They responded very quickly and Dave was tenacious in his investigation of the reason for the GFI not resetting and figuring out where the problem was. He came 3 times in all as he rewired the 2 sockets one at a time so we would have some light immediately. He was very pleasant to work with and seemed very knowledgable. The work was performed 8 months ago and there have been no problems since then. I have had them back recently (April) to replace a faulty smoke detector inside the house mounted on a high ceiling that I was unable to reach. Once again Dave did an excellent job and came the same day I called. I have been happy with their services and will continue to use them for any future electrical work.

Estimator was on time and very professional. The 2 man team who came to do the work, only 2 days after estimate, were on time. During the work they were very professional and completed ahead of schedule. Was very impressed with the level of craftmanship. The workers themselves were very polite and cleaned up extremely well after themselves. I would definitely use Desert Home Electric Inc again.

Went smoothly - the two employees showed up on time, went over the lay of the land, and got to work. Took a little over an hour to complete the changes that were needed and push the oven into the cabinet. As I had transported the oven 3,000 miles I was (very) glad to see the lights come on, and the oven heat up. While the estimate was over the phone there was no changes to the quote by reason of parts used or anything that might not have been expected (although I don't believe they encountered anything unexpected.)

The process went very well. I would highly recommend them.

Overall everything was super. The electrician came right out the day I called him, he determined the problem and solved the problem in a speedy manner at an affordable price. I would use this company again if needed.

Jorge gave me an estimate of $250.00. When he finished the job, he charged me $215.00. That included parts and labor. That was good. First, he repaired the lighting fixtures in the kitchen area then then he replaced two ballast and two sets of floresents tubes. In the dinning area, he repaired the chandelier and installed a new switch. Last he connected my new dvd-vcr combo that I had just received via FedEx about and hour before came. 1. On both visits, the electrician wore slip-on "booties" over his shoes in our home as a prevention against soiling our floors. Removed all debris related to his work afterwards. 2. Electrician was obviously knowledgeable about his trade and answered all questions to the Owner's satisfaction. There was no unnecessary chit-chat that would have added to the labor cost. Electrician did his work efficiently and left when the job was completed. 3. My wife and I would not hesitate to call Desert Home Electric for any future electrical needs that are beyond my limited expertise in this area.

The work was to install two ceiling boxes and a single switch in an upstairs bedroom for track lighting. They did not hang fixtures as I did not have all the fixtures yet and planned to do the installation myself. Juan and Carlos were on time and had a professional appearance. They put down plastic sheeting before starting work, and left the room as neat as it was before they started. They positioned the ceiling boxes exactly where I wanted them and replaced the existing single switch box with a double switch box which made for a neat appearance. In fact the entire job was done neatly and professionally, and before they left they capped all the exposed wiring in the boxes leaving it electrically safe. The entire job took about 90 minutes. I would definitely use Desert Home again.

My microwave started to act funny when I was trying to heat something up. I guess it was overloading the circuit, because it then shorted out my alarm system, causing it to smoke. I went to the Home Depot thinking it was my GFI, but they told me it couldn't be that since the microwave is on a dedicated circuit. They told me I needed a new microwave. So I bought a new microwave and installed it. The next morning my wife was trying to use the microwave and it did not work. It did however short out the electric starter on my gas stove. It was at this point that I called Desert Electric. The lady who answered the phone was very courteous and set me up with an appointment for the next day. The man arrived on time and I explained what was happening. He started testing my outlets and determined that it was a bad GFI and replaced it for me. Now everything works fine.

Technician got right to work and had it completely fixed "in no time". Very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

I called. Approximately, two hours later Ociel arrived. He took out the old smoke detectors and installed the new ones. He did a great job. It didn't take long. We were impressed that he put plastic covers over his shoes, as not to tract dirt from the outside. The price was for the new smoke detectors and labor.

My son and I were very pleased with all aspects of the service, from the phone call to Stephen, the immediated service call and completion of the job.

While away for the Christmas holiday, our eight smoke alarms were tripped. They had tripped a week prior to our leave. The fire dept. said to change all eight batteries. And if they tripped again, it meant we might have a faulty unit or faulty wiring. Our smoke detectors are hard-wired to the house, so we learned that when one is faulty or low on battery, all eight are affected. The only way to shut off the alarms was to turn off the circuit breaker that powers them. So much happened the night the alarms were tripped during our absence and there's not enough room here to write a book about it. So jumping to the end of this story: After scheduling two electrical companies to replace the smoke detectors, then canceling them (the first one due to incompetence and sent by American Home Shield, and the second due to a quote of $800 and four hours to replace eight smoke detectors), we decided to check out Angie's List. We bought a year's membership, then looked for a Grade A company with excellent reviews. Desert Home Electric was at the top of the list...and now I understand why. Owner Steve was understanding and knowledgeable about my problem during our initial phone call at 11 a.m. He said he'd have someone out to my home after lunch. "Dave" called me at 1:30 p.m. and said he was 20 minutes away. When he arrived, fully equipped and ready to work, we talked for a few minutes about the problem. He understood the problem immediately and got to work. But he also gave me some reassurance and settled my fear of the problem reoccurring. He was so patient and professional. Dave replaced all eight smoke detectors in one hour and charged me what Steve quoted me over the phone or $280. This kind of service is hard to find in Las Vegas, as we experienced with the first two. I'm so happy with their service. And I'm happy I subscribe to Angie's List now. I plan on calling Desert Home Electric, and only them, for all my electrical going forward. I wish I could give them 10 stars because that's what they deserve.

I was able to talk to Steve,the serviceman on the phone, not just an office worker or operator. He gave me a three hour window and was here within the 1st hour. He found the problem right away and fixed it in about 15 minutes. He only charged me for 15 minutes of labor. He was very courteous and professional and told me what to look for if it happens again I will definitely call Desert Home Electrical if I need an electrician in the future..

On one of the coldest days we have in las vegas the main breaker on my rental property gave out. My renters were forced to leave the house to find warmth somewhere else. I called Desert Home Electric in a panic, after reading the other good reviews about this company. I cannot say enough good things about them. They had someone out in about an hour and he worked outside with high winds and cold tempatures for a few hours trying to get the electric back on. It was a Friday afternoon and we both knew that it needed to get turned back on before the weekend started. The technician was very professional and worked to get the power restored. The owner called me to check on things and kept me informed as to what was taking place. I would highly recommend this company. They are the only people I will call if another situation arises.

My kitchen and dining room lights stooped working I had called one company on angies list but they were already tied up and couldn't make it out however they recommend that I call Desert Home Electric because they had a bigger crew and maybe had someone free to come out. I have to say that i admire a company that would refer to another when there not able to help. Being an avid do it yourself type person I tried to look at it myself and did the basic things to check it out and as it got beyond my scope of knowledge I had to call someone out. I called them and he said he would see if someone was able to come out and with a call to me within a half hour a man was on his way over. David showed up promptly and diagnosed the problem within minutes and he explained the problem fully in that there was no ground for the wires. We went to the fuse panel and found that the ground wires were lose and burnt from the connection. He removed the burnt portion of not only that wire but all the ground wires so I wouldn't have a problem in the future. Also found that 2 different gauge wires were on the same connection which he recommended that they should be separate. He repaired the wires in the panel and also put the wall switches back in that I had opened up to see why it wasn't working. I really liked that David explained everything as he went along and fixed what was wrong it not only fixed the problem but now I am more knowledgeable in it as well. I would highly recommend this company and also David to anyone and will use them in the future.

Circuit breaker to the frigerator would trip once in a while. They came and replaced it.

I called to get an estimate for the necessary new circuit. Desert was the original electrical contractor when the home was built. Said they could submit bid based on knowledge of installation without home visit. Received bid by email and authorized work. Scheduled for one day after heat pump was installed. Electrician arrived while I was out but wife was home. When I returned job was nearly complete. Job was completed about an hour later. Final connection to new heat pump was done by A/C installer. A 15% Angie's List member discount offer was applied to the job.
