FYI INSPECTIONS INC

As a real estate broker/saleswoman, I always recommend my clients get a Home Inspection done prior to closing escrow. This was a brand new 4000 square foot home and not 100% perfect. Bill Thomas, the Master Inspector, found 2 items that needed to be addressed by the builder. His report was so thorough and detailed that the builder made one of the corrections (pertaining to an air conditioning condensation line) within 2 days of the escrow closing. When we did the final walk through with the builders superintendent, my buyer was able to point out several minor items that he would not necessarily have noticed without Bill's keen eyes to give him the heads-up. This is about the 15th time I have used FYI Inspections - always with great satisfaction. I'm sorry it never dawned on me before to include him on my Angie's List of favorites.

Bill from FYI is the guy that you want to do your home inspection. He has over 25 years experience as a builder and he does a very thorough inspection as he knows what to look for. I walked around with him during the inspection and he discussed different issues, gave advice and explained how to fix the minor things myself. What I found interesting is he pointed out past issues with the house that were fixed and he let me know that they do not appear to be an issue anymore as it was fixed properly. (water leak on balcony). He also gave me a tutorial on how the HVAC system works and gave tips on how to increase efficiency... He then proved it to me with his temperature reader by showing the colder temperature of the air coming out of the vents after the simple changes. He takes pictures of everything and emails you a very detailed report.

two properties, Bill approved, but two he suggested to avoid. I'm sure that if I had purchased the two properties, I would have lost thousands of dollars. Bill is a true professional.

Overall it went great. We started with my "deal breakers" , which he checked for BEFORE I paid for the inspection because he didn't want to take my money if right away he saw something that would cause me to not accept the house. From there he systematically went throughout the outisde of house , and took pictures of even the smallest "concern", as well as filling in his report on his laptop as he went. I received the report later in the day via email.

The entire inspection lasted about three hours and was very extensive and detailed. He arrived on time and was very thorough in all aspects. Explained all problems that he found and suggested ways to go about fixing them. Offered to come back on his own time to teach me how to fix certain problems. Please understand that he will not fix the problems, but he will instruct me on how to go about it. Bill had approximately 30 years experience and it showed. I could not recommend his services more highly. This is our third house and he was far and away the best home inspector we have ever had. This was money that was more than well spent. Even though he found more problems that I had hoped, I feel confident that there won't be any surprises. Seriously, hire this guy. A++

I moved from Oregon and am buying a house. Bill inspected it, carefully looked at all details of the place sharing his findings with me as he went and explaining what he found and the idiosyncrasies of the Las Vegas home market. It was not only very thorough but very informative as well. I learned what to look for in the desert and how to operate pool equipment among other things. I was very pleased with the results, and now I can buy the house with a feeling of comfort.

Overall it went extremely well. I would recommend Bill to anyone who is looking for a home inspector.
