well he never showed up. Texted and called multiple times. He finally replied saying.. I work a union job, we have to reschedule. He knew that we scheduled around work & cost us businesses. He must of known he had another job to work.. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!!

Excellent contractor. Worked very hard to meet our expectations. A very fair, ethical person!

Communications were excellent. On time throughout the process. Workmanship was excellent. Plan on hiring him again in the spring.

His favorite expression is "It doesn't matter." He still insisted he be paid in full for a job that had to be entirely redone. The concept of craftsmanship is lost on this guy. He knows nothing about carpentry. Knows how to destroy material, that's about it. Spend the money, hire someone who knows what they're doing. The high rating he got from other customers amazes me after seeing the botched mess he made of this simple project. He asked $300, which was a bit high, to put up one 12 foot board. He still wanted payment in full for this disaster! I paid him $200. I regret paying him anything. Don't let this guy on your property!

JJ is terrific- he is punctual and works until the job is done. High quality work with attention to detail, and all work was completed on time. We have used him before and will definitely call him for any future projects.

First contact said they would be there Thursday or Friday, didn't call to give us which day, we called them and they agreed to be here on a Tuesday at 9:00am, never showed up and never called to say they would not be here. We finally called them and they indicated that they were on a job and didn't get paid until they completed it and the customer wanted more things done. They said they would be here Thursday at 9:00am, never showed, never called us, we called an hour later and they said their son was sick so they wouldn't be there. Would NEVER hire-NOT DEPENDABLE/POOR, POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES

JJ was terrific. His workmanship was good. He stayed late to make sure things were completed on time. We would definitely use him again.

JJ texted me ahead of time that he was going to be late, which was very considerate. He did a very good job of replacing the old weather stripping. Hopefully, it will prevent future leaking; but I won't know for sure, until we get some heavy rain. JJ did a nice job of cleaning up after himself.

It went very well. He was finished in under an hour and everything was just perfect. He also discovered a valve that was bad and about to pop. I appreciated the fact that he took the time to check for potential problems. He's prompt and very courteous and cleans up after the work. I really liked him.

Excellent. We had a half dozen things o do on our bathroom remodels and needed someone who can do it all --so we called JJ Handyman. Julio provided me with a written estimate and a few days later, he and his crew arrived right on time and did an excellent job re-texturing the walls of both bathrooms. They also painted both including touching up ceiling, installed the vanity and plumbing, upgraded a switch and an outlet, installed a heavy mirror, ...and miscellaneous detail work. They kept everything cleaned and organized too. Everything was done to very high degree of quality at a reasonable cost. Very satisfied and highly recommended.

They did a fine job. They did what they said they were going to do and when they said they were going to do it. The guy did a good job. It was a good price. They came when they said they were going to come.

I was very pleased with the outcome and quality of work in electrically, plumbing and drywall modifications. Julio employs excellent staff who, for the most part, did the work with his supervision. He obviously is very busy and was called away to other jobs during the three day project, but returned as promised. Bottom line, I was very happy with the outcome! and will definitely call him again for future needs.

He had good reviews, was prompt and explained what he needed to do. He was quick and he did good work. The overall experience with him was average. No one else returned my call and so I don't really have anything to compare his prices to.

.As I mentioned above, it went very well from the time I called him until the work was finished. He worked in a timely manner and answered any questions I had. I felt very confident in the work he did.

He did a good job. He did all right.

There were a couple of things that were maybe a "B". Each job was different. The wall is spectacular and the price was very good. I always price out his jobs so I'll always considering them for a bid in the future.
