Central Self Storage - Las Vegas

Rented a 26 ft Uhaul GMC truck in California for one-way trip to Las Vegas. Uhaul employee in Milpitas, CA said the 17 ft bed, which is what we needed was not available, nor was the 20 ft truck which shows up on the Uhaul website. The only truck they had that was in good enough shape, so he said, to be driven to Las Vegas, was a 26 ft. truck! This was approximately twice the volume we needed - but the employee assured us this truck was in good shape & would be our best bet for moving our daughter's belongings back to her home in Las Vegas. The truck was very hard to drive when we picked it up - but we figured it would be better with weight in the back. Bad judgment on our part. This truck was UNSAFE for driving on anything but perfectly flat asphalt paved roads. Anytime a tire hit a bump - the truck shook so hard it was difficult to hold onto the steering wheel. It also careened all over the road on irregular patches on the highways.....the ride was so poor that the 2 drivers both had sore shoulder joints as well as major headaches from the bouncing & jerking. Because the ride was so uncomfortable, we stopped in Bakersfield overnight - so made drive in 2 - 250 mi days & it was still extremely stressful. We would never rent from Uhaul again & recommend Angie's list customers test drive any rental vehicles they get from Uhaul - especially drive on a rough road at higher speeds to determine if the vehicle is safe for travel.
