The person who did the work was absolutely the stellar and I would call them again in a flash if I needed anything done. The electrician was phenomenal.
Description of Work: They installed new lights in the garage, porch and did other electrical works. They also put fans and traced down switches for me.

Exceptional! I quickly received replies to my Angie's List inquiry with them, prompt appointment was scheduled, Dave arrived in the two hour window as planned, he removed his shoes without me even having to ask him, quickly figured out the problem, was sooooooo nice, communicated everything and was very thorough in his explanation of the problem. I ran to the hardware store obtained what he needed for the switches and he replaced everything. He cleaned up after himself and was so polite and nice. WHAT A GREAT, GREAT EXPERIENCE. Thank you so much.....to Desert Electric and to Angie's List for a job well done. Will use them absolutely again!
Description of Work: Dave arrived to evaluate my non-working lights in two rooms. Found my dimmer switches were no longer working and advised me of such. We discussed my options, what needed to happen, what he needed to do, and I agreed to have him proceed with the repair of the switches which he did. I even asked if I could run and purchase the new switches from my local hardware store to save me a few pennies, which he kindly agreed to!

Electrician was prompt and courteous. He helped me carry the new oven from the garage to the kitchen for installation into the cabinet. I was very pleased with the job overall.

We've had a problem with an outlet ... during an electrical storm it burned out an expensive coffee maker ... we pushed the GFI and bought a new coffee maker. Last Friday our coffee maker went out ... we reset the GFI and it burned out the coffee maker. Today Desert Home Electric replaced the GFI and checked out all the outlets in that section of the kitchen to make sure nothing was wrong with them. Very fast and neat.

We had problems with our kitchen lights that two other electricians were not able to fix. I called Desert Home Electric based on the reviews on Angie's list, and I was not disappointed. They sent someone out within 24 hours of my call. The electrician was very friendly, showed up on time, found and corrected all the problems we had, cleaned up afterwards, and it all cost less than I thought it would. I would definitely use Desert Home Electric again.

Description of Work: I purchased 2 ceiling fans (one small & one large) for two bedrooms and needed them installed. I called Deser Home Electric and scheduled an appointment within 1 week. The individual showed on time, came in to view the work required and started working right away. The fan installation was quick, convenient, and very easy (for me anyways - he did all the work). He showed me how to use the fans, which switches to use, and answerd the questions I had. He even offered to clean up and take the boxes out of my home. I was very satisfied with the timeliness and work.

One person came and he showed up very punctually at 8:00 am in the morning. His service was excellent. I would absolutely use them again.
Description of Work: I had a problem with the photocell on my automatic lights outside my home. I have both interior and exterior lights and they weren't turning on. I was told the photocell connector would need to be replaced, but all the wires concerned me because I wasn't sure if they were live. They replaced the photocell and fixed some wiring.

They put in the kind of smoke detector where the battery lasts 10 years for our convenience. They came out on time and they did a very good job and their prices were reasonable as well.

The GFI that is connected to my bathroom stopped working. The light and fan connected to it stopped working. I called Desert Home Electric and scheduled an appointment. They sent out an electrician to my house at the appointed time. He called to be sure I was there. He quickly replaced the GFI and trouble shot to find the cause of the short circuit and found it in my water heater circulating pump. He then fixed the faulty smoke alarm and installed a new thermostat quickly. He was professional and courteous throughout the encounter.

My husband was drilling into our garage ceiling to place some bike hanging hooks. Unfortunately we saw an orange spark and stopped drilling right away! I looked on Angies list that night for electricians and started calling for quotes the next day. Desert Home Electric returned my call the same day and from my description of the problem, Steve gave me a phone estimate of $125 - $150. He came out the same week, performed the work, and the price was right on. I think he did an excellent job and the service gave me peace of mind, since I was worried about a fire or overloading the damaged electrical wire. They seemed like a very reputable company from their website and the Angie's list comments; this is why I chose them and I'm glad I did!
Description of Work: My husband was home for the repair, so I don't have as much detail as I would like. The electrician who provided service checked for the problem we described and actually found that our story was incorrect. He found that we drilled into our AC unit electrical line vs. our master bedroom electrical line. He found the problem and had to cut two playing card size rectangles in our ceiling to get the lines. He had to cut the electrical line where we drilled into and run/add an extension of the line, since there was no slack available. There were two junction boxes placed where the new connections were placed (to prevent fires) and outlet type covers were placed where the rectangular holes were cut. When I arrived home it didn't even look like there was a problem, since there was no mess and the holes were covered seamlessly. I would definitely recommend and reuse this company. The price was right on and lower than other Angie's list electrician's quotes.

Description of Work: We had 2 circuit breakers that would not reset. Dave found 2 dead shorts, loose wire in circuit breaker panel, 3-way switch wired incorrectly. Everything works perfectly now!

They were very professional. The representative came out to take the information for an estimate and emailed me a detailed estimate the next day. They stuck to the quoted price, even though they encountered a more difficult job than anticipated due to the way some of the existing wiring had been installed. I would recommend them to anyone who needed electrical or lighting work done.
Description of Work: They installed recessed lights in two rooms, two ceiling fans, rewired an existing ceiling fan, ran speaker wires through the walls and ceiling for a "zone 2" set-up in the kitchen.

I HAD 2 PEOPLE WORKING ON THIS ESTIMATE. ONE THAT LOOKED AT THE JOB - THE OTHER MAKING THE PHONE CALL WITH PRICING. DUE TO A MISCOMMUNICATION EACH GUY THOUGHT THE OTHER HAD CALLED CUSTOMER. We had 3-4 companies come out to give us estimates and they were all at least 4 x the price, but when Desert Electric came out, they had the best price of everyone and they had the circuit breaker (which is very old and hard to get) within a week. Their representative was very, very professional, courteous and HONEST.

The lights and fans weren't working in our bathrooms after a short trip. No breakers had been tripped. Resetting the GFIs didn't work. When I called to have them come take a look they suggested looking for a "faceless" GFI and resetting it. They even helped me locate ours. Sure enough that solved the problem. They were extremely friendly and obviously quite helpful.

In scheduling the work, they made sure they understood what I wanted done and suggested options to me for how it could be done and what products to use. On the day of the work, they were prompt professional and clean. They worked efficiently and were pleasant.

All the other companies I called wanted to replace the whole electrical box. They said it couldn't be repaired without replacing the box. When I found Desert Home Electric, I knew I had found the right man! I would recommend them to anyone and the price was very reasonable.

I had called another company and waited 2 days for them to show up. I called Desert Home, late on Wednesday afternoon. I was given precise information of costs (the "what-if" situations) and told an electrician would be at my home between 8 - 11 am on Friday. The electrician called at 8:30, arrived at 8:32, and completed the work (? a wire had not been reattached after some patio work) by 9:00 am! Only the minimum service call fee was charged. It is refreshing to have someone show up on time, when promised!
