The appointment started out horribly. The appointment was in the morning (I work nights), he called an hour early to confirm the appointment and then showed up 45 minutes late. My wife had made the appointment and was choosing the styles and materials. I was just there to let him in and measure everything. He kept wanting to tell me details and I was trying to send emails. I told him that I was not involved in the choices and to please call my wife. He got huffy about it and showed an attitude. I asked what the approximate cost would be and he said he couldn't give me an idea. I asked for a ballpark and he said that wasn't possible. I asked him to be creative and to give me an idea of what the cheapest and most expensive could possibly be. He wouldn't give me any idea at all. When we went to analyze the quote several weeks later, it seemed extraordinarily high. I called and asked why and he said he I had told him to get the most expensive ones. I told him very clearly that he was to speak to my wife. He was again rude and aggressive on this call as well. I told him never mind, we would find a different contractor. He started yelling on the phone as I was hanging up. #UNPROFESSIONAL

First of all, the fact that I called an hour early is true. Since the appt. was scheduled several weeks prior, that is our policy. I did not show up 45 minutes late; I was on time. I did try to give him details on product selection as this is the only way we can give accurate pricing. Since our company offers literally thousands of choices of styles and colors of window coverings I could not give him even a ballpark price, since he would not make a selection. He asked me to make my own selection and email him a quote. I selected the most likely product, that I thought would work best for blackout and insulation, and forwarded him the quote immediately via email. When he called and questioned the quote, I told him that I had priced the most energy efficient blackout shade made by Hunter Douglas. He then said that he wanted the cheapest thing on the market. I then told him that we do not offer the cheapest thing on the market. He told me that his wife had specified the product to me, which was an incorrect statement, and I told him so. I guess that's what he calls being rude and aggressive. I did not hang up on him as he was speaking; he hung up on me, as I was speaking. Our company has been in business here for 19 years and have an impeccable rating with the Better Business Bureau.

While the cost and quality of the merchandise from this company is average, the responsiveness and communication are not good.
Description of Work: I ordered motorized drapes for the family room, and shades for the bedroom. We were told that they should be ready in 3 to 4 weeks, but after 8 weeks we had not heard from them. I called them and was told that they had difficulty getting the drape material which caused the delay. They finally installed the drapes and shades at the end of August, 10 weeks after the order. The drape valence and one of the shades did not fit, and had to be returned to the shop for modifications. Another week went by before the final installation. The motorized drapes were remotely controlled, but no instructions or documentation was provided on the motor or controller. |
