Guru Crew Las Vegas Computer Repair

I had a coupon for this business and it got good reviews on Yahoo. My daughter had broken the power jack in her laptop and it no longer would charge. I dropped it off on Friday the 3rd and explained that it would not charge and left them with the computer. I explained that I was also leaving the power cord we used to power it when it was working, but that we had a different charger we used to charge it since not all cords work with this model. They called Saturday night to tell me it just needed a new jack and it would cost $80 for the repair with my coupon. I picked it up on Sunday and it looked good. I went to charge the battery when I got it home and the charging cord did not fit with the new jack. They had replaced the jack with a more universal jack. This does not work with my charge cord. When I called them they stated that they did not know that it wasn't the same jack. The original was so damaged they could not tell it was a different shape. I asked why they did not look up the model number to get the right jack and they responded by saying you couldn't always tell by the model number. I am not sure I believe that as they also said the octagonal jack shape that I had was very hard to get. My husband looked on the internet and this jack could be found multiple places. The person I talked to offered to swap my power cord for a different one that fit, but I explained that we use that cord for two laptops and the other one needs this cord too. He told me he could swap my cord for one that would work with both computers, but I did not trust him and also did not want to swap my fairly new cord for a used one that may not be in as good shape. The work was done quickly and the computer works again, I just am disappointed they could not do it professionally using proper equipment.
