Curt's Home Repair

We have used Curt several times in the past, for many jobs. He is really, well, the best! He is always extremely pleasant and does exceptional work. I almost feel like he's family! You cannot go wrong with Curt; we highly recommend him.

He did a very nice job. He was professional and cleaned up after his work was done. He showed up on time in a big monster truck with all his tools and the materials he needed to get the job done.

Curt did excellent work and was reasonably priced. I would recommend him for any work that needs to be performed. We have scheduled him to return for additional electrical and tile repair and I'm sure will have back in the future.

He did a great job and will be contacting him again when its time to do my master bathroom.

My upstairs master bathroom shower leaked water downstairs through the family room ceiling. I had 3 service providers come out to review the problem and provide an estimate. Curt was very knowledgeable, provided a written estimate before he left and offerred a 10% senior discount. His estimate was a little lower than one of the other providers and alot lower than the third. I had to wait a month for the work to begin because Curt was booked in advance, but that wasn't a problem since I have other bathrooms in the house. Curt and another worker showed up on the day agreed upon. The work took 2 days, as he had previously told me. They kept me informed of their progress. They cleaned everything up before they left. The actual cost was the same as the estimate. The work was done professionally and I was very satisfied.

He does excellent work. He has been here several times, and done some major work for me. He had to take the door off, and put it back, and he put shelves, and did other minor repairs. He got a discount when he ordered the marble, and he passed that on to me. His price is reasonable.

I guess the first red flag was when asking for references I was not offered the phone number of previous customers but rather referred to the reviews on Angie's list. The second red flag was that I noticed most of these reviews are for small jobs such as installing window blinds or ceiling fans or stretching carpet. The third red flag was meeting with Curt and having doubts in his ability to handle a larger project as he seemed scattered with a lack of detail and focus. His price however seemed reasonable so against my better judgement we decided to contract to start the project in one months time. Curt was first contacted in November of 2013 for the home renovation project. He came to the home and returned an estimate of labor cost of $1030 plus the cost of materials. Work was scheduled for mid December. For personal reasons work was cancelled by myself 6 days prior to the starting work date and rescheduled for March 17th, 2014. One week prior to this date he contacts me and states he need to come by and review the project and "reestimate". Also reporting that he is "having trouble with the carpet guy" and does not want to start a project he can't finish. New estimate is now $2040 and cost of materials plus 20%. Really!! We have been waiting this long and you just now have to "reestimate" . The explanation in our last email is "It was Curt's fault for underbidding the original estimate". This is not suppose to be my problem. Isn't that the whole purpose of collecting bids prior to a project. If he felt the project was beyond him or he did not want to do the project he should have said so in the first place and not waste my time. Bottom line is that this company is unreliable and I would not recommend for small or larger projects.

Curt and his crew were on time, finished right on time and did a perfect job. This was an older unit with carpet and plastic flooring. They removed all flooring, tiled entire unit, sealed the grout and left the place mint clean. One minor aspect I liked was his fast email communications (his wife). We live in San Antonio and had to get all the details worked out prior to our arriving in Las Vegas.

We've since had problems with the shower pan that Curt's Home repair replaced. Also, the master bdrm ceiling is blotchy and spotty. I emailed them and did not hear back.

Responded within 2 days of my call to give me an estimate. Designed the deck to fit my requirements. Arrived on scheduled installation date, completed the job in 2 days as scheduled. Left the site cleaner than before they started. Very professional. I am already planning my next job for him! It is such a pleasure to have some one do such an excellent job.

Curt came on 1/4/2014 to give me an estimate for my tile work. Was on time and very professional. Scheduled the work for 1/14/2014.once again on time with his workers. Salvadore stretched a portion of my carpet and helped with tile install. I'm sorry i don't remember name of the main installer. They did a terrific job. I would definitely use them again. I highly recommend curt and his team.

Showed up promptly at the time he said w]he would be there. Had an assistant with him. They both went right to work. Did everything we needed and cleaned up after themselves. I will use him again if I have work and recommend him to others

Curt and crew showed up on time and got straight to work to replace a shower pan in my master bathroom. This included removing old stained tile and replacing it with new tile and grout. The whole project took about a day total. The results were great. What a difference!

Curt did a fantastic job. My floors look like new. Very professional and customer service oriented. We plan to use him again on other projects.

Curt was very nice to work with. At first we wanted a complete bathroom remodel and changed our request to a smaller job. He was more than willing to still do the smaller job and readjusted the estimate. He arrived on time, was very professional, cleaned up daily. The job took exactly the number of days he had told us it would. I felt cleanup on the last day could have been a little better. Next time I would ask for an itemized bill, as I felt we did not save all that much by reducing the amount of work he had to do.

Curt is awesome!!! He is very professional and very personable, as well. He does an excellent job and knows about everything. We enjoyed having him in our home - he treated the job as though he were working on his own home. Very thorough - he completely cleaned up when the job was done.

Curt was a few minutes late, but at least he was professional enough to call me - Curt is around the 7th vendor I've contacted off of Angie's list, in general, and he was the only one that notified me that he would be running late. I spent a few minutes with Curt to discuss my issues, he assessed them and provided me with a very reasonable price. Curt came back and provided the service and did a great job. Would definitely recommend and will plan to use him again.

My inquiry was 2 fold-we wanted to remedel a master bath plus needed immediate attention to plumbing problems. I called on 8/12 AM didn't get a call back. I called back on 8/12 pm and spoke to his wife. She said he would come on 8/14. I was impressed with reviews on AL so I wanted to wait for Curt. When he arrived at my house on 8/14 he seems to be in a hurry. left his truck running and probably was in the house less than 10 minutes.That in it's self did not impress me.He took a couple of measurements and said he would email that evening with plumbers names(we had backups going on that needed attention) and would email an estitmate within 1-2 days. Never heard a word until receiveing a bid on 8/20. We already decided not to use Curt for his lack of interest and timely communication. But the bid was crazy LABOR only. He wanted us(senior citizens) to go out and purchase everything drywall,fixtures,tile etc.....that's just not a feasible thing to do.We proceeded with work being done by another AL find. This other company is taking care of all our needs and then some. I would not recommend Curt's to anyone especially seniors.

I had used Curt about a year ago for a small emergency at another house. I was pleased with him then. This time, he came out about 2 weeks ago and gave us an estimate on the things we needed done. Today he called and said he was giving another estimate elsewhere and would be about 15 minutes or so late. He arrived soon after and went to work. I took our dogs into the bedroom and took a nap while he worked. He was here about 4 hours, not to mention the time he had spent at Home Depot getting the things he needed for the job. He explained everything to us both before and after the work was done, and came in within $20 of his estimate. I can't find any fault with his work, appearance or attitude. When and if my wife and I need anymore work done, he will be the first handyman that we will contact. His business and cell phone numbers are now a permanent part of my cell phone contact list. By the way, I am 75 years old and have the experience to be able to identify and appreciate good, reliable work and service. He charged $54 for parts and $306 for labor. Thanks Curt.

He originally only came over to repair the ceiling, but I asked him to repair the wall as well. He didn't have time to finish the wall, but called within a couple days to fit me in to his busy schedule. He got th work dome quickly, expertly and for a great price.

Curt showed up on June 28th to assess my patio cover repairs. Was here for less than 10 minutes. Said he get back with me "in a day or so" with an estimate and also a referral to a roofer to assess the roof of my patio cover to determine why the dry rot occurred in the first place. Well, never heard a word back. Tried emailing his company too. Still didn't hear 1 word. If they weren't interested in my project, it would have been nice to know. Now I have to go thru the process of getting more estimates, etc. This company totally left me hanging.

Great service. Easy to work with! Curt scheduled the repair with the tenant, and called the me while on site to get approval for the costs. Great service! Receipts for the repairs were emailed to me the same day. I will definitely call them again!

Curt showed up on time, was courteous and professional and VERY clean. All repairs were done above and beyond expectations. Curt works in a precise and timely manner finishing much faster than expected and always within his price estimate.

Curt arrived on schedule with a helper. They got ready to paint the garage. While his helper started on the garage, Curt & I looked over the gutter instalation. He would need to remove 2 security camers & route the downspout so as not to restrict the view from a third camera. Curt went to get the items he would need. After returning he laid out the parts & started to assemble them. His helper had finished the first coat of paint & came to help Curt with the gutter.When the gutter was preliminarily mounted, his helper returned to put on the 2nd coat of paint. Curt finished the gutter instal & then installed the flag pole brackets & pole. His helper had finished the painting & came to see if Crut needed his help.Curt was done, so his helper started putting away the painting tools & Curt wrote up the bill. They did a great job! Brfore I ended up in a wheelchair I could have done the work myself, but I could not have done better!! I will call on Curt again!!
