 + 0 moreThe only problem I had was that when he left the site, his workers did not speak English and that aggravated me. We had a contract for five fertilization treatments and he has a couple more to do. He charges me $50 or $60 a trip. He is the general foreman and can be running several projects at a time.
Description of Work: I used Jeff's Lawn & Landscaping to take out the grass and put in a desert. He also does the fertilization for all the plants every three months.

 + 1 moreI was disappointed with them. The guy from the company came out and walked around to have a look at my yard. He measured everything and told me that he would come back to give me an estimate. He came back after measuring and told me how much it was going to cost. He told me what he is going to need to put on weed block. I never saw him again and I never got a written estimate. He wasn?t professional since he never came back to give me a written estimate. I wasn?t impressed with his professionalism at all. My overall experience with him was very poor.
Description of Work: Jeff's Lawn & Landscaping came out in the beginning of the month to give me an estimate for lawn and yard work. It also included some landscaping work as well as fixing my water system.

 + 1 moreHe answered my calls immediately and brought the crew right over. He had his own truck and hauled away the debris. Even the neighbor was impressed that he he didn't just dump the waste on the property. I have referred him to my neighbors and I will call him again this spring.

 + -1 moreWe have desert landscaping. We don?t have grass. They trim the trees and clean up the debris that falls. The price was fair. They had to come back and do a narrow piece on one side of the house. They came back and did it. They came here quite quickly. They came at the scheduled time.

Jim's landscaping experience is great but most commendable for his respect of his workers and vice-versa. We are most pleased with the results.
Description of Work: work on the lawn conversion commenced with the removal of the existing sod- lawn. some surface roots of two large trees were removed and the ground prepared for the conversion to desert landscaping. The area was prepared with basic sand to create interesting areas before plants , rocks and boulders were placed. Drip irrigation and fertilizer ez-flow elements replaced .

 + -1 moreI liked them. It was a sprinkler repair so we had already done some work like cleaning the ground around the sprinkler. He seemed fair. He showed up on time. This is the first time we are getting this kind of work done so we are not sure if the price was appropriate. They were fair. Perhaps it could have been cheaper. I feel people here overcharge a little.

 + -1 moreAfter seeing this contractor's reviews I left a message requesting an estimate on 7-15 and later that evening received two calls from Rick. The first call referred to another customer and the second was an apology for the mix up and was given a cel number to call to set up the appointment. I spoke with Rick on 7-16 and set an appointment for 9:30 on 7-22. I was very specific about the time and date as I would need to take the morning off from work to meet with Rick. After waiting until10:30 I finally decided that Rick was a "no call/no show" and headed into work. I verified with the front gate that Rick, or anyone, from Jeff's Lawn & Landscaping ever showed up and I have not heard back from them. Business must be good to blow off potential customers this way.
Description of Work: Wanted an estimate for landscaping maintenance (leaves cleaned, weeds pulled, sprinklers adjusted and trees/bushes trimmed as necessary) on a monthly or weekly basis.

 + -1 moreI called for an estimate on a new irrigation system, tree removal, new lights, and synthetic grass installation after reading many positive posts on Angie's List. They promptly set-up an appointment and Jimmy was thorough when discussing what would need to be done and gave me a verbal estimate of apprx. $4700 (this was $1700 over the other 5 estimates I received). However, he said he would email me a hard copy so that I could review it in order to make my selection of a landscaper...the email never came nor any type of follow up. As a potential customer, I should not have to chase down contractors just to get an estimate. I went with another company and am pleased!
Description of Work: Estimate for new irrigation system, lights, tree removal, and installation of synthetic grass.

 + -1 moreWonderful! My drip system was installed last spring. I have no complaints. Recently, I had new trees planted in my yard. Suddenly there is a flood by the new trees and I suspected the nursery breached the drip system when the trees were planted. I called Jeff's and left a voice message. My call was returned almost instantly. Tim agreed to come to my house on his day off (Saturday) and inspected the system. He stated the system was not breached, but the wrong drips were installed on the new trees thereby making the system ineffective and creating the flood. There was no charge for Tim to come inspect. The service is prompt, (extremely prompt), professional and this is a company I will continue to use and endorse.

When I called to find out where they were, I did get a professional and expedient response as to why they were late and when they would be here. The workers were friendly and did everything I asked them to. I did have to remind them to check the sprinkler heads and to complete a couple things that they had started but forgot to finish. I think they were rushing to get back on schedule. The yard looks beautiful! I am pleased.
Description of Work: The yard was being overgrown by weeds. They pulled them rather than sprayed them. I appreciated that because I was having a party in 2 days. They trimmed the bushes and checked the sprinkler heads.

Tim who supervised the work did a great job. I have already recommended these guys to others and would do so again.

 + 0 moreThey spend about three to four hours of work each time they come out. They do a lot of clearing. They are good people. The come when they say that they are going to come. They do a beautiful job.
Description of Work: They come to my house and they maintain my palm trees, they regravel when necessary, they cut back the desert tolerant plants, they refill the automatic fertilizer system, they check and replace any broken or clogged irrigation heads, and they trim my mesquite trees.

The work included killing the grass roots, installing weed tarp, replacing the sod with approximately 8 tons decomposed granite, 10-1 gallon and 3-5 gallon plants, and 6 400-500# boulders. Work also included reworking the existing irrigation system to include new valves and an extensive bubbler/plant watering system. All work was done to comply with the LVVWD "Water Smart" program.

Work took 2 days.The crew was superb. They were very attentive to detail. Workmanship was exceptional. One thing that I thought was especially workable was the use of jack hammer to dig new holes for plants. They reraked the front & back yards after each detail. The stones were to 3 inches (req. is 2). The work was lawn conversion under water authority. I had my inspection of the completed work yesterday & I passed. I was told I'd get the letter in about a week & the check for grass removal after that. They checked back with me & some of the plants weren't doing so well. They replaced with different plants at no cost to me. They do excellent follow up I just call them & let them know what's going on & they come out within a few days. Felt free to ask questions.
Description of Work: Removed approximately 600 sq ft of grass in front & backyard to include approx 600 sq ft of desert rose rock & nine bushes not compatible with desert conversion & desert friendly plantings.They raked the area under the removed sod so it was free of stones & old tree roots.The ground was made smooth.They put back 2-15 gallon trees(Med fan palm & Texas Mountain Laurel)12-5 gallon plants,8-1 gallon plants(trailing laurel,penstemon,rebird of paradise,rosemary,red yucca & dwarf mock orange).They redid all irrigation lines to remaining plants & additions(buried lines).Added approx 4 tons of silt to create mounds in front (2)& back (1)yards.Added app.15 tons of rock(2 colors creating contrast & island affect)& 6 300-800 pound boulders,partially buried.Added an EZ-FLO Fertilizing system so plants are fertilized when watered.The final cost was a bit higher because the original est. didn't include fertilizing system.They drew up a plan & presented it to me for my approval & recommendations.
