Kathie was the representative who stopped by from Bugsy's. We wanted aluminum mini blinds and athe first thing she told me is that aluminum blinds, much less mini blinds, are no longer produced or used. The industry uses faux wood blinds and they only come in a 2 inch size, minimum. She did measurements and provided me a quote. She told me that typically, Bugsy's does not commit to anything less than 5 windows minimum so she was doing me a favor. She wanted a commitment from me and I told her I had one more estimate scheduled. With that she unprofessionally scooped up her paperwork and couldn't get out of my house fast enough. Her parting comment was that if I elected Bugsy's, it would require a signed contact and that I would have to come to their business address on Dean Martin Drive to sign the contract. I was very disappointed by her curt attitude. I contracted wtih East-West Blinds and Shutters instead. I was shown more courtesy over the telephone by them than by Kathie in person.
Description of Work: I did not elect to hire Bugsy's for reasons stated below.

I had a very good experience with them. I spent slightly over a $ 1000, let us say $ 1100 something like that. They were very prompt in coming to my house, to bring samples and helped me make a decision on which blinds I wanted. They gave me an estimated date for when the blinds will be ready and they were ready at the time they said. They gave me a four hours window when they would be here and they came very early in this four-hour window to install the blinds. I was very satisfied with their service. I compared their prices before I called them and they were very competitive.
Description of Work: I had used 'Bugsy's Blinds & Custom Shutters' I think they are on Angie's list, they do vertical blinds and put all sorts of window coverings. I had all the vertical blinds of my house replaced.

This was a rush job because the buyer for the condo I was selling decided just a few days before escrow was to close that the blinds in one of the bedrooms had to be replaced. Bugsy's was running a special that allowed an upgrade to nicer blinds for almost the same price as the inexpensive ones, and they were able to get the blinds installed on time.

Raphael was the sales representative/general manager assigned to me. He showed up did the measurements, he proceeded to gouge me on the price. Great sales person, and he talks a very good game. I had 7 windows done. Well, what I learned is that I should have priced compared BEFORE making the decision to use their service. The workmanship and the products received were good. But, price-wise they are definitely not the lowest in the valley, once I learned from two other companies, who also deal in name-brand window treatments, that I I could have received the same products for half the price. I would not use them again due to price gouging. Update: Thank you for your response. However, your response makes the assumption that as a consumer I was not wise enough to know that I needed to compare the prices of top name brand window products with the upgrade options. Grant it; it was in hindsight that the comparison was done, but it was done with one of your competitors who also offer the same top name brand window products with the upgraded options. I would like to think that no business would have a POLICY to gouge customers, especially if their slogan is to GUARANTEE that their products are the lowest. However, not having a POLICY does not prevent a business from hiring slick salesmen who seem to live by the motto, ?A sucker is born every minute?. But, with the primer of sites like Angie?s List, the livelihood of such salesmen and the businesses that employ them are limited. While such a salesman might seem good for the business in the short-term, the word will eventually get out, and in the long-term, hurt the profitability of the business. This is the free market. Businesses that will thrive are those that protect the interest of their customers, for those are the businesses that will earn the reputation of being fair and honest, and stand by their guarantee. You did finance your order with us and chose a top name brand window product with many upgrade options such as cordless, more expensive fabric on the cells, and a fully louvered arch which is also an upgrade from a standard shutter. Bugsy's Blinds carries a window covering for any budget desired with over 30 brands to accommodate any customer. I shopped around for a company with a high customer satisfaction rating and reasonable prices in our area on Angie's List. Bugsy's Blinds fit my criteria. Scot came to our home the next day to do the custom measuring and once again to work with us on fine tuning a couple of problematic windows. He was extremely courteous, professional and patient while we worked out color, size, type of frame, etc. A team of two came and installed all 25 windows in one afternoon and cleaned up thoroughly after. We're very pleased with the results. A minor drawback was that it took a couple of weeks longer than the original estimate to get the finished windows. Everyone I dealt with from Scot to the Installation Dept and Installers were very courteous and professional.
Description of Work: We had Plantation Shutters custom made and installed on 25 windows in our home.

Prompt and professional from the initial measurements to the installation a few days later. The blinds are great and all personnel we dealt with were courteous and conscientious. We will use them again and highly recommend Bugsy's to everyone.

We were pleased and impressed with their sales representative. She was very thorough about the length of time this order could be installed to the care and maintence that each type of blind would take. She took care that we chose the type and material suited to us and that we would love. The installation was about 2 weeks after order was placed.The installers were quick, neat and professional. The installer made sure we knew how to operate the blinds once they were installed. (we were new to verticals). We are pleased with Bugsy's Blinds and we would recommend their service.
Description of Work: We purchased vertical blinds for our patio slider. Even though it was not a large purchase their sales rep took plenty of time and showed us several samples to enable us to make a good choice for our door. The time from placing the order to installation was about two weeks.

Kathy was very helpful, professional and knowledgable, the initial contact and decision was pleasant and easy. The response time on all steps of the process was very fast. Brandon and the other gentleman were pleasant and courteous and did a good job of taking the final measurements. They were very careful to make sure my cats did not get out, and were respectful of my home. On Feb 8th Eric came and installed the blinds, this is the only part I would critize at all. Eric was obviously in a hurry, did not put a blanket of any sort under the boxes of blinds that were on my brand-new laminate floor (no damage was done, but a protective sheet would have been nice). He was punctual and the blinds looked nice after he had installed them, however I only looked at them in the open position. That evening when I closed the blinds I noticed that there were a couple of unacceptable gaps between the end of the blind and the window on two windows, also I wasn't happy with the wand position on two windows (not Eric's fault, my personal taste). I called Bugsy's and Dave, the installation supervisor called me back the same day. We set up an appointment and he came out with Josh, an installer who is obviously every experienced. They both immediately saw what my issue was and in a flash had it fixed - the blinds are now even in the window and the gaps on the edges are totally acceptable and look good. Josh switched the wands to the other side for me, suggested an adjustment in the sliding glass door blind which reduced the gap on the wand end, he and Dave had that fixed in a jiffy. I am extremely happy with my experience with Bugsy's Blinds and would recommend them to anyone. "Stuff" happens - what makes the difference is how well it is rectified - Bugsy's Blinds, Dave and Josh obviously understand this - my issues were resolved completely and promptly - it was clear that making the customer happy was their primary concern. I was never made to feel as though I was being a nuisance or that my issues were not relevant. Thank you Bugsy's Blinds :)
Description of Work: I called for an estimate for blinds for 9 windows plus a sliding glass door. Kathy came out on Jan 26th, we discussed, Kathy measured, we decided on the blinds I wanted and she wrote and I signed the contract right then. On Jan 31st Brandon and another gentleman (can't remember his name, sorry) came and did the final measurement. The blinds were made and installed by Eric on Feb 8th.

It took a full 3 weeks for our shutters to be installed by the installer "who I feel is the main reason why Bugsys is in business and will earn my recommendation" Saul the installer took great care and meticulous prescion to install our shutters including making some structural modifications to make them look great! Looking at our shutters in most of our home makes me feel good about the quality and the overall appearance of our home I would recommend Bugsys but because of the lack of follow up from Rapheal and the incomplete over look of our home based on him needing to make a bigger commission I can only give them a B rating I waited 4 days before making this review and still no follow up from the staff.
Description of Work: We shopped around before deciding on using Bugsy.The staff in the showroom are top notch and very helpful in answering questions. Our first trip to Bugsy we went on a Saturday and met Raphael The Sales Manager.He made a time to come out to our new home and during that initial meeting he said "We will come out and put up temporary blinds" He gave us a quote and then instructed us to come into the showroom to pick out our sliders for the glass sliding door. We went back to the showroom and met with some of the sales staff who again were very helpful. We picked out what we wanted and set a time for Raphael to come back out to our house to match the color of our shutter in the kitchen to the color of our cabinet's which by the way were a perfect match! Now comes the not so great part of this deal He quoted us a price which we assumed included the slider for our glass sliding door and the no bar type of wood shutter.since that is what he showed us.When he came out to match the color of the cabinet The price dramatically changed in which I was told the first price didn't include the slider or the no bar type of shutter.I told Raphael what our budget was and he gave us a discount since we were paying cash however our back room would not get a shutter and we would get no type of covering for our glass sliding door and we would have to stay with the bar type shutter except the one in the kitchen Oh and by the way you have to come back to our showroom and pick up your temp shutters. I really would have expected better from the sales manager

Fast response and solution.
Description of Work: Company came out to our home and brought a replacement blind for the front window. The original blind had a problem with the tilting mechanism and after fixing it once it broke again and Bugsy's replaced the whole blind. The replacement was installed within 2 weeks after contact. Description of Work: My experience began when I first saw the commercial, the prices seemed to low to be true, but when I saw them in Angie's list I decided to get one more estimate. Usually I'm content with 3 estimates but since all my estimates did not have everything I wanted under roof I decided to go see what Bugsy's was really about. I decided to drive to the showroom on Dean Martin Dr. As I walked in I was overwhelmed with the amount of selection. I could. Not believe my eyes, I was quickly greeted and told they carried over 50 top brand window covering, then the sales person encouraged me to take my time looking and he would write down all the styles I liked, well after about 25 minutes I had found coverings for all my windows, the sales person then told me she would follow me home to help me select the colors that would best work for my taste and style. When I asked how much would the estimate cost me she said it was free and was able to come out immediately When we arrived at the house she had pictures of each of the styles I had chosen in the showroom and had actual samples of each product material we went from room to room and picked out everything they way I wanted. When she game me the price I was in disbelieve, I asked her if that was the price for the entire house and she responded "yes and that includes tax and free installation" the total was about $1,700 less for an american made product, that I was able to get taking the lowest price product from each of the other companies, so I decided to make the purchase and took advantage of the 36 month no interest plan Two and half weeks later I received a call letting me know my product was ready to install and they sent out two gentlemen, they wore booties the entire time they were in my house and knew exactly where to put each item they finished in under and hour then took the time to show me how to work each of the coverings I was so happy I tipped them. This company is defiantly AAA+ in my book

We told owner of company that we didn't like their TV commercial. He was in process of changing that. Good natured kidding.

If you like excuses instead of getting your job done the Bugsy's is the company for you. The salesman (also the General Manager) promised to complete the job in 1 week, they didn't, it took 2 weeks. They promised a comnplete job including removal of the existing blinds, they didn't, they piled the old blinds on the front lawn instead of placing them in community trash bin located only a few feet away. Lastly they promised to leave the home the way they found it, freashly vacuumed, they didn't, instead they left an army of footprints all over my brand new carpet. When confronted they took 2 day to respond and declined responsibility. Beware of Bugsy's Blinds especially when they request there final payment before the job is 100% complete. There are many reputable companies out there, in my opinion Bugsy's is NOT one of them.in 3 rental properties

This member is embarking on half truths and events that simply did not happen. As much as we try to serve our customers, this member has failed to acknowledge he chose to not be present during an installation. He also failed to acknowledge the blinds were ready in one week (ready 11/7 with voicemail left on his phone) and chose his installation for 11/13. In situations like this, we have our team take photos before and after a job to prove we were there and there was no damage, which we have. Our contract states on line #13 on the back of our contract "Customer responsible for disposing of all unwanted window treatments." This member has also left out the part of cursing out 3 members of our staff, because he was unhappy we did not throw away his blinds. So if the blinds were thrown away, then next accusation would have been where are my old blinds? We did try to make him happy, but it's impossible if customer choses not to be present during delivery and we can't assume or mind read a customer's thoughts. Can't please everyone.

Great quality window shades for a reasonable price. I used another competitor for one room but was not happy with the quality of the product nor the installation process. Conrad's team made it painless. The installation happened much more quickly than anticipated and the quality far exceeds what I previously got. I already feel the difference in my office! It is so much cooler in here and I know that these shades are going to pay for themselves eventually by lowering my electricity bill. Thanks Bugsy's Blinds!

We love them. They're not cheap though. We used shutters in the front, and mini-blinds on an ultra high window. We have these rather large blinds on the dual French doors. On the dual French doors, they slam every time you open and close them. They already know about this, so they anchored them for us. It's really nice. We like them so much that we're saving up to put shutters up on the whole side of the house. The installation was awesome and totally professional.

I met with Cynthia from Bugsy's Blinds on 3/14/12. I knew that I wanted wood blinds and a shutter-type blind on a sliding door. I had already received another quote from Sunburst Shutters. I decided to used Bugsy's because their prices were comparable, but they had more variety of product than Sunburst. Cynthia was knowledgeable, but not pushy on the sale. The installation was completed on 4/12/12, approximately 4 weeks after the quote, and exactly in the time frame I was told. The installers were professional and wore booties inside the property. The installation took about one hour.
Description of Work: Bugsy's Blinds installed four, faux-wood blinds and one poly shutter sliding panel door at a rental property that I own.

The salesman that came to our house did a god job, although he was not entirely honest with us. Ha said the shutters were manufactured in Las Vegas behind their office. We found out later that was not true. The shutters are very well done and attractive. The installation was done well with the exception of the shutters on the patio door. The shutters for that door were made wrong and the installer made it work but it does not look quite correct. We have had enough problems dealing with this company that we hesitate to have them do anymore work on the shutters. Dealing with the staff in the office was unbelievably frustrating. We feel we got the runaround more than once. We feel that it should never have taken seven weeks to get our shutters installed.

Member, I deeply apologize for the mishaps on your order. There was no absolutely no reason for taking 7 weeks to complete your order and I am sorry it took so long. I would like to address your concerns. This order should have only taken approximately 4 weeks and it was manufactured by Graber, one of the largest window covering manufacturers in America. The sales representative must have gotten confused on where the product came from, but sold you a top name brand product at an incredible price. We do manufacture shutters at our facility, but we only do custom exotic stains, specialty shapes, and arched windows. Graber also had to re-make two of the windows, because of mishaps in shipping and tried to get back to us as soon as possible. I can't make excuses for my staff making you feel like you got the runaround, but after doing research the problem arose from the manufacturer giving us wrong tracking numbers. I called Bugsy's to get an estimate. Cynthia arrived on time and immediately started making suggestions. I was turning this house into a rental and wanted something not only attractive, but practical. Cynthia was outstanding. She went out of her way to come up with great suggestions and went out of her way to save me money. Although I had planned on only getting an estimate, I decided to go with Bugsy's based on Cynthia's expertise.She never tried to oversell me. Cynthia went out of her way to help me. Cynthia explained that the blinds would be done in approximately 2 weeks and I would get a call from Scheduling.I told her that I was having major work done on the house and that I may not be ready for the blinds at that time. The blinds were finished on time, but the house had not been painted. When scheduling call we set a tentative date. I agreed to firm up that date. This is where I had problems. The painter's finished early and I wanted to either get an earlier install date or firm up the date of 3/12/12. I called Bugy's several times and each time I was told that Scheduling was unavailable (out to lunch, busy, don't know where they're at, etc.) I was extremely anxious to get these blinds installed because I had carpet coming later that week. No one every called me back. After 3 days when I finally got someone on the phone, they apologized profusely and set up the install date and time. I asked what time they would be there as I had to make a special trip to open the house. I was told between 8:30 to 9:30 am. I gave them my cell number. At 9:30 am no one had arrived. At 10:00 the Installer had arrived. They told me that it is usally a 3 hour window, but never a 1 hour window. The installer had also left a message that he was on his way on my home number. The installer did an excellent job of installing the blinds. Unfortunately 2 sets of blinds came defective and have to be replaced. The installer went out of his way to point this out and to order replacements. One of the windows that we did not replace was the sliding glass door verticals. I did not realize how brittle they were and managed to break them. I called Bugys late on Sunday in a panic. They were closed. I took a chance and called Cynthia. Cynthia knew my situation and volunteered to come on her day off to take the measurements and write the order. I have never had someone come on their day off nor would I expect it. Cynthia did it.Also I cannot say what a beautiful job the installer did. During the installation process, one of the neighbors dropped by and saw the blinds. She asked the installer for a card. The neighbor loved the blinds, but thought the installation process was flawless. The neighbor was not simply flattering me. When Cynthia finished with my house, my neighbor also gave her an order. I think that says it all. I have been waiting for the replacement blinds. Bugsy called and set up an apoointment to install blinds between 12-2 on 3/27/12. I told them that I needed to be called on my cell phone because this is a rental property wihtout a landline. I left my house at 9:00 a.m. to take my husband to his Dr. appointments. I did not receive a call on my cell phone. I waited 2 hours and finally called Bugys. They asked if I had received the message. When I got home I found the problem. The installer had left a message on my landline. In fact he had left 2 messages at 10:00 a.m. and 10:09 am. I know that it is common for intallers to call to see if they can deliver early, but this was 2 hours early. My appointment was from 12-2 not 10am. So I wasted 2 hours. Bugsys rescheduled my appointment for Wednesday 3/28/12 between 8am and 10am.I tried to get a later time because I had an 8:30 Dr.'s appointment. They said no, so I cancelled the Dr.'s appointment to get the blinds installed. I did not want to be in the situation before where I could not get a call back from scheduling so I am really trying to get these blinds installed. I waited from 7:30 until 9:30 am. when I called. Silly me for waiting. The scheduller had looked at Thursdays schedule instead of Wednesday's schedule. The time was now 2-4 more towards 4pm. so I had to change another dr's appointment. my husband is severely handicapped from a major stroke. Dr,. aapointments are extremely vital for my husband and here we are cancelling the appointment again. so here's hoping they show up again. The blinds were intalled and are beautiful. In summary, I think that sales, design and installation are outstanding and desire an A+. Everyone who has seen the window treatments has complemented on the great quality and outstanding price. Now I can also give an A+ to Customer Service. It really impresses me when a company cares enough to call and apologize. Because of this, I am giving Bugsy's an A and will do business with them again.

They put up a rather large blind in my new office. They guy was very courteous, very meticulous, and very knowledgeable. I was very happy with him. I plan on using him again soon.

From A to Z -- they were great! Not one problem and everything was on schedule and went smoothly.
Description of Work: After a horrible experience with a different contractor, we went to Bugsy's Blinds for solar screens on our windows. What a difference! Bugsy's is professional. They have a an office and showroom which told me that they invest in themselves to show the public that they are here to stay. Their work was good and they stand behind what they sell. I will be going babk to them for other work. I highly recommend them.

Rian came out twice even informed me when a sale was beneficial to my plan. They guys that installed the shutters were very informative, courteous and they installed on my schedule even on a Saturday. I am pleased to let you know there were no hitches at all along the way
Description of Work: Rian was the rep that came out and was very helpful in selecting colors and styles. we replaced old vertical and mini blinds with shutters and cellular shades. The price was actually less than I thought, the gurantee on the purchase is excellent. Installation once the order arrived was quick, uneventful and the look is exactly what I wanted. I will definitely order the window coverings for upstairs when ready. Everyone was very helpful, courteous. The measurements were perfect and I couldn't be more happy with the experience. The commercials on TV are cute but the service and quality of the work was wonderful especially in this day and age.

I spent under $400 on the job. The service was just the usual one; I did not think it was over and above the normal. They were very nice and helpful about picking the pattern. They gave me suggestions and told me how it would look. They came out on time. I will use them in the future.
