I first got a call from my sales rep, David Robertson, saying that they needed to reschedule me to Wednesday, June 5th in the morning. I thought, no big deal as we were closing on the house Friday morning of that week. I flew from OR to CO on Monday, June 3rd - 7 month pregnant with a 2-year old in tow - and received another call from David saying that the move would be Wednesday afternoon instead. From that point on, it got progressively worse and worse. Wednesday rolls around and I'm sitting in an empty house with my 2-yr old waiting for movers. I called David every hour to see where they were and was told that they were finishing up a job in Utah and would be there Thursday morning. I told David that I had scheduled Goodwill to pick-up all the furniture that they were to disassemble and move to the garage on Thursday and David promised me that the movers would be there first thing in the a.m. and that there would be no problems with the scheduling of the Goodwill pick-up. Thursday morning I am at the house with my 2-yr old at 8:00 a.m. waiting.......and waiting......I called David several times and then was told that they were 300 miles outside of CO and would be there that late afternoon, early evening. I had to call Goodwill and cancel. David promised me that the movers, because it was their fault for all the scheduling delays, would take my items to the nearest Goodwill for me. Thursday afternoon rolls around and I frantically call David at 3:00 p.m. to see where the movers are. They just left Utah!!!! At this point, I am in tears with a 2-year old and my closing was to take place the next morning at 10:00 a.m. David continues to assure and promise me that they will drive through the night and be there first thing in the a.m.......again!! I called to have the closing moved to 2:00 p.m. to allow for the 2-point pick-up that the movers still had to do. Sure enough, Friday morning I am at the house at 8:00 a.m. with my 2-yr old in tow waiting........At this point, I call David for an update at 10:00 a.m. and was told they are in CO and doing another quick pick-up and will be on their way to me!!!! Are you kidding me?!?!! I immediately start calling in favors from friends to take off work to come get my son so I can get the house closed and deal with the situation. A friend came and got my son and I rushed over to the Title company to sign the papers to close the house. At this point, I am sitting on the driveway, 7 months pregnant in the CO sun, waiting for the movers. They finally got there at 3 p.m. The Penske truck they drove was packed to the gills and I had only a small section left for my 2 moves. It took 3 movers 4-hours to load up 20 boxes, disassemble 3 beds and move out a dining table and china cabinet, and load my 3 large items. Because it took them so long, all the Goodwill stores were closed so I had to ask a favor of the neighbors to let us put the furniture items in their garage and they would schedule a Goodwill pick-up on my behalf. The movers were so exhausted they asked me to go to the grocery store for them to get drinks and snacks. When I got back, they were lounging around and not doing any work. Meanwhile, the new tenants to the house were sitting on the front porch watching all this and shaking their head in disbelief. They were gracious enough to let a pregnant woman use the bathroom while waiting for the move to finish-up. When they finally finished with the first pick-up point, I told them we were not going to the second point as it was already 7:00 p.m. and I was exhausted - both emotionally and physically from the weeks events. I was promised by David Robertson that they would, in good faith, give me some sort of credit or refund as a gesture in understanding what they had put me through. Guess what, 3 messages and multiple phone calls to the business with no replies back, am still waiting.........of course!
Description of Work: I scheduled a move to take place from CO to OR on Tuesday, June 4th from my mother's estate. The move was supposed to have 2 pick-up points. The first consisted of moving 20 boxes that I had packed myself, take apart furniture and move to garage, and move 3 large items including a stand-up piano. The second point was to move 26 boxes that I packed myself and a medium sized rocking chair.

On 6/5/13 I contracted a long distance move from CA to Tx on for 6/5-6/26 window. Due to packing help issues I called company on 6/17 to request new move date of 6/28. Company rep said he would check schedule and call back. He returned call the next day to say 6/28 date was okay. On 6/27 another co representative called to ask if 6/28 date could be resched because previous rep had made mistake. After much discussion, with this rep saying that since I was the one who changed the date in the first place I should be more flexible, (which I thought was an ridiculous position because the company had accepted the revised date) I agreed to 7/1 because I HAD to move. I had made Amtrak reservations to leave CA on 6/30 so I had to change those due to this reschedule. I was told movers would be at my home btwn 9AM-12. Well no mover showed up. I called co at 12:30 pm and was told by owner that truck driver had been involved in a fender bender and would be at my home in 2 hrs. Driver never showed. Called owner back around 3:30 and was told driver made another moveand it would be too late to service me. He said ,"looks like this won't happen today," No one had called me to tell me that I woudnt be moved. I had to call the company. Owner said they would be at my house next day. (7/2) btwn 8-10am.At 11:30am called owner as no truck, no driver. Owner said driver should be there because it wasn,t noon. Said he woeuld contract driver to see how long it would take him to get to my house. Called driver who said he was three hours away. I asked where drivr was. Driver said he didn't know where he was but his GPS showed he was 161 miles away. How could a driver not know where he is. Well at this time, I'd had enough with the excuses and the delays so I asked for my depost back and was told that I wouldnt be able to get anyone to help me at this late date and that I cancelled the contract so no refund. I guess that his reasoning was since I was in a bind I would continue to take their bull. If there are probs with refund there will be a awsuit. THIS is no way to treat a customer. I incurred a lot of unnecessary expenses due to the shennagins of this company. Previous landlord upset with me because my problems caused her problems. This company should not be in business period. Anyone who uses them will be very sorry.
Description of Work: DID NOT SHOW UP FOR SCHEDULED MOVE.
