They had to work around several doorways and all pieces were cut to fit seamlessly. We feel that we received a fair price and that the flooring was itself quality material and installed by a knowledgeable and friendly team.
Description of Work: Tom's team installed laminate flooring in our kitchen, living room, and living room hallway, a total of about 410 square feet. This included ripping up the old carpeting and installing the laminate in two small hall closet areas. They also installed trim and all moldings.

+ 0 moreI found Expert Flooring on Angie's List and contacted Tom. He was not available to help me, but immediately put me in touch with Bill Jackson, his associate. Bill was great!! He brought carpet samples to my home, took measurements, gave me an estimate, and we set up a schedule to have the job done. I was also buying furniture and having the rooms painted. I called Bill several times to borrow the carpet samples so I could match my new carpet to the paint and furniture that I was buying. Bill made time to meet up with me and brought the samples so I could make sure that the colors worked. When the installation day arrived, the installers were there promptly and did the job neatly and quickly. I had already had the painting done and there was no damage done to the paint job when the carpet was installed. All furniture was reset and I had a new living/dining/hall and master!! This was a great experience, start to finish!! I will recommend Tom, Bill and Expert Flooring to all of my friends!!
Description of Work: Old carpet and pad were removed from living/dining/hall/master. New carpet and pad were installed in all areas. Furniture was moved out and reset.

+ 0 moreI called Tom and told him what I was looking for. He met me at the house with some samples of what I had described I was looking for. He measured the whole area and gave me an estimate for the unoccupied house (no furniture to move) :o) He came in under what I was expecting I would have to spend for a very nice product. Tom is a total professional that has been in the business many years. I found that out because he took the time to come to the house, ask what I wanted and then just talked about the process. He gave me tips on my painting to make the rooms look the best they could with new carpet. (Removing the rim of the carpet to get to the baseboards, etc.) You can tell by talking to him that he is a straight shooter and is a trustworthy business man. Basically our deal happened with a handshake. No money is expected up front so that tells me he is very secure in his business and put me at ease. Because I was finishing the paint job, he went ahead and ordered the carpet and was very patient with me in putting it in (3-4 weeks). At one point when painting I asked Tom if he could provide me with a swatch of carpet so I could match colors. He had a swatch Fed-Ex'd to the house within days - which I really appreciated (no charge!!) Once I was ready to schedule the install he had his guys there within a week. They came on time, and although I had removed some of the carpeting, they do that also. They removed the remaining carpeting, pad, (hauled it away) and swept the whole house and proceeded to install the carpeting. I don't even think they stopped for lunch. It took almost 12 hours but there was LOTS of carpet to install. Once they were finished they cleaned up after themselves, vacuumed the rug, etc. They remove/rehang the closet doors, etc. so they can do a really nice job. Anyway, the whole experience was totally painless and the house looks great! After the install Tom called to see if I was totally happy and said for me to call him if I had any questions or comments or problems. It's so very nice to have access to the owner like that. I know if I have problems or concerns he will make it right.

+ 1 moreI called, they quoted, they got the job. I had some smelly dirty contractors in the past - not these guys. Also, these guys are for real Americans. You can use this company knowing your money will keep American's in work. Ask for Earl, Stuart and John. When we are ready to replace the flooring in the rest of the house - these will be the guys to do it.
Description of Work: Hire this company! We had our kitchen, and 2.5 baths tiled. John, Stuart and Earl came to do the job. The job was about 420sqft. The job was done quickly, professionally and beyond. I work from home and I felt completely comfortable with them in my home. I asked them to save a square of carpet from my master bath for a closet downstairs. The next thing I new the closet was re-carpeted too! On top of that they tightened the laminate that the previous owners botched at no cost.

+ 1 moreI wanted to get the best value and service for my money, so I invested quite a bit of time in researching respectable company's and products offered. I had called Tom on a Thursday and unfortunately he could not come out for an estimate on my project until the following week. I advised him that I was looking at several other companies but wanted to give him a shot because he came so highly recommended on Angie's List and so far Angie's List had never let me down. He promised that he would give me the best deal and it would be worth the wait. In the mean time, I had 6 other companies give bids on the job and had picked RC Willey as the front runner based on price and customer service...before Tom arrived. Tom arrived for our appointment on time and ready to work with me. He took measurements and gave me a very competitive quote to RC Willey. But then, on top of the competitive quote, he also threw in new base boards for the entire house! His professionalism and expertise put me over the edge and the project was his! As the old flooring was being ripped out (by his amazing team) I had a company come in to give an estimate on remodeling the master bath. Because of the good deal that I could get on cabinetry if I combined a master bath remodel with a kitchen remodel, I decided to do it all at once. Unfortunately, this caused a delay in the wood and tile floor being installed as the cabinets were to go in before the floor and needed 3 weeks before they were ready. Tom and his team were beyond excellent in working with me, and my almost daily remodeling revelations. Tom was very gracious in halting the work and rescheduling around me and my crazy projects. The only thing he requested was that I keep him informed of the progress so he could pencil in when his team could come back, because I was on a time crunch and he wanted to ensure that my flooring was finished when I needed it. This just made me like Expert Flooring more. The wood work was perfect. The tiles look amazing. The grout is flawless. The outcome is impeccable. I am currently in the process of trying to convince my family and neighbors to redo their floors and Tom is the only one they should call!

+ 0 moreTom was punctual on our estimate appt. and gave me a very reasonable quote for the work done. I needed the work done sooner and Tom was able to accommodate me. His crew was punctual on the date of service, not a minute late. They came in did the job fairly quickly, removed some furniture, took out old carpet/padding and put in new carpet/padding in 3 of my rooms. They did a very professional job and I was very satisfied. I love my light carpets, but Tom had suggested that I shouldn't go as light on the color of the carpet and to go a bit darker. I was very skeptical. But after seeing the job, I was so happy with the choice he recommended. He definitely picked a very good choice and the carpet/padding is absolutely wonderful. My sister needs her carpeting done soon, and I already recommended her to Tom. He is a great choice.

Completed all 3 areas, transitions and baseboard work. Finished on time and clean-up was excellent including removal of my old carpeting.
Description of Work: Removed old (carpet) flooring and Installed new laminate flooring, job was about 400 sq. feet, a master bedroom with separate closets (2).

+ 1 moreDuring the 5-day installation, Tom Rossi stopped by twice to see how things were progressing. Bill Jackson also stopped by. The final job turned out looking great. Johnnie was very careful to layout the tile so that it would be easy to pick up the pattern when/if we choose to replace more carpet with the tile. He also made sure that the larger sections of tile were in the largest spacial areas, with smaller sections laid underneath cabinet areas. The new fireplace surround turned out very well. There were four things that came up during the installation that I think demonstrate the professionalism and expertise of this crew and Expert Flooring Solutions. One area of concern was the transition from the new tile to the existing tile in the hallway. We had purchased listelle for that area. Johnnie wanted to install it closer to the kitchen; however, we wanted it installed in the middle of the archway. After conferring with the team, a plan of action was determined requiring additional drilling. Johnnie discussed with me that the existing tile may crack. With the expertise of Johnnie & Jeff, the listelle turned out beautifully with no cracked tiles (and with no additional charge)! Another area of concern had been brought up by paint contractors that we had come out to bid repainting the master bedroom/bath. Painters recommended that the flooring people remove the baseboards, install the tile, and then have the baseboards installed on top of the new tile. Bill Jackson had bid the job based upon the new tile going up to the baseboards. We placed a call to Johnnie between the carpet removal and tile installation dates. Although he did not call us back during that time, he did ensure us on the first day of tile installation that they would be able to do that - and they did. With the cracks in the pad, Johnnie and crew were able to apply the latex, crack-preventing material over the existing cracks and smooth out the areas in the tile installation. One area between the island and the range in the kitchen required additional preparation/excavation to help smooth out the settling. They were able to get this done very nicely. Lastly, between Tom & Johnnie, they were able to move up the carpet layers coming by a day to re-tack the existing carpet since the day Executive wanted them to come did not work with our schedules.
Description of Work: Removed 11-year old original carpet in family room, including fireplace surround; master bedroom; and master bathroom and replaced with new tile; removed original 11-year-old tile in kitchen area and replaced with same new tile to ensure consistent look throughout. Carpeting tear-out was done 10 days in advance to ensure that the concrete pad was not damaged by dog urine, or so that we could take action to remove odors before tile was laid. Our ultimate goal was to get durable, easy care, dog durable flooring in those areas that we live in most in our family of 2 humans and 2 canines. We were very pleased with the entire process. Due to our schedules, our free time is limited. We originally received an estimate from Bill Jackson on July 5, 2010 after he measured all areas. When we were ready to make tile selections, Bill offered to meet us at the tile store on July 31 to assist us - which we were grateful for! He was able to guide us through which tile would stay within the original quote. He also gave us practical suggestions on tile sizes and types. We were able to set the carpet removal date and tile installation start dates with Bill on July 31. Although they offered to start earlier, they worked around our availability. The carpet tear-out date was scheduled for Fri., August 13, 8 a.m. with installation date scheduled to start on Mon., August 23, 8 a.m. John Levecci and 2 others arrived as scheduled on August 13. They moved the furniture. It seemed like no time before they had the carpet pulled up, removed & into Johnnie's truck for hauling away. They spent time to pull up the carpet tack strips and tacks, including scraping the old glue and vacuuming up any loose tacks and carpet fibers. Johnnie indicated that the concrete pad was not urine damaged. He also took pictures of areas where the pad had settled and cracked to bring sufficient materials to repair the cracks. Johnnie also re-measured to confirm the areas to be tiled. On August 23, Johnnie, Jeff Wagner, Matt Bennett and another worker arrived on time as scheduled. The new tile was unloaded and work proceeded. Johnnie as lead was very good at communicating what they were going to do that day, when they were leaving for lunch, reviewing what had been accomplished before leaving for the day, and what would be done the next day. Johnnie, Jeff & Matt really worked well as a team, getting right in to work. I was pleased with their professionalism, their communication, and willingness to assist one another and me as the homeowner.

+ 0 moreI can only say that it was a pleasure to have them in the house. The work they did far exceeded the work performed by a previous tiler in the kitchen area. There was great attention to detail which included scribing around the toilet instead of removal due to an over hanging ledge. At the conclusion of each day John made sure that entry doors were secure before he left through the garage area. When they removed the dryer John discovered an excess of lint that had accumulated around the exit to the outside. When the work was completed and the dryer replaced he cleaned out the exit line. In addition he came into the kitchen area which had been previously installed by another company and grouted areas that they missed. The cleanup was impeccable. I can only say that if you want expert installation that stands far above the norm, you should contact this company.
Description of Work: I had purchased close to 283 sq ft of 20x20 porcelain tile to finish off entry,laundry and bath. After reading the recommendations for this company in Angie's List, I contacted and spoke with Bill Jackson and Tom Rossi. Bill came out and submitted a bid which I accepted. The crew of John and EarL arrived at the previously agreed upon date. Their work demeanor and excellent laying ot the tile was a pleasure to observe.The work was completed in a timely manner.

+ 0 moreHow did it go overall? In a word, perfect !!! John, Earl, and Stew arrived promptly at 9am as scheduled. The first thing I noticed was all 3 guys were smiling, happy, outgoing, and friendly. But that wasn't all, they were the most efficient, professional, and talented crew that has ever worked on my house. Although they were there to tile my bedroom, John noticed a large chunk of granite missing from my kitchen counter top. I gave him an extra piece of granite and the guys fixed my counter top. Amazing! That wasn't even part of the job and they were happy to go the extra mile and fix it for me. I am planning to have 2 more rooms tiled and I will tell you without a doubt, I will be calling Expert Flooring Solutions for sure. If you need any type of flooring, you would be crazy not to call Expert Flooring Solutions.

The product we choose (Mohawk 3" Red Oak Natural) had to be shipped across country. The shipping time was the driving force for the installation schedule. Once the flooring arrived locally the installation crew delivered it at our new house and set the installation start date for a few days later. The flooring needed to acclimatize prior to installation. Jeff and Ryan arrived and started as promised and finished on time as promised. The guys where great. We love the floors.

+ 0 moreThe installers arrived on time and did an excellent job stretching and cutting away the excess carpet. To my surprise, they also repaired two corners on my stairs where my cats had scratched away the carpet down to the wood. They used scraps from what they cut away with the stretching so it matched perfectly. Another surprise...they also trimmed pulled fibers (cats...again) from an area rug in my foyer. All debris was removed and both areas were vacuumed. I would definitely recommend Expert Flooring Solutions. This was my first experience using Angie's List and I am extremely pleased with the results!

+ 0 moreThis was the best tiling experience I've ever had with a contractor! One of Tom's tile guys, Juan, led the team and had 2 other gentleman helping him. We had a lot of other construction going on at the same time -- and it amazed me how clean and almost invisible these guys were. When they left for the day, there wasn't a scrap of tile or anything left behind. They did all of the tile cutting outside with tarps and took all trash with them. The installation itself was also top notch. The cuts were tight and the surface was as flat as can be. We will definitely be hiring them again for our next tiling job. THANK YOU!

They installed a new carpet pad and replaced damaged tack strips. They installed the new carpet in one day. Tom inspected the final job and didn't require payment until the job was done to our satisfaction. We were very happy with the quality of the job. Would use again.

+ 0 moreTom was punctual when he came over to give us the estimate, and spent a lot of time with us to pick out the carpet and advise us of the process. We had gotten other estimates and he was willing to work with us on the price as we were on a budget. He also worked with us on the installation day, as we are only off on weekends. His men arrived on time the morning of the installation, worked very hard, and did a quality job. I would certainly recommend Tom and Expert Flooring to friends and family in the future.
Description of Work: Installed new carpeting in the upstairs of a three bedroom 1600 sq. ft. home plus the stairs. The price included the carpet (used existing pad), moving all the furniture including a very heavy universal gym set and treadmill in one of the extra bedrooms. They also put all of the furniture back where it belonged and cleaned up after themselves very well.

+ 0 moreTom was the ONLY provider (out of 3 that I called) that returned my call. Two of the providers that I was able to get on the phone would not install the product (I purchased the product from Lowe's) unless I had purchased it from them. Jeff (the installer) was on time on Monday morning & did all the prep work (removing old product, scraping the old adhesive from the concrete). Jeff & Ryan came on Tuesday, removed all the baseboards (I painted them but had the option to not paint and they would rehang them as is) and laid all the flooring in all 3 areas. Jeff and Ryan returned on Wednesday, rehung the painted baseboards and did all the finishing work (rolling the floor with a weighted roller). I had given Tom a deadline of Thursday afternoon to be finished as I was leaving town on Friday morning. Jeff and Ryan were finished at approximately 12:30 pm on WEDNESDAY (and that included bringing in all the furniture from the garage-including my Yamaha piano)!!! Tom came over and did a walk-through before Jeff & Ryan left and to get a verbal from me on how I felt about the job. I was so happy with my new floor that I asked Tom to schedule them to come back and do my kitchen and downstairs bathroom. I would use them again and again as I am very picky when it comes to customer service.
