Doctor Cool is the worst HVAC company you can hire. One of their technicians came to diagnose my AC unit and in 5 minutes he told me that I need 7lbs of freon and it's gonna cost me $980. I went ahead and got 3 different opinions from other companies and they all told me that the compressor was burned and the unit needs to be replaced. When I called the front desk again, the lady there said " I don't know what to tell you. That's what our technician found" They onky want to hustle people for money and they don't do their job properly. They are absolutely incompetent and worthless. If you want to keep your money, don't hire Doctor Cool because they are in the scaming business.
Description of Work: My AC unit needed to be replaced but doctor cool insisted I paid them $980 for no reason since the compressor was burned and not functioning

He took the thermostat off the wall and that disconnected it and the fan shut off, but he didn't replace the thermostat and left if on our kitchen counter. He tried to tell me there was only one compressor valve on our unit when I'd had an independent 3rd party not associated with American Home Shield come out 4 days earlier and he had found that there were two valves sending conflicting information to our unit (which was frankensteinded in by Air Pro Masters (who are total scam artist also) but here's the thing... when I whipped out the photo I had of the two valves on the same line, I said "why don't we go back up and look at it together because maybe you just missed it"... he refused and wouldn't write on the paper what was actually there. He just wanted to write "the unit is older and inefficient but fully functional" mind you it blows out at the coolest 78 degree air, has two compressor valves that could be passing liquid rather than gas to the compressor and he had to take our thermostat off the wall to get our fan to turn off. When I tried to get him just to write that the thermostat was the issue with the fan on the paperwork he wouldn't and then he told us what we should do is this "go to the Better Business Bureau about Air Pro Masters and what they did with the unit and coolant that wasn't needed and is now wrong, then if they won't fix it, go after them in small claims or if you know an attorney who's reasonable." He then told us he COULD not write anything else on the work order about the two valves or the faulty thermostat or his office would just remove it anyway because American Home Shield doesn't want them to find anything they would have to contribute to a new unit for..." directly from his mouth he told us this is a scam and that no matter what's wrong with our unit, he cannot say he's fond anything wrong with the unit. I pleaded with him and he said he needed to make a call to his office and went out to his van and promptly left without even having us sign the work order, on which he apparently wrote - according to American home shield - that the unit is older and inefficient but otherwise in working order. ... while our faulty thermostat sits on our sink and the unit has to be turned off at the breaker and all the vents have to be closed to keep the 106 degree air out of our 90 degree house. See the pics attached! It's crazy!!! If you're experience has been similar I'm thinking class action legal action!
Description of Work: Our a/c unit fan wouldn't shut off and kept blowing in hot air unless I turned if off at the breaker. American Home Shield sent out Doctor Cool who saw that there are two compressor valves on the same line one is not even for the coolant we have, and second that the fan wouldn't shut off because of a faulty thermostat.

Scam Alert: "Missing filter drier." Doctor Cool found a way to get your home warranty company to deny your claim so they can charge what they want & make all the profit. 7/15/19 my AC was not cooling to set temp. Over 2 1/2 day wait, 1st Doctor Cool tech told me he fixed some loose wires/connections, but he wrote on invoice "working fine at time of inspection." Hours later temperature was back up to 86 & climbing. 1 1/2 days later - 2nd tech wrote "System has a restriction due to a missing filter drier. Need to call this in, Need to fix restriction & 6 lb of R-22 freon" but could not explain how or why my filter drier could be missing. He kept sticking his pen in my face to sign the invoice. I was suspicious because It was the same exact diagnosis my friend got from Doctor Cool a month earlier - which was rejected by her home warranty co. She paid Doctor Cool $980 AND they told her cash$$ only! So, my claim was denied & Doctor Cool wanted to charge me $1280 to repair. My 2nd opinion company said a missing filter drier didn't make sense & found a simple $10.00 capacitor problem - AC works great now.

Used Doctor Cool for the first time and was extremely pleased with the results. Jesse very quickly diagnosed my A/C outage as a failed furnace control module on Wednesday 8/15 and Eric and Nate returned the next day Thursday to install a new control module and get me back in cool air. They all did a great job and I heartily recommend Doctor Cool for HVAC work.

AC quit working I called for service and was given a service window that was acceptable. When tech responded he was polite and knowledgeable and located the problem. He repaired the problem and checked that both units were working properly.
Description of Work: Called in the AM they responded early afternoon. Tech was very polite and found the problem quickly, made the necessary repairs and AC is working properly. I will recommend this company for service
