This company was doing a lousy job. They would not show up on time and my pond was developing algae that eventually caused my pump to stop working. I called them several times to come out and fix it, but they never called me back. Eventually, I called and left them a message to stop the service. They never came back, but I still was receiving monthly bills and they threatened to turn me over to a collection agency. I called the BBB and they resolved that situation for me.

Unfortunately, this is the kind of company that makes a service like Angie's List necessary. My original company did a client swap with WC and initially the service was reasonable, though they didn't keep the pool as clean as the original company. They did some repair work to my pump, which was fine. I needed a new filter, but they ignored my request to let me know the day/time of installation so that I could arrange to be there. They left the old filter, parts, & box behind despite my asking that removal be part of the deal. In the spring, I started to have algae problems and there was no evidence of the service on a couple of occasions. In mid-June, the services were missed and I got a complete run around from West Coast; voice mail, no one available, no returned calls, and still no service. By the time I arranged a new service my pool was in terrible shape and I lost a month's use of my pool. WC was completely unprofessional and there was no recourse from the BBB for prepayment.

West Coast kept changing their workers, and many of them were teenagers who didn't spend enough time cleaning and who arrived at different times. Some wouldn't empty the baskets or do the basic work properly.

I have been using West Coast Pools for about 15 years. They are such a great company and they have been in business for a very long time. They do great work. My pool always looks really good and the water is always crystal clear. There are never too many chemicals in the pool. I can say that the whole 15 years I have been hiring West Coast, they have never been late for an appointment. The pricing varies on the size of your pool. I think I pay a pretty fair price for my pool.

Their technician comes at the same time almost every week, which makes it easier to be there when he cleans the pool. He has excellent manners, and does an excellent job. The pool is always free of debris, and the chemicals are maintained at an accurate level. He has also done repairs on the filter, and we only had to pay for the parts.
