+ 1 moreWe were basically happy with the service. Since then, I have been in need of some services by him. He has been too busy to come over. I need him to replace a couple bushes that have died. The irrigation tubing gets clogged and the plants don't get the water they need all the time. He put the landscaping in originally 17 years ago. He's always been pleasant, but lately he has been too busy to do the small jobs that we need done.
Description of Work: He came out to plant some trees and bushes.

I had a terrific experience from start to finish, I LOVE my final result, and I look forward to using them again when I am ready to do my backyard. It was a pleasure dealing with Mike. He is professional, organized, and knowledgeable. He willingly made suggestions and recommendations, but he also listened to my requirements and preferences so that he could deliver my dream yard. In addition, the crew worked well together, they were very efficient, and worked clean with regard to both yard debris and any personal items. I really appreciated the respect they showed my house and neighborhood by not leaving lunch trash etc. around. Call it a peeve, but it always bothers me when I am spending money and time getting work done and the providers treat the yard like a big trash can until the last day. That was not the case with Earthworks. Highly recommended!
Description of Work: Front yard project that included removing all grass and broken curb pieces, adjusting all irrigation to drip system, replacing with rock, and designing and planting various low water plants.

+ 2 moreWhat I appreciated most was that Mike and his crew completed *all* of the miscellany of tasks that I assigned them. I have a new house and have had all sorts of work done on it. Too often my contractors have completed the easy, routine tasks and then reported that they're not able to complete the trickier, less routine ones that were my main concern. I also appreciated how quickly Mike came out to provide an estimate and how quickly thereafter (4 days) the work was started. Mike and his crew of 6 completed the job in one long day. I was very pleased with the result. Mike was pleasant and reliable, and his service was top-notch.
Description of Work: Mike secured HOA approval. Then replaced old rock in back half of house with 3/4" Rebel Red rock. Used the old rock to plump up the rocks (of the same type) in the front half of the house. Removed an expanse of concrete badly stained by irrigation water and replaced it with rocks and two boulders. Removed a large tree root that had pushed up two flagstones and the irrigation box near the house. Replaced the irrigation piping in the area. Leveled the ground and the flagstones. Cleaned up afterward.

+ 3 moreIt went very well. I was extremely pleased with the process and the result. Mike was responsible and did exactly what he said he would do. The crew was hard working and on time.
Description of Work: Removed old surface of courtyard. Designed and completed new landscaping in courtyard. Had everything approved through my HOA. Dug out and removed an old tree trunk and roots. There was at one time a huge mesquite tree which had been removed but had very large deep roots. It was a difficult task. Performed all work in two days. Love my new courtyard. They also fixed the water sprinkler system and fixed a leak I didn't even know existed and installed a new timer and set it.

+ 0 moreWe have used Earthworks twice now, originally for front yard and now for our backyard. Mike was always on time for appointments. He is friendly and very professional. We interviewed several companies but Mike was the only one who listened to what we wanted and was happy to stay with in our budget. Most times I was able to reach him by phone, but if not messages were returned quickly. Very helpful with doing Water Smart paper work and with our association paperwork. Went to nursey with us to show us the plants and make choices. He was on site during the job to supervise his crew. Workers were fast and very neat. All work was guaranteed and job was not paid for till finished
Description of Work: Re did all backyard landscaping, this included concrete patio, retaining wall, accent lighting, grass and rock-scape.

+ -1 moreSince no estimate was ever received, I guess I'd have to say it went poorly.
Description of Work: I had a very unfortunate experience with this company. I called them for an estimate to do quite a bit of landscape work in my backyard. They showed up to do the estimate, seemed professional, took photos, etc., and promised an estimate by email by the next Monday. No estimate arrived, so I called back later in the following week and spoke to one of the principles, Mike. He was very apologetic on the phone and promised to get right back to me. Again, I heard nothing..I left another message with their answering service and got no response at all. I was disappointed for several reasons: one, the company generally got good reviews here, which I respect; two, they are local in Henderson, where I also live, so I wanted to use them; and three, I spent time staying home that afternoon and meeting with the estimator that I could have used elsewhere. If for some reason they didn't want the job, or the burden of making an estimate, I would have appreciated knowing that.

He took pictures of our yard, put them into a computer program, then came back the next night to show us what it would look like. The price was good and work commenced two days later. They finished in three days. A beautiful job. They did everything Greg said they would. He was a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: Earthworks took out 1500 square feet of grass and installed desert landscaping and drought tolerant plants. This was done in the front, side and backyard. Two large berms were built and various sizes of rock used for good contrast.

He had come out 3 times to get information on designing the layout before he gave us an estimate, but once he emailed us the estimate it was way to high and was not what we wanted. After checking with other companies, we decided that we did like him and wanted to give him another chance to change the design and lower the price. We called him several times and left him messages on every number that he provided. We also emailed him twice. He never called us back. He also did miss one appointment that he had scheduled with us. It was almost like we were not important to him.
Description of Work: We had them come out to do an estimate on putting in some steps in, designing a sidewalk, and having some turf removed in our front yard.($2800.)

+ 0 moreEarthworks Landscaping did a good job removing the evergreen. They took the entire stump out and picked up the pine needles. They put the palm tree in the same hole in which the evergreen came out of. The palm tree was healthy and growing well. They were very efficient and there were no hassles. They also hauled away the evergreen.
Description of Work: They took out an evergreen tree and put in a Mexican fan palm tree.
