+ -1 moreAfter having a handyman and then someone that did electrical work on the side come and go and figure out while several of the rooms in my home had lost electricity, I decided to call a real professional. Dave from Desert Home came to my home, was nice professional and diagnosed and fixed my problem in an hour. I was extremely happy with the work and the price. I highly recommend this company and Dave.

+ -1 moreWe had an electrical problem - all of the bathroom sockets were not working. We didn't know that there was a GFI button in the garage (in California the button is right in each socket). Rather than coming out and charging us - explained the most likely problem and suggested several places to look to find the GFI button that controls the electrical sockets. We found it in the garage - no visit - no cost. Thank you Desert Home Electric.

Description of Work: We had ceiling fans installed in 2 rooms with no electrical to the ceiling (did have attic space however). Company was able to give quote over the phone and install two days later. Employee came out on appointed day and was punctual and polite. Came in and installed the ceiling fans and remote. Completed job took about 2 and half hours. Employee left rooms clean. Ceiling fans work great and look wonderful!

+ -1 moreThey answered the phone call immediately, found the problem quickly, searched for the least expensive part, fixed our problem and were courteous, timely, honest, and experienced.
Description of Work: Our electricity went out in only half of our house and none of the major appliances were working, including our A/C. We called at 7am and Desert Home Electric came out within the hour and identified the problem quickly. They found the best price on breaker (which is no longer manufactured). It had to be overnighted from the midwest. As soon as they received the part the next day, they came back and replaced the breaker. Since the part would not arrive until the next day, the electrician was able to restore electricity to most of the major appliances, including our refrigerator (we were able to save our food from spoiling) , until the new part arrived. Because the breaker was discontinued, the part price was expensive. However, Desert did not upcharge us on it . They were courteous, timely, and honest. They could have easily told us that the whole breaker panel needed to be replaced which costs between 2,500 and 3,500. Instead they located the discontinued breaker part and only replace that. The total cost was about 530 which included the part and labor.

They called back to discuss the problem, tell me the rates and set up time for between 1:30 & 4 PM. Jorge called to let us know he was going ot be a little early, was very professional and respectful, did the work without any fuss, explained the work order and bill; took some pictures for a estimate on future work. A very good experience!
Description of Work: Fixed GFI switch and replaced second switch; disconnected circuit that was causing the GFI to trip and returned the equipment to operational status.

I was told that I would receive an emailed estimate by the end of the week. I have not received an estimate. I had two estimates($475 and $350) from other companies, one of which I chose. But I did lose about a week while waiting for Desert Home Electric's estimate.

Asked if a specific date and time was agreeable with me. Gave me a specific timeline an electrician would be at my residence. The electrian arrived during the specified timeline. Introduced himself and asked questions regarding my problem. Began working and explained exactly what he was going to do. Completed the task in a timely, efficient manner. Completed the paperwork. Informed me that I could call the office with any questions at any time.
Description of Work: Replaced plug to dryer outlet. Inspected breaker panel. Tighten al screws.

+ 0 moreThey called the morning of the appointment to verify ceiling height in order to make sure that they brought the right size ladder. They arrived promptly. The electrician confirmed and made sure he understood exactly what the issues were before he began work. The lighting in the garage had a problem that required a special part. He called in and had one brought out to him on the spot, so he could complete all repairs in one visit. When the part was delivered, the other employee stayed to help the electrician complete repairs quicker, and even offered to help change some very high lightbulbs, that I would have needed special equipment to reach. This was an excellent experience. I will use this company again, and recommend to friends and family.

+ -1 moreWe're totally satisfied, and learned something about our house wiring. We feel stupid, but relieved that this was a minor issue and quickly resolved. One thing: a coupon was mentioned on the Angies List site, but we forgot to ask about it and their website doesn't mention it. I've emailed the company to ask about it.
Description of Work: We had a light go out in an interior bathroom and couldn't figure out why since the vent fan was working just fine. Electrician diagnosed the problem and fixed it in about 5 minutes! Turns out the GFI for the light was on a different circuit than the fan, although they shared a switchplate. And the GFI for the light was behind a cabinet in the garage. Go figure. Our next assignment will be to map which circuits are where!

Parts were ordered for other work and completed two days later. Technician arrived on time, with all parts and was able to complete the work. Bill was exactly the estimate and no incremental charges to provide the estimate. I will re-hire them.
Description of Work: Three outlets added in outdoor spaces. Dining light fixture wasn't working, electrician found cause and repaired. Dimmer switch added to the dining room light.

Steve came out within an hour and determined that the A/C had caused the breaker to trip; the electricity was fine. He was courteous and very pleasant and even spoke with the A/C technician. And the charge for a Friday night visit was very reasonable. I will definitely be calling Desert Home Electric again.

He and his assistant were very courteous and knowledgable, performing the work in record time. They were very professional, and we were most impressed with the time they took to actually clean up the areas they worked in, making sure they picked up any debris that remained from their job AND offered to take the boxes and parts to the trash instead of leaving it behind for the homeowner (which happens a lot with other contractors we've used)! The office staff was friendly, calls were returned promptly, and we will definitely use (and recommend) this company again. Thanks Dave!!!

A technician performed a one hour inspection and in several days sent a written proposal for simplifying the system and replacing switches. Over several days, Dave performed the trouble shooting, rewiring, and replacing components. He proved to be a exceptionally professional and courteous. All work was performed on time, on budget, and miraculuously everything worked! This company is a class act!!
Description of Work: This home had a X-10 customized automated switching system installed 20 years ago. It was very complicated with banks of light switches in most rooms that could control the lights over all the house. Over the years some of the components had either failed or become unreliable. Several electricians had inspected the system and said this was impossible for them to diagnose.

Description of Work: Just bought a house and needed electrical inspection/repair of a number of non-working items, including GFI's, ceiling fan, range hood, oven (no one could find the circuit breakers for it) and some floor outlets. Two reverse wired GFI's and one non working GFI were repaired/replaced. Range hood was diagnosed and floor outlets were repaired.
