CONCEPTOS CONCERETE

My wife and I were concerned as to what to do and use around the pool and backyard areas. We talked with Caesar and he was very helpful in giving us ideas. He even went out of his way to meet us at a paving store to look at different types and styles. We had a few issues but he always corrected them. He told us when his employees would be here. When they could not be here he called us and told us what was happening. One day he even made a special trip over to tell me in person that a problem had come up and that his crew could not make it that day. There are always problems during a construction project but it is the smart owner who keeps his customer advised as to what is happening. We would certainly recommend Ceasar to anyone.

We met with the owner and discussed the additional work we wanted done in addition to the work included with the pool.When work started there was a misunderstanding on the with of the walkway around the pool. The workers stopped work until this could be clarified. We also needed a tree removed before the desired width could be poured. I was happy with this as opposed to the workers proceeding and not doing what we really wanted. We finalized the design of the new concrete and reshifted some lines to create a better visual look and improve the walkway between the house and casita. The owner had good insight and ideas. Our biggest concern was drainage as we had problems with that whenever it rained. We were assured that the slant and drainage bars would suffice. Once the concrete was poured, however, it was apparent that the workers had not followed the layout for slanting the concrete so water would flow away from the house. It did the opposite. The owner came back out and had that portion of the concrete removed and redesigned the area with extra drainage bars. This was a large area, over a 100 square feet. When the concrete was repoured, but still wet, we noticed the extra drainage bars had not been installed. I made a call and the owner spoke directly to the foreman and the concrete was reworked. About a month later we had a really big downpour. The drainage worked Great! While it is always nice to have problem-free work (is that possible???), it is more important how a company handles problems that arrise. I believe Conceptos Concrete handled every problem in a responsive, professional manner. I am happy to recommend them.

In addition to the decking around our new pool, we wanted to extend our existing paio to the pool area and add a walkway and step to the casita. We have always had a drainage problem with the middle area of our yard, between the house and the casita. One of our concerns was addressing and solving this issue with the installation of the patio. When the workmen came to build the forms, I realized the walkway was going to be much narrower that I intended. The foreman stopped the work until his boss could meet with us. We met the next day and discussed all of the walkways, the patio and the path to the casita. I believe his name was Ernesto, but I may have it wrong. He listened to what I wanted, he made suggestions, and together we designed two areas for flower beds. I think they came out great! After the forms were laid, an inspection was made to ensure that the drainage was correct. However, when the concrete was poured, it was obvious that the area next to the existing patio would flow water right to our back door. Ernesto had that section removed and repoured the concrete, about 100 square feet. The finished work looks good and, after three hard rainfalls, the drainage works perfectly.
