Did repairs on toilets in 10 minutes. No more running.. Attempted to find leak in sink, wasn't there. Great service.

They also conducted a full inspection of the house plumbing system in a professional manner. So far so good. Then the "hard sell" began. I was quoted prices for repairs that were 200-300 percent of what a reasonable price would be--such as replacing my leaking garbage disposal for $500. That is a job that should cost around $150. Hawthorne could make alot more money if they quoted reasonable prices instead of making me feel like I was in an auto showroom with a car salesman. I hope they read this review and change their approach, because Keegan. their salesman-plumber was polite and professional--but hard sell tactics and overpricing will never work with me.

Purchased coupon for $49 for $150 of plumbing. Called because toilet was stopping up and running slow. Dennis snaked the toilet and pulled out a bunch of roots. He removed the toilet and cleaned the line further. There were roots wrapped around the seal. After cleaning the roots he replaced the toilet with a double wax ring in order to seal it tightly. Dennis was great, very prompt and really knew what he was doing. Will definitely use again.

My first replacement a year ago went very smoothly. Service was scheduled for the following day and finished in a few hours. The most recent replacement was performed by a different technician. Service was scheduled for the same day. He was initially here to trouble shoot a repair from the previous week that did not help save the unit as we had hoped. This replacement took a bit longer then my previous replacement as he had to return to the shop for supplies he did not have on the truck. The tech was authorized to reduce the cost of the replacement by a few hundred dollars (approximately 1/2 of repair bill) due to the failed attempt to baby along the old unit only a week prior, which helped a little. Currently awaiting building inspection to complete the job. I have used Hawthorne for four years now. I have had annual a/c, furnace, and plumbing inspections. Our home was a foreclosure so we were not sure how well maintained the major systems were. The technicians that come to my home are in uniform and are neat and clean. They are respectful of my home, always wearing boot covers on their shoes even when I say it is not necessary. Dealing with the office is also very professional. I have, on two occasions, phoned before 'normal' office hours and been greeted by a friendly voice. I believe they have an answering service for after hours. On these occasions, the office returned my call promptly and scheduled same day service. I feel they may be a little pricey, however, I have not shopped around. I was originally referred to Hawthorne by our home warranty company shortly after moving in. I have continued with them and not shopped around based on their overall service. Why mess with a good thing!

I felt very overwhelmed by Angels fast talking, high pressure sales tactics. Not to mention extremely high price quotes. He had also attempted to call in a third party to dry the area of dry wall under the heater that had leaked. The other party was calling me while he was still there and trying to get my homeowners insurance involved. Very unpleasant. Needless to say I had Home Depot install a brand new water heater with full warranty for less than 1/3 of what these guys wanted to charge me. BTW, the drywall area under the heater was just fine and did not need some specialized outfit to come over and dry it.

Appointments made, first time called and told the technician was coming and then manager called and said part hadn't arrive due to snow in the East. Made second date and waited again and received a call to state the part had still not arrived. Made a third appointment. The technicians were to arrive between 9 to 11. They arrived at around 11 and left at 12:30 to get a part, came back an hour later (think it was lunch time) and finished around 2:45. When I went to walk the dog at 8:00 that night I heard water running - the technicians had left the front yard water spicket(?) running and my front yard was flooded. Good thing I have a dog to walk or water would have been running all night. Good news is when the technician came the first time to install the structured water unit the cost was over $1,000 and when they returned to remove the structured water unit because it wasn't as I had hoped, they installed a new water softening unit, they came be credit on my final bill.

On time for his appointment, checked everything out and kept us informed as he went.

The response was immediate and professional. The tank was replaced and I purchased a longer term insurance that I would have little trouble in the next few years. The service was expensive, so, If price is the most important thing, go elsewhere.

Scheduling went fine. They were able to come out within a day or two of purchasing the Big Deal. We used them again. We replaced the floors in our bathroom and had to take up the toilet. We hired them back to re-install the toilet at a discounted amount. They were great to work with.

They were great! We have a home warranty and they fixed the problem we had with a leaking sink. However, we knew we had a water leak somewhere. He came in and immediately said it wasn?t in the house. He went outside and found it was a pipe going from the street to our house on our side of the property. He quoted us a price to resolve the plumbing. They had to get certificates from the city, dug the trenches, fixed the problem, and put the dirt back. They were very professional, prompt, and nice. They were even dressed well, even when they were digging the trench!

The work turned out great. Dennis was very helpful, personable, and it was a very good experience.

The work turned out fine. He came when he said he would be here and he called in advanced. He was very polite, checked everything, and said not to worry because everything was alright. They didn't find anything wrong and said it was in good shape. I was very satisfied.

They did a fine job! The water softener is in and we are happy with it. They were here and did there work and we were happy with them.

I was given a window of 8am-11pm for arrival on an estimate. He finally showed up at 11:40am. I let him know he was late and he said he was told he had a larger window. I showed him the shower head I wanted raised and he said that they could do it. I had bought a new shower head and handle at Lowes. When he went on to say how they would replace it he said that they would leave some of the old parts... which confused me because I had the new parts in the box. He gave me an estimate of $395. When I asked when the job could be done he said I would have to call the office because it wouldn't be him doing the work... OK no problem. My problem was when it came time to pay for the service call. I was told on the phone it would be $60 to have someone come out to give me an estimate. BUT I could print out a $50 coupon from there website so I would only pay $9. When I gave him the coupon he said he couldn't take it. So just be careful because Angie's list does say that they provide free estimates. I went with someone else who did the job right after giving me the estimate, was half the price and went above and beyond to explain what the other guy failed to explain to me about my parts. Saving me over $100 for my shower head.

Although he was late through no fault of of his, once he was here his work was exceptional. He explained everything and did neat work in a timely fashion. He also flushed my water heater. I was more than happy with his work. A part still under warranty had to be ordered from manufacturer so he will be returning to finish remainder of job. As you can see I had extensive problems. I would highly recommend this co.

They are clean and their workmanship is wonderful. We've never had a problem with any of the gentleman that have come. They are very reliable.

Replaced the old flipper and inspected the other three in my house. Excellent job

While attempting a diy faucet replacement in the kitchen, my husband broke the water stop on one of the water lines. We had the water main off and were without water on a late Saturday afternoon. We called Hawthorne and left a message on the after hours line. Our call was returned within 15 minutes and the gal said someone would be out within the hour. 45 minutes later Jim Davis came out and went to work. He was extremely knowledgeable and did the repair of the water stop and faucet replacement in a timely manner. By that evening we were back in business. The price was very reasonable considering it was after normal business hours. And we are very happy with the process. I would definitely recommend Hawthorne for future plumbing needs and will call them first before attempting any repairs myself.

They came in and did several things that were satisfactory. They did give an estimate to replace the inside of a toilet and the estimate was outrageous. I let them know I could get a very expensive toilet for less than what they were quoting for the repair. The work that he did was fine but the estimate was way out of line. The service was worth the coupon price. He was clueless on what to do with the second toilet.

As I said before not well, no one wants to feel they are being taken advantaged of .

Got prompt response on phone and quick service (less than an hour from my call to serviceman arriving at door.) Service professional was friendly and helpful. The job was done super fast. The company offered a maintenance contract that gives discounts on their various services and makes their jobs more affordable. I know I'll be dealing with them in the future, because I opted to take their maintenance plan.

Service person was on time and very personable. We discussed options and price. When the decision was made, the service person begin work immediately. He was quite meticulous, explained what was going on and responded to several questions. When the job was finished, he made sure the area was clean and we spent some time discussing follow-up regarding draining the water heater. Very pleased with everything and will use this company again.

They were on time and very professional. Only did what was needed. I would recommended them and I will use them again. They called before they came and were always on time. I did have a problem with a leak and they came over as soon as they were done with the job they were on. I really appreciated that.
