I have had this company servicing my pool for a month now. The first week they didn’t even bother showing up nor did they call to tell me about it. Then they said they would send someone out as a last stop on Tuesday. Still didn’t show up. Then not even on Wednesday. Thursday rolls around and someone shows up but he knows nothing about pools. My pool has yellow algae and yes I had it before them, that is why I no longer have the old pool guy. They sent someone out last week but he told me nothing when he left as far as what he did. I still had a TON of algae on the walls and the floor. I could see exactly where he vacuumed, because of the line in the bottom where it was clean and everywhere else where it was dirty. When I called to see what he did and when they were coming back I was told Monday to do it again then Thursday as a normal weekly service. Well low and behold no one yesterday. So I am calling them and get no answer or return call. I have left about 3 messages so far today at all different times so I know it’s not their lunchtime. I owned a pool businesses for 10 years in the Las Vegas valley and there is no way I would do this to my customers. This company is a joke! I would do the pool myself but I am constantly out of town for my job and 10 years of it was more then enough.

Emerald Pool Service was hired several years ago to perform weekly maintenance on my elderly mother's swimming pool. There did not appear to be any problems for the first few years. In 2010, Mom moved from that house to another, but kept the pool service while the house was vacant. For the last two years this company billed my mother each month for cleaning the pool every week, plus an occasional bill for "parts". When my mother became ill with cancer six months ago, my brother moved into the house to oversee renovations so the property can be sold. At that time, we discovered the pool was filthy. The technician's weekly visits were sporadic - sometimes on Tuesdays, sometimes on Wednesdays, sometimes not at all. There are weeds growing between the tiles IN the pool (the decorative border at the waterline and the wall tiles). Cinderblocks and weights had been thrown into the pool by vandals - the service technician did not remove them and there are rust stains all over the bottom of the pool. When we called the office, we were told the technician couldn't get them out because they were in the deep end. We removed them by sliding them to the shallow end with a long pool pole and reaching in with our bare hands. The leaf filter became so clogged with leaves that the pool nearly overflowed. The pool pump has been leaking for months, despite Emerald Pools including replacement parts on the last bill. When my brother called Emerald Pools to find out what service we were supposed to be getting, and to complain about the poor quality service, the owner informed him that he was aware that his technician had been "skating" on this property for a long time. He refused to come out and inspect the pool himself, telling us that he had already seen it. The owner expressed no desire to rectify the situation in any way. He did promise us a different service technician, but did not follow through on that - the next week the same tech who had been "skating" was back. He skimmed the leaves off the surface of the pool, but did not properly vacuum the bottom. There was dirt built-up along the curved edges, especially in the deep end; and the weeds were still growing in the tiles. We decided to cancel the Emerald Pools due to this poor level of service. When my sister (who is now handling Mom's financial affairs) called to question the last bill we received, the owner was extremely rude to her and informed her that he was well aware of the condition of the pool and that it must be my mother's fault that her pool was in such bad shape. My sister asked him how he came to THAT conclusion, and he hung up on her. Because of the poor service from Emerald Pools, we now have to have the pool drained, acid-washed, and refilled; as well as having the weeds removed from the tiles. 08/03/2012 - Update Our new pool service discovered that the pool filter and pipes were clogged with seeds from a neighbor's tree. The seeds drop in the FALL. Emerald Pools had been billing my mother for regular filter changes for the last two years, but it is now obvious they did NOT change the filters as they claimed.
