Horrible quality. First impression was that Chris is a nice guy but when he came to give the estimate, an out of work friend with no painting experience asked if he was hiring and he said, "ya, I'll put you to work no problem". My buddy didn't take him up on it, but that should have raised a flag as you don't want to trust someone to work on your house that will hire anyone off the street with no experience. My gut feeling is that Chris probably is a reasonable painter, but I think the crew he hired to do my house had no experience painting anything. We even are missing a blu-ray player, one of the only things left in the house, that was there before the painting work was done, but missing now 3 weeks later with only real-estate agents with clients having passed through since the painting work. What went well? About the only positive thing is that Chris came over and spent 2 hours addressing the things my real-estate agent identified that was wrong. Yup, after 3 days of painting, he spent 2 hours touching up areas that were obvious. But when my brother finally had a chance to see the results (3 weeks later), he quickly found 8 more major issues but Chris refused to come back saying it was already signed off after he spent the 2 hours at the house. Here's a list of things that were wrong: 1. nearly all nail holes were still visible. no patching, not even enough paint applied to cover pin-holes. 2. many areas were just not painted. at least 2 areas where it looks like the roller didn't reach high enough as the 3 feet below the ceiling is still the original paint. Note, in fairness, the new paint and the old paint were very similar in color. However, anyone with experience would have had a method of painting to ensure overlapping rolling. This just looked completely careless. 3. paint drips on carpet and tile flooring (didn't appear to do sufficient masking or use drop cloths) 4. glossy paint used where flat was requested. Excuse given by Chris was "sometimes when the paint is all the same color, it's easy to apply the wrong one." While this may be the valid excuse, I would expect him to paint it correctly at his expense but he simply left it with his excuse. 5. Front door was spray painted as requested but no masking was used. As a result, overspray onto the brass hinges and onto the gold metal threshold was significant. However, the sides of the door were not painted and still shown dust and dirt after the job was done. 6. The kitchen was not painted - you can still see spaghetti sauce splatter and other marks. 7. Laundry room was not painted - marks are still evident and the one hanging decoration that was left there was not removed. 8. Window treatments were completely removed including mounting hardware but the area under the mounting hardware was still black or grey from the metal. 9. Both water damaged areas appeared to have only a partial rolling to cover it as the stain was still very obvious 10. Water damaged paint that had been flaking off near the window sill was simply painted over. As a result, the flaked paint probably stuck to the roller as there were many spots where the flaked paint was missing and exposed the unpainted drywall. 11. The minor cracks in the original walls were still there as they were neither patched, nor sufficient paint added to fill the crack. 12. I had purchased, cut, and painted a replacement baseboard but hadn't installed it because thought it would make it easier for Chris' team to paint the surrounding wall first. Chris agreed and said he would "tack a few nails in" but that was not done until we complained. 13. The door handles to the bathroom and 3 bedrooms were apparently removed for painting. However, when they were reinstalled, they not only mixed up which doors had the ones with locks (master bedroom and bathroom had locks, 2 spare bedrooms did not), they even installed the one for the bathroom backwards (lock was facing out) so the door couldn't even be closed. I would steer clear of Cutting Edge Painters. Either Chris is a good painter but is careless in who he hires to do the work or he himself is a careless painter. Either way, the result I got was the equivalent as if I went and hired a bunch of day-labor gardeners to paint my house. Low quality, careless work, and possibly even a thief among them.
Description of Work: Moved Mom out a couple months back and my out-of-state brothers and I have been cleaning house getting ready to sell. All walls needed painting, lots of scuff marks, picture hanging nail holes, and some water damage areas to paint over.

It went very well. Chris was prompt and completed the work as agreed. Very pleased with the results. Overall, a good job for the price.
