Dekes Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

Darren did a great job. Caught them at the right time and Darren arrived within 20 minutes on a 110+ degree day. Best part was that we were a little concerned on the cost but we didn't say anything except that we were surprised on the cost of freon. Jen called us withing 24 hours and let us know that there was a miscalculation and they overcharged us. We will absolutely continue to trust Deke's for future work and will continue to recommend Deke's to everyone.

I asked about a contract but as long as you maintain your burner you don't need a contract. Our service we upgraded it when we bought the house. It was quite reasonable. I would rate it 100%. They were here right away. I would use them again. I have used them twice. I had another company but when the guy we regularly used left we didn't call them again. I would recommend them highly. It wasnt very long it is just a matter of unplugging and replacing because I clean my burner myself.

This was the first visit. It was an A, thats why I called them back.

Based on the initial conversataion with the owner, who answered the phone, my intuition strongly tells me that this provider is honest and will not try to gauge a customer on a repair. Based on the questions we asked, and the responses we received, we strongly believe that this provider will be honest about what needs to be fixed in the future and will not overcharge us or do unecessary repairs.

They are very quick to call back and sent someone out within an hour. He did not know how to work my current thermostat but somehow diagnosed it as being defective. He replaced my programable thermostat with a non programable one that costs $27 at Home Depot but charged me $110 for that piece of junk. I would not use these people. They use cheap items and charge you 4 times as much. What really annoyed me is that he never asked and as anyone here in Vegas knows a non programable thermostate is going to cost a lot in the long run. No, I will never call these people again and if you do decide to call them make sure you get what you want.

Have used Dekes a few times for different requests. (Changing out a old AC Compressor,etc) They are a smaller family run team, so I give them a bit more leeway on response time but they more than make it up in service and price. Most AC companies gouge folks for all they can, I have seen it happen to friends. When I tell them to call Dekes I know they will get the best service and nobody will try to rip them off. This time I had them work on the ducting to get better AC in two rooms. The design of my house is such that to two distant bedrooms just don't get enough AC. Steve came out and added a new line, rerouted existing lines and check and sealed all the ducts. This is really important as the lines tend to develop leaks over the years as the tape that holds everything together starts to come apart. The changes helped out a lot. May be I add a dedicated mini system in the future, but I know exactly who I will call when I do.

They're the most honest and professional people I've dealt with. They are phenomenal, and I highly recommend them.

Steve showed up on time as scheduled. Performed service when I was away from home, at work. Returned later that day and replaced the unit for one low price. Excellent all the way around.

They arrived on time. They identified the problem right away and were able to replace the fan motor with a new one that they had with them. They checked the freon level and compressor operation as well. They were efficient and reasonably priced.

They NEVER returned my call.

I have had Deke's do an annual check of my A/C units for more years than I can remember. Always punctual, efficient and makes sure all of my needs are met. After the check, I get an honest evaluation of the condition of my units and any preventive maintenance that should be done. I feel that by having Deke's check my units annually, before the heat of summer, I have saved money in the long run.

He arrived on the day he was due. Called when he was outside so I could control my dogs. He first inspected the ac unit. Cleamed it out and replaced a minor part. He checked by heating unit and said it was good to go and working fine. He did not attempt in any way to sell me something I did not need. I asked for and purchased a new thermostat, which he had in his truck and installed. That part came with a five year warranty. I was so worried about someone coming out and looking at my systems, I had heard so many horror stories. I would call them again for any of my airconditiong and heating needs. They cerainly lived up to all of their good ratings.

The repairman checked both units and found that the unit I was concerned about was working fine; my other unit needed a condenser fan motor. I had just noticed a strange sound coming from that unit the day before, so Deke's caught it in time. Deke's also advised me that the unit that wasn't heating fast enough (for me) was functioning fine, just struggling against the hard freezes we were having. Both units are working fine now, with no problems. As always, my friends and coworkers marvel at how honest Deke's has been with me, and how fair their prices are. Most of my neighbors already use Deke's.

I made the appointment for my rental house. They showed up for appointment on time and within hours of call, same day. since i was not present at my rental unit, I wished they had included a summary of why the unit was low on Freon and posible ways or costs to detect the leak on the receiptThe only problem I had with them was that he charge for the thermostat was more than double of what you would pay for online or at home depot.

I called them last night and they couldn't get anyone out to my house at that time to fix my AC which wasn't working at all. I live in Las Vegas so AC is a MUST in JULY. They said maybe the next day but they would call me...They didn't call until the NEXT NIGHT! (tonight) I told them I already had someone from another company come out to do the repair but that I still wanted a quote for a new unit. Mine is 26 years old and it's beyond it's last leg so I'm a MOTIVATED buyer. They wanted to charge me 75 bucks to come out to give me a quote...no free estimate. They said IF I buy from them they would apply the charge to the price, but I'm sorry, that was not enticing at all! Not when there are plenty of other Angies list A rated companies that give free estimates. Plus, if I decide not to use them then I'm out money. Lame. Deke's you have to spend money to make money! You should reconsider your estimate policy, you lost my potential business with your current policy. I guess you must not need the work or business, must be nice!

We were hanging shelves in our garage and pierced a copper pipe with a screw. The AC unit bled out in about 30 minutes. Called Dekes and they came out a day or two later. This was back in early May so it wasn't a rush to get the AC running immediately. Steve and his dad showed up and did a quick fix on the pipe then filled the empty AC unit and topped off the second unit. We called 3 different companies and Steve was the only one who suggested using a new freeon alternative which cost us about a third of the price. How come no one else suggested this money saver to us? We'll stick with Steve from here on out.

I bought a repo house in Vegas. Did not know if the AC/heater worked or not. Deke's came out the day after I called them. Did a total inspection and service. Replaced one part. Very professional. Will absolutely use them again.

Called them at 3:30 on Friday and they had someone there by 6pm. The unit was cooling but was making a loud noise. I called but did not seem too urgent but within the hour the inside temp was 83. Darren found that a wheel in the blower had completely come apart....hence all the noise and when it feel apart the unit quit altogether. By 7:30 pm things were cool again. Love Deke's!
