I am amazed at how prompt, professional and reasonably priced his services were. David installed 4 ceiling fans in 3 hours and was extremely pleasant and professional. All of the fans work great and are super quiet and well balanced. i would definitely use him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for an electrician. I felt very confident that he knew exactly what he was doing.

Description of Work: Dave did a great job installing 5 ceiling fans with lights in our new home that came pre wired for ceiling fans. He had the best price for fan installation out of 3 other companies.

Great job! We repositioned and replaced a few receptical outlets in our garage for our three large chest freezers. My concern was there wasn't sufficient power to accomodate these. Additionally, sometimes a kitchen appliance would get over loaded and trip the breaker. Dave from Dand B showed me a couple of tests he preformed and explained the amps with regard to the electrical load in a way I could understand. He solved our problem, eased our concerns, and assured us of our safety. Everything is perfect, right down to the invoice, all I can say is WOW. Thank you Dave @ Dand B and thank you Angies List!
Description of Work: Tested our electrical system to determine electrical load for our appliances in the gargage and also tested our appliances in the kitchen for amp loads. Replaced 3 garage outlet recepticals and repositioned a double 30 amp so we would have better access. Answered all of my questions and thoroughly explained how our system worked and how we can expect our appliances to operate together under our various electrical loads.

Had a very complicated doorbell problem. Two chimes in different locations (downstairs and upstairs) connected to two doorbells - both front door, in different locations. Previous owner had removed transformer and the wiring was all telephone wire (very small wires). I installed a new transformer, but after spending several hours trying to get these working (should be the simplest wiring problem), I gave up and called David. Added the installation of 5 ceiling fans to the job. David came out as scheduled and he and I (passing him parts) installed all 5 fans in 2 hours which I thought was pretty quick work. Next he tackled the doorbell problem. Thought this would be pretty simple, but there were two sets of wires and it took a lot of work to figure out how they were all connected. This was complicated by the fact that the wires were too small to conduct enough current to make the bells work - even when David had the connections right. At the end of the day, he had to replace the transformer with a bigger one and double up the wires to conduct enough current. All this took an additional 2 and a half hours with a lot of troubleshooting and back and forth between both sets of chimes, the transformer and the button locations. The good news is that David knows his stuff, has been in the business quite awhile and is VERY pleasant to work with. The final bill was high, but very reasonable considering it took 4 and a half hours of his time, and I doubt if another less experienced electrician would have figured it out. Thanks David. I will definitely call David for any other electrical work. As an aside. All of the contractors that I have used (about 6) to work on my recently purchased home in Las Vegas have come from Angie's list - and I haven't been disappointed, not even once. I recommend Angie's to everyone.

I called Dave and made an appointment for the next day to fix my circuit breaker. He was on time (didn't know he came from so far away) pleasant and professional. I had forgotten to ask how much he charged to come out and wished I had as it took him 10 seconds to fix my problem! There was nothing wrong with the breaker, I just didn't know how to throw the switch! I asked him how much to just come out and he said $100 so we decided I better have him do something! We made a deal to install two weatherproof outdoor outlets and replace my light switch in the bedroom. He said it would take about an hour and we agreed on $200. All went well and when he couldn't fix the remote for my ceiling fan he got one out of his truck and gave it to me. It was and quot;gunkyand quot; and we laughed about beggers not being choosy. Well now it's sparkling clean and hung up and works just great. I think you pay more for an electrician to do the work rather than a handyman, bit I think it's worth it to know it's done right. Was very happy with him. And he was fun! :) He's my electrician now . . . .and all my friend's new electrician now . . .

I called Dave and he was out to give an estimate very quickly, on the same day. I was guessing that the price would be around $1,000, but he quoted me a price of $380. He did a superb job, removing the old fixtures, rewiring to accommodate the new ones and then installing the new ones. He took great care to make sure the fixtures line up exactly evenly and that we were happy with the job. We were very happy. He was very professional, very courteous and was on time. I have just called him to get him to do another job and I have no hesitation about recommending him to others.

The electrician I had scheduled to do the work decided half an hour before the appointment not to show up, even though I had reluctantly agreed to pay his exorbitant fee. It was crucial in my mind to have the work done that day. My husband was coming home the next day from rehab. He was considered disabled and did not want to hire a nurse to help him in the bathroom. I decided to go to Angie's List this time and chose an A rated company from your list, D and B Electric. I told the serviceman my dilemma. He said he was super busy but would go ahead and do the work. He came a little later after the job he was working on; he did the work quickly and professionally. So the work was done in time for my husband's arrival home the next day. I am so so grateful to D and B Electric for going truly above and beyond the call of duty---and also for not charging me too much. I will most definitely call this company first next time I need electrical work done.

Dand B Electric showed up right on time! Very prompt and very personable! He took a look at what I needed done, gave me a quote, we agreed and he went right to work. Since we were remodeling my parents home to sell, this was the last thing on our list. Everything went very smooth and he took extra care on the master bath light fixture since it was somewhat delicate. We really appreciated how he took care to place it out of the way until it was needed. This went so smooth and fast. It was a real pleasure to do business with someone who knows what he's doing and is so professional. We would use D and B Electrical anytime in the future for our electrical needs!!!

Dave's service was excellent. He quickly rewired our new dishwasher to fir the proper kitchen outlet and repaired a ceiling fan. Dave let us know the other ceiling fan that we wanted repair would be more cost-effective to just buy another one rather than have it serviced. I will definitely use Dave again because of his quick service and his honesty!

Excellent. Would recommend without a doubt. This guy KNOWS what he is doing.
Description of Work: We needed our gas dryer line converted to electric - install a 220. He was great, came out to give me an estimate, showed up on time or early everytime. We had to delay work a few weeks and he called to follow-up/see if we were ready. Once he started the job it turned out to be more involved than he had originally thought, and advised me to possiblly go a different route. He came back later that day to explain the problem/complications to my husband, we decided to go ahead with the project and even though it was more difficult for him he did not charge us much more. Did a great job, cleaned up after himself, very knowledgeable, will definitely hire again for can lights.

The person who comes to do your work is the person who owns the company. You leave a voicemail because he's often so busy he can't answer his own phone. He'll call you back and set up an appointment. It doesn't usually take too many days for him to come and do your work. When he makes an appointment he is on time. He does wonderful work and is very knowledgeable; I just wish that he did more electrical work than what he does. The price that he quotes you is the price that he charges you. He was really good. I would definitely use him again. In fact, I've used him twice!
Description of Work: The first time I hired him it was to fix the florescent kitchen light that went out, and he was able to make suggestions for the future. The second time, we had him place a new light kit on our dining room ceiling fan, install a ceiling fan on our front porch, and make an adjustment on a light switch for me.

Dave came out the same minute I called b/c he happened to be driving down the street. He told me much more about my system than I ever knew. Within no time he was able to get the outdoor outlets functioning so I could work my water line system ASAP. He was friendly and wasted no time. It's expensive to hire an electrician but Dave is top notch. Thank you so much.

David is wonderful; he is ontime, honest, and showed up ready to work. He listened attentively to what I wanted corrected and done, and then provided his input and began work right away. He fixed a problem that two other electricians could never fix in ample time to complete all the other projects. He performed a lot of work in a short amount of time, and was very neat and had all the tools necessary to complete multiple jobs. We didn't want him to leave and were thinking of more projects for him to do. We will definately have him back for any electrical or lighting needs, and we have already told our friends about how great he is. Finally an honest service in Vegas!
Description of Work: Rewired several three way switches, installed dimmers, ran new wiring for ceiling fan/light combo, corrected wiring to additional ceiling fan light combo, and installed box. Corrected smoke alarm wiring, and corrected light fixture hanging, and remounted a pendant light flush to ceiling. Advised me on some outdoor lighting in the yard.

Very well for him. He charged $480 / hour based on his 10 minutes of service.
Description of Work: Problem: Bathroom power off. He misrepresented the problem as a bad circuit breaker as he gave the estimate. He agreed to replace the breaker, if needed, and restore power for $80. Once the estimate was accepted, he did not test or check any breakers but instead walked directly to the bathroom outlet and pressed the reset button. His entire time spent was 10 minutes including estimate.

Response from D & B Electric
We are sorry you feel this way. I'm not sure whether you got the story right from her or you just want to make it sound bad. However there are a few things that need to be noted....First off, there is no listing for your address in our records any of the days around June 30th. HOWEVER, at your house on FAIRCREST, on July 1, a woman had called and wanted a quote over the phone of what it would be to fix her bathroom electrical problem, she was insisting it was a bad breaker. I quoted $80 to take care of the problem. SHE thought it was a bad breaker, I never said anything about a breaker. When I got to your house, the switches and outlets were out of the wall apparently you had tried to fix it yourself, and were unsuccessful. I put all of those back in, plus reset the GFI, AND then she insisted that I replace the breaker anyway, so I changed it out for a new one. She then proceeded to state that she was going to ruin "my name". It looks like you are trying to do that. It is sad that people lie just because it was an easy fix and you are frustrated that you didn't do it yourself. I went above and beyond what I had said I would do. She was told the problem would be fixed for $80 both on the phone and once I was at the property. She agreed to the price. Was your problem fixed? Yes. Was it fixed for the quoted price? Yes. It was fixed and then some, including a new breaker which you didn't need. I also showed her where the GFI was located for future reference, so she could do it herself next time. (which ISNT in the bathroom as you stated, its on the east wall in your garage, in the cabinets) Education is valuable. For future reference, a service call is a set fee. Its the amount you pay to have a qualified electrician come to your house. Punctuality, I was there BEFORE she got to the house. I'd say that's an "A"

Arrived a little early, with a helper. determined where to move the smoke alarm and cut the hole for the box in the ceilng, then went into the attic space to pull the necessary wiring. As his helper installed the fixtures in the boxes, David measured out the spaces for the can lights. When ,marking the holes, he encountered an obstruction and had to go up in the attic space to determing what was in the way. We agreed to move the fixtures a couple of inches to clear the obstruction, then he cut the holes in the new locations, and went up and strung the wire for them, and tied into the existing fixture wireinf so all would work together.. While his helper installed the cans, David determined where we could drop down the wire for the cabinet lighting, and drilled for that. Then it was up into the attic again to pull the wire for the new fixtures, and to tie into the existing fixture, so they would all work from the same switch.
Description of Work: Installed new lighting in hallway, which required moving hard-wired smoke alarm and adding a box for one fixture. Added under counter lighting in kitchen, tying into an existing fixture's wiring. Added three can lights in another hallway, tying into an existing fixture's switch

I called David in the morning and he was just getting to a job and said he would be be sometime in the afternoon. I was going to be home anyway, so no worries. About 2 or so in the PM David got to my house and I proceeded to explain the two jobs I needed to get done. He was somewhat familiar with the powersave unit to be installed next to the electric box in the garage. About the only ?? was it to be installed on a dedicated two pole 20 amp 220 volt breaker -- Wwaa?. I had install instructions for the powersave unit, so I just handed it to him and he know exactly what was going on. He then ran through what exactly he was going to do to attach the unit to the breaker box, which involved a little dry wall drilling, punching out a knockout on the top of the breaker box and then attaching the wires to a new breaker. I got my truck out of the way and David went to work. About a hour later or so he came in and said of all the 60 breakers in his truck he didn't quite have the right one for my box and would make a quick trip to Home Depot to get the right one after tackling the dimmer switch upstairs. David hadn't seen the solatube dimmer switch before so I explained basically what it was supposed to do. He just need to get an overview of what he needed to do. All went fine until the it came to the diagram of attaching the power to unit. There were 3 wires on the diagram - common, ground, and line in that order, however on the unit itself it was labeled ground, common, and line. I'm not a electric expert, but I figured that the unit markings would be the ones to go by. I appreciated the fact that David pointed that out to me and he agreed that the unit markings would be the right ones to follow. David finished the dimmer install and gave me the honor of flipping the switch and it worked just fine. Then he headed off to Home Depot to get the new breaker to finish the powersave install about an half on hour later. All total he spent 2.5 - 3 hours to do the work. As a parting, David mentionded that he loves problem solving.
Description of Work: Installed a dimmer switch for a skylight and installed a power save/surge protector
