The owner and his assistant arrived on time, advised me of the condition of my roof and additional costs for services I might want to get. I agreed to those services and they worked tirelessly to complete them. Their demeanor was professional, the work was done neatly and well. We have no pigeons on our roof and our roof no longer rains down "poop" whenever there is wind or rain. We have far less pigeons around our house than our neighbors, and have not seen one on our roof since Goldstar. We are very pleased with the service and the cost. I downgraded to a B for cost because the "deal" should include those services and a higher price to begin with, rather than the upsell after the roof inspection.

They are very responsive and were on time. They guarantee their work and came back to make sure everything was done correctly. They were a very good company to deal with. The technician, Eric was very, very professional and responsive.

We had solar water heating panels mounted on our roof about 16-months ago. Recently we noticed pigeons hanging around our home and suspected they were nesting under the panels. We spoke with several providers but felt most comfortable with Eric Stolz, the owner of Goldstar Services, who agreed to come out, review our situation, and provide us with an estimate. Offers to fix our problem ranged from a low of $250 to a high of $1300. Eric's proposal came in at $325 but it was his approach to the problem that sold us. He was very understanding of the need to not affect the warranty of the solar system while also installing matching color pigeon-proof screening around the perimeter and between the panels. He also observed the deteriorating condition of the insulation covering the exterior solar panel plumbing and offered to replace the entire network. He arrived at the scheduled time and proceeded to remove the pigeon nesting materials and debris from under the panels. This turned out to be a major undertaking as there were sensor wires underneath the panels and the construction of our roof tiles meant there were eight separate channels that needed to be cleaned. Eric was very thorough and with a combination of probes and water pressure was able to clean out an amazing amount of debris. He packaged up the debris and then began the process of installing the screening around the perimeter of the panels. No easy job as he had to also contend with the plumbing that surrounded two sides of the panels. Since he couldn't attach the screening directly to the panels he fashioned hooks that securely grabbed the cement roofing tiles and used clear silica gel. Once finished with the perimeter he fashioned screening that fit between the top side gap of the two panels so that birds could not gain access to the underside. Next he removed the now decomposing pipe insulation and installed new coverings with tie wraps around the external tubing. I supplied the materials which were very inexpensive. The job turned out beautifully and the system, screening and all, looks very professional. All together the job started around 9:15am and lasted to around 2pm. Nothing was more gratifying then later that afternoon when two of the former residents returned to find that their home was now permanently closed. They've left and we now consider the problem solved.

They were amazing. Cleaned up my roof and kept the pigeons away. Glad the kid is light weight too. I highly recommend them. I was charged $500 for the same work that they did for $99. I already referred them two of my friends. They are great.

Provider didn't think it was important to let me know he wasn't going to show up today to perform agreed upon work. He knew i was specifically taking off work to meet him at the house. I'm active duty military, I don't have time to keep doing this. He initially showed up on Friday 10/25 (late), I needed additional work done beyond the coupon value and we agreed upon a price, however, he didn't bother doing any of the 'coupon' work that day either.

Very well. The materials used by the company are barely noticeable. The company was professional about the cleaning, the time it took, and the clean up. The only issue was when we tried to contact them after the service they never responded to us.

Eric and his employee were personable and IMO did a great job. Everything was nice and clean and professionally installed. Area after the work was left nice and clean as well. I would use them again!

Eric sent message 2 days after purchasing to sent up appt the following week. Appt was scheduled for 1-3pm. By 230 i had not heard from him so i had to call him. Stated he was running behind, that is understandable but he should have called to let me know since i had told him i wouldn't be home from 3-345. He said I didn't need to be there, he would call if he had any questions once he was there. I was back by 330 and home until 515 and he still had not shown up. I told him there were 2 problem areas-an eave by satellite dish and the rocks around the pool. He did show up some time after 515pm when i was gone. He put wiring up on the eave and cleaned under but did nothing in the backyard-no pressure wash or suggestions. What he did do seems good but he did not complete the job. Also did not like no communication that he was running so late and came when i was not home.

The experience with Goldstar Services was a generally positive one. We chose Goldstar Services because they provided the most reasonable cost estimate and seemed very knowledgable about the issues we wanted addressed. Prior reviews were accurate regarding the timeliness of appointments but this was not a major deterrent to us as one or more adults are typically home during the day. The job was completed professionally and we no longer have a pigeon problem. We are pleased with the results.

I wasn't in town when he performed his services but when I returned I noticed the pigeons were no longer nesting on my roof. I have only seen a few pigeons come back since his services.

Goldstar Services sanitized and power washed all areas affected by the pigeons. They also put things in place so they do not return. My neighbor across the street witnessed the great work they had done and hired them on the spot. If you are having problems with pigeons please call Goldstar Services. They are very professional. GREAT COMPANY!!!

After multiple calls the provider came and scheduled to complete the work the next day. Nobody showed up to perform any work.

I was absolutely thrilled with the work of Eric and Sergio (his assistant).They both have very strong work ethics (kind of hard to find in this day and age) and were both very professional and yet very personable and fun to be around. Although not part of the job, they did extras like pressure washing my eaves, garage door and windows. ERIC IS THE KING OF ANIMAL CONTROL!!!

The service was fine. I have not seen a pigeon since then. There was no extra charge and they were out the next day after we purchased the coupon. They were very good. I surely would use them again in the future.

I wanted someone to come out the same day and another company I'd called referred me to him. When he'd called back, I'd already set up service with someone else, but he was very polite and said he hoped I'd consider using his company in the future. That was nice to hear instead of a curt, "Ok thanks. Click."

Placed spikes on the areas where pigeon's were sitting and wired off nesting areas on the roof. Also, cleaned up significant pigeon "mess". Did not call in response to BIG DEAL purchase and email, but once I called he was professional and did a nice job.

Eric was honest about the uncertainty around removing tiles to inspect the felt and the risk that the repair might instead require a new roof. But in our case he was able to repair the felt layer and fix the leak. Great job.

When Eric inspected the job he noticed we had some missing shingles so for an additional fee he offered to get replacement shingles and repair. He returned to take care of all work a few days later and cleaned up all evidence of pigeons and you cannot even see the screen and spike unless you know what to look for. The tiles he replaced he screwed in with heavy duty screws and they match the originals to a tee.

I called for and estimate late in the afternoon 7/30/2013 and Eric came out the same day and gave me an estimate. After finding a match for 20 year old tile the roof was repaired in the afternoon of 8/1/2013. He worked quickly and was very professional.

Very professional. Did a nice job. Charged a little more than original estimate. After serve was performed a pigeon got caught in screening. Came back and took care of problem.

He went up on the roof in 117 degrees and worked for an hour and a half repairing the leak. In the end he reduced my charge, saying it didn't take as long as he thought.

The guy from Goldstar Services was a nice guy. He came and showed up, but he really wasn't prepared. I want to have some kind of pigeon control on my roof. He had to leave to go to the store, but he said he wasn't able to do it and he had to come back the next day to pick up the screening that he needed to use. He came back. It seemed like it took more time that he really needed to do it. He said he may need some extra parts. He ended up charging me an extra $60.00. I never wrote up that I would not recommend him. I figured a guy is trying to do a job, but still. Once you quote a price or whatever, you would think he would stick with it. I don't know. I'm very leery of using the service. I'm very easy going. I could really nail him to the wall. I just should have told him, "I'm not paying for anything extra." He got up on the roof. He looked at it and took measurements. He could have said, "Well it's going to cost extra." I could have said, "Well, maybe I don't want it." He wrote up a bill for an extra $60.00, so I really don't think I got my discount. He forgot the parts the first day, then he came back. He even came in the afternoon. He kept on calling me up. He said he was going to be there at 11:00 in the morning the next day, after he got the materials. By the time he showed up, I think it was 4:00 in the afternoon. That was another thing that sort of aggravated me. He said he had other work to finish with somebody else. That doesn't work that way. Like I said, how he's still in business? He's a nice guy and has a great personality. He had a friendly personality, you would say. I ended up learning my lesson. I really wanted to do it. I had been putting it off and I really wanted to get it done. He did a good job but not with his time management and his communication. I think he should have eaten the final cost, maybe because of the inconvenience he caused me. I could have mentioned that to him. But at this point, I just wanted him to get done and to leave. He wound up charging me more, which I don't think I should have paid for. But I wasn't going to argue or have a fist fight with him in front of the street. I told him I have things to do and he said, "Well, I can do it on my own." I wanted to be there, to watch what he's doing. Oh yeah, you can do whatever you feel like. "I'll finish. You don't have to be here." Yeah, right. I don't like that kind of response, either. He did do the things he said he was going to do. I wasn't going to argue with him over the time it took. I think the job could have taken him a lot less time, if he would just do what he needed to do. I read a review that said he was friendly and I think that's why I chose him instead of somebody else. If he had other customers, he should have told me. You came over my house and told me you would be here in the morning, and then you don't show up until the afternoon? Even though there was a phone call, his time management wasn't where it needed to be, for a guy running a business.
