Overall the inspection went well, but we were disappointed that the inspector couldn't confirm or deny whether or not there was a mold issue in one of the upstairs bathrooms or if it was just a water discoloration on the tile grout and floor. Additionally, the home owner said their water heater had failed and when they returned from work, water was all over the garage floor. The water heater sits on top of a built in platform that it shares with an interior wall. He said he'd have to open up the platform wall. Two reasons we went with this company. Infrared water detection and that we'd receive the inspectors report in 24 hours. Now, even though we had questions regarding the bathroom area and the water heater area, the infrared system was not used to determine whether or not moisture was present. I would have liked to know if there was moisture in the walls. Since it was a seven (7) day escrow and they advertised and verbally promised a property report within 24 hours, (the inspector told us that we'd have our report 'first thing in the morning - Friday'), the office girl who is suppose to send the inspection report to clients neglected to tell the inspector that the office wouldn't be open until 11:00am. We called and heard the message ourselves at 9:00am. Needless to say we didn't have the luxury of time time to have these and more issues addressed that were in the report, so we had to file an extension of escrow for an additional 10 days.

Tim was very professional and detail oriented. I had many questions and he was always willing to explain things. He took quite a bit of time to thoroughly go through everything in the home and his reporting on findings was clear and concise. I would recommend him and would without hesitation use him again.

Contractor was very personable, efficient and involved the buyer and seller in questions and discussion of the process. When a problem condition was identified that was not readily apparent, he explained and showed it to the buyer. He provided a report summary by e-mail in PDF format 3 hours after completing his inspection. This report contained photos, descriptions and recommendations.

Mike the home inspector was prompt and efficient. He properly inspected a 1451 sq.ft. home in just over and hour. Mike was punctual and professional. I was present during the inspection and as soon as Mike finished, he was able to show me photos and explain his concerns. The final report arrived via email the next morning, just as advertised. Not only would I hire Desert Home Inspections again, but I would also recommend them to any one needing a home inspector.

Tim of Desert Home Inspections came out and did a (buyer's) inspection of the home and roof. I stayed with him while he spent almost 3 hours examining and testing everything (appliances, fixtures, electrical, plumbing, heating/cooling units, garage, roof, etc). Tim was methodical yet efficient, focused on the job. He also used infrared thermography to identify areas of active moisture and energy loss. Then Tim reviewed with me the items that required attention. The following day I received a 61 page report which is very thorough and detailed. The photos are sharp. The descriptions and comments/remarks are concise and clear.

The report was extremely thorough with any issues found highlighted in red, along with pictures showing exactly what the issues were. They were able to do the inspection within days of the request and the report was available within 24 hours of completion. Even our realtor was impressed.

The thermal gun was really impressive and useful, thankful for that little piece of professionalism there. Our seller messed up on Utilities so Tim went back once the electric was back on. He went in the attic and up on the roof. He missed nothing, we were tired halfway through and he really seemed excited, so I would definitely recommend him to everyone who really wants to know what's going on in the new house.

We were very impressed with the knowledge of our home inspector. It was a very educational experience, and he was very patient with our many questions. The inspection report was very thorough, covering every defect in the house from minor to major, helping us prioritize what needed to be fixed. He was unable to inspect the heating unit at first, because the unit was locked, but agreed to return later in the week at no additional charge to complete this part of the inspection, which we greatly appreciated.

Desert Home Inspections worked around my work schedule: I was not able to attend, unfortunately, and I received a 59 page PDF detailing the home inspection that afternoon, with the trouble points and problems highlighted at the front. When repairs to the home had been made, they reinspected the fixes for a reduced fee. They found issues with the roof joists, air conditioner fuse, grounding and GFCIs, ducts, plumbing, carpeting, etc. A few things were missed or became issues after we moved in (gas range ignitors were dirty and caused sparking problems, an HDMI cable the previous owner fished through the walls doesn't work, among others). The overall inspection was well done and identified significant HVAC, electrical, and appliance problems.

Michael did the inspection for the house that I had put an offer on. Naturally, I was in love, however, he found several things that had the potential to be quite serious. All the time that he was doing the inspection, he was thorough and detached. There was no emotion; he just went about the job matter-of-factly and got it done. The report was amazing, and quite thorough. Whether this transaction goes through or not, it really doesn't matter. If I find myself in need of another home inspection, I will definitely call these people. Very, very satisfied with their work.

Tim is wonderful! As a first time home buyer this process has left a lot to be desired, but this was one phase of many that was perfect! This company does a killer job! The home inspection is so thorough, my agent and the seller's agent were shocked at how in depth his analysis was! I got my inspection results first thing the next day & a response immediately when I had a question! I hired Desert because of there great review history on Angie's List, but I will certainly refer and use them in the future based on their stellar performance.
