1) The job was started on 02/21/2014 and finished on 05/23/2014 which was supposed to be completed before 03/20/2014 as I and my wife planned to leave the country for vacation. 2) My daughter C's e-mails to GreenCare's G. when I and my wife were abroad: Good Morning G., Thank you so much for getting back to me. Best regards to the foreman and his family. Please let me know once you find out the dates. I hope to see the finished backyard sooner rather than later, I thought this was only going to take two weeks. I understand that the materials can take a while to arrive but it would be nice if you could keep us in the loop of what?s going on in stead of abandoning the project without any notice. Thank you. Good day. C. On Apr 15, 2014, at 6:26 AM, Gxxx@greencare.net> wrote: HI C., sorry its taken so long for me to get back to you. The foreman we had managing your project had a family emergency in Mexico, he has yet to return so I will be scheduling a replacement foreman to take over the job, one that is familiar with water features as the previous foreman, he is a bit busy at the moment but he will be freed up soon and we will assign the balance of the project to him, I should be able to give you a date by this afternoon or tomorrow. Thanks for your patience. I was wondering when are you coming back to finish this wonderful work? Best,C. 3) My last e-mail on 05/28/2014 to GeenCare's G. and he never replied. Dear G., No sleeve installed at the edge of the pool. H. just embedded the cable permanently and he said it's easy to pull the cable out of the cement. The pool is finally completed although the cement finish is not as neat as the steps which were completed in March. My wife is not so happy about the exposed water pump and cable. I have to find something to cover them. Anyway, we have a pool and can hear soothing water flow sound. Thanks! I need some instructions on maintenance and cleaning of the water pump and filters. Some tasks not yet done which you promised on Feb. 25 when we went over the plan with J.: 1) Two sockets. Now there are two pipes in backyard stick out about 6" above the ground; 2) Some complementary plants you showed me on Feb. 22, like Angelita Daisy and Red Mexican Bird of Paradise which can bloom nearly all year round; 3) Install a light on patio ceiling. Thank you very much for taking care of this. Have a nice day, Gxxx@greencare.net> Sent: Fri, May 23, 2014 6:22 am H. is a very intelligent man, im sure that the duct will have a sleeve installed so the cable wont be permanently embedded in the cement, to be sure I will check with him. G. On Thu, May 22, 2014 at 1:46 PM, Hi G., Yesterday H. and I discussed the alternative of the location of the pump which will be placed under the step. He said a duct will be cut through the edge of the pool to let the pump cable pass, then cover it with cement and paint. My concern is the duct should be large enough to let the cable plug pass through so when replace a new pump, no need to cut the edge of the pool again. Hope you know what I mean. Have a nice one, 4) I waited and waited for the reply from G. but I got none. My wife said,"Forget it, you have already paid the balance." 5) When I handed the balance check to H. on 05/23/2014, he wanted me to check the questionnaires that "yes" or "no" for satisfaction with the job and recommendations to others. At that time, everything seemed good except for the delay, so I checked both for "yes". I regretted that immediately when G. did not rely my e-mail. 6) Just two months after the water feature pool started working, the canister filter of the pool burst and water flooded. I had to stop the pump and no idea what to do because the canister was squeezed underneath the fountain head which was impossible to reach. On 07/28/2014, I called Mr. Paul Des Roches who is an expert on biological filtration system, like koi pond. He gave me a free advice that the canister should be thrown away for it's useless. At that time, Paul introduced Angie's List to me. On 08/12/2014, Canyon Plumbing came to redo the piping under the fountain head and threw away the canister filter. They asked, "Who did this plumbing?" On 10/25/2014, when I and my wife were abroad, my son found the water leveler of the pool pump was broken and water nearly overflew the pool. He had to shut off the water and stop the pump for us. 7) If not for the delay and the problems with the water feature, I would give an "A" for the plants, lighting, river rocks and concrete steps. The layout looks nice. What disappointed me is that G. did not reply my e-mail on 05/28/2014 and never says, "Hi" or "Everything OK with you backyard?" in six months. What about after service? I am willing to pay. A company can still profit from maintenance and after service. Can't it? 8) My wife urged me to write this because she doesn't want somebody to get misled about my "yes" on the questionnaires.

Greencare is absolutely incredible! They built a beautiful pool, patio cover, outdoor kitchen and absolutely amazing landscape at our new home in Las Vegas. They bent over backwards to make us happy. I read the other reviews and Greencare has obviously made some changes. Jeremy designed an amazing plan at a fair price. During the process Lorraine in the front office kept us up to speed on everything. We received several emails along the way from Kristina with a tremendous amount of information to keep us prepared for each step. We spoke with Tim one of the owners a few times during construction and he is a get it done kind of guy. Be prepared he is to the point but we liked it. Every time we spoke he got it handled quickly. If I could award 10 stars I would. Companies like Greencare make me realize service like this is extremely rare. To say this is as "good as it gets" is truly an understatement. Before signing with Greencare, my husband and I spoke with Desert springs, Blue Haven, Living Waters and Laguna. Within 30 minutes of meeting Jeremy (one of the designers at Greencare) we were sold. Our neighbor used Greencare for their pool also but they met with a guy named Brandon (They initially referred us and said he was great too). Jeremy came by the house, took measurements, and designed 3D as well as an overhead with schematics, incorporating features we hadn't even considered. I know most pool builders use similar software these days but other companies took weeks to get back to us and their designs looked boring and outdated compared to what Jeremy came up with. He listened to our concerns, wants and needs and ultimately designed a beautiful pool that went above and beyond our wishes while still meeting our budget. I think the thing I appreciated the most was Jeremy?s willingness to let us know if he thought some of our choices would present problems rather than just let us decide without input and possibly wind up unhappy....for instance, we initially had our hearts set on a certain plaster color but Jeremy mentioned that he thought it may be too dark for our tastes....after looking over samples and extensive online research we realized he was right. Also telling: our other next door neighbor is in the process of planning a pool and they have an incredibly detailed and fantastic architect's design. They met with other companies and apparently Greencare is who they are moving forward with as well. To sum up Greencare: The level of attention to detail was incredible; the time quote was initially 6 to 8 weeks (we were swimming exactly 43 days after the first dig day), initially Jeremy said it may take longer so the speed they did it in was great! We received weekly updates, up-front and completely honest feedback, and any questions were answered within minutes. We felt incredibly comfortable throughout the entire process and will recommend Greencare to any family member, friend or neighbor in the future without hesitation. They've been around for a long time and truly care about their customers. Our pool is everything we wanted and more. It looks even better than we imagined! Jeremy, Lorraine, Kristina, Tim and everyone else at Greencare that made our dreams a reality as well as an intimidating process easy, fun and budget-friendly - How could anyone ever ask for more than this? Thank you ALL! :)

First off, Greencare was GREAT!! This was my husband’s 2nd house, but my first house so you can imagine how crazy I was to find a company to give me exactly what I wanted. I wanted my backyard to be a place that we could relax in. This backyard had to be perfect. It had to be a place where my mother, who was diagnosed with cancer, could be able to relax and enjoy her surroundings. This was very important to us. I myself am in the business industry so I know how people are more likely to leave a negative review more often than a positive one. I researched several different companies on yelp that had high ratings and low ratings. I picked out 3 different companies that stood out and my husband and I met with them several times so we could make the right decision. They were all great companies but only one stood out as the deciding factor for me. Jeremy with Greencare took it upon himself to ask if he could meet with my mother and ask her opinion of how she envisioned her paradise. I was sold right there. We decided to go with a pool, a patio cover and landscaping (which my mother had her ideas incorporated). The plans looked great and I was so excited to get this project going. It took a little longer than we thought to finish the backyard due to weather but we understood. Everything came out looking phenomenal. I can't believe that one day I was looking at dirt and now I can walk around on the nice looking pavers I picked out. I really have no complaints. A few plants had to be replaced but Greencare to care of it all. I have to apologize to Greencare for being a crazy woman during the process but I wanted this backyard to be perfect for us, especially for my mother. We have shade to relax in, an absolutely beautiful pool to cool off in and beautiful landscaping to look at every day. Our yard turned out exactly how we wanted it and I praise Jeremy and Greencare for making it happen for my family. Thank you Greencare!!!

Greencare did an amazing job on our project. It took just over 3 months and that was the projected time frame. We have a large corner lot. We built an amazing pool spa BBQ and landscaping. The crew was outstanding, the staff was amazing, we had a few hiccups along the way but they were right on top of it. I own a construction company in California and small little things that happen along the way are part of the construction process. All of these other reviews I don't understand? I read your reviews and it actually says you're happy with the work but there was little things that frustrated you along the way. Don't little things frustrate you at your job in your position at work everyday? I cant believe these reviews when this poor company is good hard working guys. Your review will stay up forever folks, this company seems to be working hard every single day and making themselves better. They have actually done three other homes on my street and I know the people personally. They will also be leaving positive reviews for this company the owner pointed out that everyone seems to leave negative reviews when he has a tremendous amount of happy customers. Nobody seems to be positive about hard work anymore. I'm sure all of you people are enjoying your beautiful yards yet this negative review just sits on Angie's List forever and ever for the the company to deal with. Just think about it before you leave such a nasty review people. Call Tim or John before you do, they are the owners and I know Fernando has since been fired. Don't hold an entire company responsible for one employee. I know Greencare made some major changes to ensure good customer service recently. I highly recommend the company. These other reviews are not what they are about. I know they do a large volume of business. They are one of the largest companies in Las Vegas, so again I highly recommend them. Call Tim or John before you leave a negative review, they are the two owners. They are just a couple of hard working family guys.

Greencares initial presentation convinced us to choose their company despite being a much higher bid. They convinced us that their work would be better, would all be done according to code, and that they stand by their work and make sure it is done right. Well, we clearly made a mistake trusting them. We agreed to terms in late October and made our initial payment. The workers arrived in an acceptable amount of time to begin work and to their credit were very friendly and appeared to be hard workers. We did have a language barrier and at times it was hard to make sure we were on the same page as their was no real oversight given to the crew and they just followed what they felt the plan asked of them. Initially they did not place pavers in all the areas we asked. We contacted Jeremy, who sold us the plan, and he corrected them and they returned and added the pavers as was initially agreed. Next, they told us they were done and we asked about the lighting we were to have. They said they were not told about any lighting. Jeremy again had to be contacted and the workers again had to return to add something that was origianally promised. Then the real fun began. We were also to have a fire pit built. The workers came to build the pit and seemed confused on what we wanted. We eventually came to an understanding and they began work. When they said they were done, it was not what we had paid to be done. We again contacted Jeramy and again the workers had to return and make changes. Eventually they finished and said they were done but we had nothing built inside the pit to protect the stone pavers. Jeramy eventually arranged for the inserts to be provided and at long last, after several months we appeared to have the mission accomplished. Soon thereafter, we received a visit from Mountains Edge and they informed us that our firepit was not in code! This really got us upset, as doing the job right and in code was one of their big selling points. We contacted Jeramy and he said this was typical and that they would talk with them and it was probably just a matter of a minor change to satisfy them and that we would still be okay. While Jeramy had to constantly send back workers, and it did drag out the process, he did seem to follow up. However, Jeramy seems to have disappeared and Gary has taken over his duties. There was no minor adjustment to be made. The entire fire pit had to be removed, and sadly it was the main focus of our decision to have landscaping done! They were able to work out still having a fire pit, but the replacemant pit was no longer able to be round as we had ordered and was going to be quite a bit smaller. It took a long time to get a crew out to do the work. They eventually built a fire pit and left but once again did not provide an insert to protect the pavers and did not provide a grill on top to keep us in code. The firepit also has pretty big creases where the stones don't line up very well that we mentioned but had no response given to our concern. We contacted Gary about the inserts, which entailed multiple attempts to get a response, and he eventually arranged to have someone provide the insert and grill. When that worker had finished, we saw that he had only provided an insert at the bottom. We then had to once again discuss what was origianlly agreed upon and even showed pictures of the previous firepit and explained that was what we expected for an insert and grill. He said he understood and eventually returned and placed in our already much smaller fire pit an even smaller insert that has shrunk our firepit to the point it is all but useless. We had previously informed Gary we were at the point of being through with the mistakes and ridiculous wait times and that we would begin voicing our displeasure if things were not finally done right. Well, we texted Gary one final time to let him know that once again they had not given us what was expected and were still not happy. We can understand the change in size, but have no idea why they could not copy the previous insert that we really liked, which did not shrink the size of the fire pit. Anyhow, no repsonse from Gary regarding our text about a month ago so now we have decided to let people know what they can expect. This simple job ran from late October until mid July and is still not done correct! They are polite when you finally get a hold of them to speak to them, but they simply don't follow up and don't communicate or oversee their workers to ensure they are doing the job properly. I don't recall the last time I have ever taken the time to voice my displeasure regarding a job someone has done, but I almost feel others deserve to know that what you get in your sales pitch is not what you get in reality. Maybe at some point they will contact us and resolve our concern. If they do I will sing a different tune, but as of now I'm done trying to contact them and will simply let my review and word of mouth do what it can to either prompt them to do better, or help customers know that they are better served going with another company. Greencare has failed us to this point and doesn't seem concerned now that they have our money.
Description of Work: Added pavers, shrubs and trees, lighting, and a fire pit.
Description of Work: We started the project in February and it took them 7 months to complete the job. We called various people in the company, including the main guys multiple times. We god lots of promises and little response. The pool equipment was supposed to go on the side of the house. We came home and it was installed in the back. The pool guy explained it wouldn't fit, hence the D for professionalism. The superintendent said they would adjust the raised wall out to accommodate. They did not. They installed a wall brick that was not what we ordered. They tried to do the same with the pavers and we refused. It took a month to finally get the ones we wanted. They claimed they were not being made. We did a little digging and found them at Star Nursery. They said they would hide the pool equipment with plants. It took over a year for the little plants they put in to even begin to cover anything. We finally bought and installed our own. |The final outcome was a descent, but the headaches were not worth it. I would never use them again. |I don't expect perfection. I was a supervisor and understand unexpected delays, but this was ridiculous.

My husband and I recently contracted with your company to landscape our back yard. You were recently out to our house and spoke with my husband regarding your company's services. I believe he told you we were happy with the work but not the service your project manager Fernando provided. He told me that you said to let you know if we had any further problems with anything that your company did. I was so close to letting things ride and simply say that we were very happy with the results. So close! But once again, Fernando, has undermined the good name your company has obviously worked so hard to build. Our yard was finally finished, last week, after numerous bumps in the road and we were really quite pleased with the results. Unfortunately, one of our brand spanking new Malibu lights blew out right before my eyes the first night they were lit. This in itself was, unfortunate, but being a savvy consumer, I realize that quality control in many factories that make these things might not quite meet superior standards and sometimes there can be a faulty light. The light is not my issue. Once again it is the standard of your employee, Fernando, I am calling into question here. Carlos, the superintendent of our job, was excellent and a fine ambassador for your company. He was polite, courteous and punctual when he could be. He told us if we had any problems, to simply call the office and we would be taken care of. That is what I did. I called twice and left both my cell and land line numbers on your message machine Thursday, the 22nd and asked to have my calls returned. Obviously, no one was there to answer the phone, hence, messages left. We waited all day for a return phone call. With no results. (This was not the first time this had happened to us, I might add. This happened several times during the course of our interaction with your company.) Finally, I called again Friday morning and low and behold, Tania actually answered the phone! I am afraid, I may have been a bit short with her and mentioned the fact that apparently she REALLY DID NOT like to return phone calls. At which point she asked if I had called before! Really!? Does your message machine not take messages? Or do people not retrieve them from it? Or is it simply, they do not return the calls the messages represent? After trying to explain my issue to her I was put on hold for awhile and suddenly, Fernando, not Tania, answered the phone. I had already made it quite clear that I wanted nothing more to do with communicating with Fernando on our last conversation. But here he was, graciously asking me what he could do to help me. Well at that point, I simply wanted to get a new light replaced and told Fernando about it. He said, and quot;Oh, sure, we can take care of that for you.and quot; and quot;Carlos cannot come out tomorrow, but I will put it on 'the board' for Monday. Would that be alright?and quot; At which point I made sure he was talking about the 27th, which he assured me it was. Silly me, I never figured he meant June 27th since we were currently in the month of May and the following Monday would be May 27th. As it turned out May 27th was the Memorial Holiday and since Carlos did not show up, I simply figured it was an oversight on both of our parts. So I figured he would be asked to come out Tuesday. But no! No one has come out and it is now almost Wednesday afternoon. Have we recieved a phone call, e-mail, snail mail or even a smoke signal from your office, Gary? Why no of course not. I am once again taking the initiative to try and simply get a light replaced. Apparently, it is too much to ask of Fernando and your company to do. I will replace the light myself, once I figure out how to do it and then do as I had originally had planned and that is simply to put the word out to everyone I know to send their business elsewhere. That is, unless they like being treated like some kind of sub human being. And to think I paid for this treatment. And on time too! And the checks didn't bounce when they were cashed either. I never figured myself to be a masochist but we do learn new things about ourselves every day. I guess I like using the rest of my retirement savings on abuse. Who'd a figured. Gary, how long do you wait for a phone call to be returned when you need/want something done? How long should someone have to wait? I am just asking, since I am from another generation. It seems in today's day and age it is fine to just leave people hanging as though they had no lives. I have three small dogs that like to greet people when they come in our house or back yard. They also like to run out the doors and gates if they are inadvertantly left open. It is of concern to me if someone should come out when my husband or I are not at home to be sure the dogs and the visitors are safe. With the number of cell phones available in any situation I cannot see there would be any problem with returning phone calls or calling to reschedule appointments. Am I asking too much? My husband has been newly diagnosed with Cancer. We have several doctor appointments and Cancer treatments we schedule over time. We have even changed appointments to be here for your people. Who, by the way, did not show up the entire day and never called that day, as well. He does not need to be stressing over discourteousness, while he is stressing over his life. Don't you agree? Oscar, your cement/concrete person showed up one day to check out what he needed to do and told us he was going to have to let Fernando know about the extra dirt that had to be taken away before he could do his part of the job. We never heard anything back from anybody, until I finally got hold of Fernando, THREE days later. At that time he told me he would send out people to take the dirt away. Would he simply have gone on indeterminately keeping us on hold if I had not called? He seemed to act like he had just found out about the issue. Really, no communication between your own people, as well? As I said in the beginning, I was just about to let sleeping dogs lie until......no call, no show, no communication, no NOTHING! AGAIN?!?! I would think, as bad as the economy is and with as many people needing, wanting or hoping to hold on to their jobs, a company like yours would want to know how you are being percieved by the clients you serve. I know I would want to know, because, I would want my company to grow and be successful for many years to come. You obviously have excellent people working for you. Fernando is a fine landscape designer. Perhaps you should consider having him do what he does well and leave the managing of the jobs to someone who can do that part of the job as well as he designs.
Description of Work: The following is a letter I sent to one of the Director of operations of GreenCare. I think it about says all it has to about this company and their performance. The yard is beautiful now but what a horrible way to run a business. And guess what? Although we did finally get someone out to replace the light...., I have had no response at all from the Director of Operations. But then again, what did I think was going to happen?

New garden landscaping was required. These guys came over quickly and worked with me well initially to give me a plan that I liked. Unfortunately the quality of plants chosen was poor and it took almost 12 weeks to finish. They kept making mistakes with the pave stones for the patio. A couple of smaller trees broke in wind due to the poor way in which they were staked. This could have been a great company to work with, but ultimately I feel let down by the quality of work, the timely feedback and the stupid mistakes that were constantly made. Having said this I am happy with the result, even if it took so long to finish.

We had our backyard completely done from dirt to finish. We got grass, pavers, and plants/trees put in. The crew that did the work was efficient and friendly and completed the job on schedule. After completion, we found little things that needed to be corrected and called to have them fixed. It felt like since we had already given 90% of the money, we were last on the list. He said he would be out to look at it next week(which never happened). When people were finally scheduled to come out, and I had to call to see where they were (as the sun was going down)and I got am and quot;oh, they'll be there tomorrow.and quot; When I tell someone that has given me $10,000 that I will be somewhere on a day, (a week after we asked for it to be fixed), I will be there-or I will call to say I won't. Why did I have to call them? It's common courtesy, and good business. There were also a couple if things that turned out not looking the way we wanted. In the beginning, it was agreed that we would pick certain things out, such as the plants and the style of gate. Those things just showed up without our approval. Not bad enough to change, considering we were tired of the whole process, but still insulting to tell us we will choose it together and then do the opposite. In the end, it looks ok, but the whole process was one that made me remember why I dislike having work done on the house and have a general distaste for contractors.
Greencare Lawn Care does a nice job of keeping my desert landscaping looking nice. I have a few trees, lots of foliage and shrubbery that they keep trimmed on a regular monthly basis. I also have an area in the back where a lot of weeds come through the rocks and they keep the weeds trimmed up very nicely. The service people are professional, punctual and do a great job of my yard.
