Tim Ganey showed up right on time. He started rigt away, and didn't mind if we tagged along. He was very thoughful and explained everything along the way. We now know what all the pipes and vents on the outside of our house are hooked up to. He didn't inspect the roof by walking on our concert tile because of the possible cracking but he did look through bionectalers and discovered nothing, which was great news. Throughout the house he found little problems and 1 eletrical hazard which then he tried to fix. For example, he saw that the sliding screen door wasn't on its track. He spent 5 minutes trying to figure out why. Turns out it was bent. When it came to the elictical hazard he explained that the water pump for the outside fountain wasn't on a GFI style switch. He tried to move the fountain to see if the pump was plugged onto a GFI style outlet, but couldn't find anything. He suggest not to use the fountain till you find out where the GFI is or have one installed. We haven't use the fountain since. The best part was at the end of the inpection, when he pulled out his IR camera. He explained what it was and gave a demostraision on how sensitive it was. With the camera, he found gasps in the installation but nothing serious. Now I can rest assured there is no hidden problems within the walls and ceiling.

They were affordable and they did the job right. They inspected more than I thought they would have inspected. I spent $350 on that service and I was satisfied with the results. They did above an beyond on the inspection itself. I think I got them off Angies List.

When I arrived at the home for the inspection, I was a few minutes late but Steve had already completed the roof and exterior inspection. He walked me through what he had already done and explained what he was looking for at each step. I asked a lot of questions about different aspects of the house such as if the family room was wired for a ceiling fan and he took the time to answer everything clearly. Once he was finished, he walked me through the pictures he had taken and showed me the small repairs needed. I would definitely use Desert Home Inspections again!

I first called Desert Home Inspection Services on Oct 3 and talked with Susan, one of the owners. She was most pleasant and was able to schedule an inspection the very next afternoon. She quoted the price for the inspection and also mentioned a discount coupon that was available on Angies List that I should print out and give to the inspector at the time of the inspection. She couldn't have been more helpful. Steve Ridgley, the inspector arrived on time and was fully prepared to start the inspection immediately. The inspection lasted about 1.5 hours. Steve was very knowledgable of all aspects of what to look for in a home inspection. When he found things that he felt needed attention, he spent time explaining how repairs could be made and if they could be done by me and how to do them. When a professional would be needed for plumbing or electrical repairs he made that clear and recommended that I use Angie's List to find a professional, just as I had done to find his Home Inspection Service. I had a very complete picture of what I needed to address and just how to proceed with any needed fixes. Steve forwarded a very comprehensive, detailed report with dozens of photos to me early the next morning. The report was laid our very logically, with the issues needing attention clearly summarized at the very beginning. The report was so complete that no questions came up after reading through it. Steve also was willing to answer basic questions not specifically related to the inspection, like when I asked about the wisdom for purchasing a one year Home Warranty. His reasoning made a lot of sense and he made a couple of recommendations on different places to look for a warranty. I decided to go with one that I had found on my own. I can't say enough good things about Desert Home Inspections, and anyone willing to give them a try would not be disappointed. A great company to deal with. I also probably wouldn't have found them if not for Angie's List. What a great experience.

Desert Home Inspection Services came out and did a full inspection on the house. I received a full report with pictures very promptly. This helped me understand the problem of the leak and also alerted me to other problems. Desert Home Inspection was extremely helpful in educating me regarding the problem. This helped me communicate with the home builder in an more efficient manner to get my house repaired at the home builder's expense. If the need ever arises again, I will call Desert Home Inspection Services immediately.

The customer service provided by Desert Home Inspection Services was excellent, and exceeded our expectations. Susan, the office manager, was very pleasant to deal with, and with little advance notice, ensured everything was well-coordinated. Steve, our inspector, was the ultimate professional. He was very detail-oriented and knowledgable of the home's construction and performance characteristics. Steve arrived promptly (actually early) in order to research some roofing re-work I had observed on several with other homes in the neighborhood. During the inspection, he provided detailed explanations of specific deficiencies identified and was able to intelligently answer any questions that came up. Knowing we now have a thorough understanding of the home, I feel very comfortable going forward with the purchase of a bank-owned post-forclosure home.

The inspector was ontime and professional. I received a comprehensive 68 page report with detailed information and color photographs two days after the inspection. Information on the AC units even included the condensor and evaporator temperatures. Best bargain I've had in years, a great company.

Timothy made the new home inspection process smoothly. At the end, he showed us the photos of problem areas as he pointed out the recommended repairs.

We needed a home inspection ASAP and the realtor, a buyers agent strongly wanted to use her's. But I found Desert Home on Angieslist and insisted we use them. It's our money and after 60 years of dealing with humanity there is trust...I trust they will screw you for a nickel. So they set up an appointment 2 days later. Years ago I became a real estate appraiser but never practiced. My interest was not in the selling of homes but the mechanics of a house. I love it and have kept up so I know what's good and what's shinola. Tim Ganey did the inspection and we went over everything, EVERYTHING, and he was patient and vastly knowledgeable. If Mike, and he probable is, anywhere close this search is as far as you need go. Use them. Not saying they are the only ones to use but if you pick another ask if they use a infared camera which is akin to an Xray of whats behind the walls. Our agent was so blow away she said they will be her go-too inspectors. Wow, I thought this would be a survey multiple choice and it's become an essay. The only problem I see is they'll become too busy even here in Las Vegas and their service will go in the crapper. Ah well so is life.

Overall the services were great! From our initial phone call, to setting up our appointment, to the inspection and the final report and follow-up. Desert was very courteous, safe, professional and punctual from start to finish. They welcomed us to tag along on the entire inspection, taking time and care to explain things to us in detail. They essentially started on the outside and worked their way in to and through all interior rooms/systems. Explanations were detailed and easy to understand. Digital photographs of everything, using both macro and flash photography as needed, were taken throughout the inspection. Tim had seemingly bottomless pockets and holsters from which he pulled out all various tools and equipment to conduct the inspection. and most importantly, Tim conducted the inspection very safely; at no time did we observe anything that made us uncomfortable or feel unsafe. The inspection was very thorough, and the report was prepared expeditiously and just as thorough - we had the report e-mailed to us in less than 24 hrs after the inspection. The results of Desert's inspection helped us negotiate with the seller to address most of the issues identified from the inspection - Thank You Desert!!

I called Mike to set up an appointment. From the minute he answered the phone and started talking to me about Home Inspections, I knew that I was going to be dealing with a fantastic company. In 6/24, Tim came to the house we are going to be purchasing, he arrived exactly at 1pm as promised. He stated that the inspection would take approximately 3-4 hours to complete. Thoughout the inspection he would give me little updates as to the progress. On another note, my 2 1/2 year old son wanted to help him soooo bad, Tim had no problem letting him tag along and even thanked him for helping once he was finished. Very much appreciated. Time completed the inspection in about 3 1/2 hrs, after which he let us know of 4 minor issues with the house. This company even performs a Thermal Scan to see if there is any moisture behind the walls. Which gives you an extra sense of security. He promised I would have the report the next morning. Sure enough, the report showed up as a 65 page PDF file with tons of pictures. My realtor even stated that this was the best inspection she had ever seen done. Thanks Tim for a fantastic job and the added sense of security I have buying this house.

You could hear her smile over the phone. Her husband, Michael did the inspection. He was very knowledgeable and very easy to talk with.
