BRL's Windows & Doors

BRL's is a great company. We needed to replace about half the windows in our house, and got bids from multiple contractors. (One was so high-pressure and scripted that we had to ask him to leave; another was fine, but his bid was laugh-out-loud high.) BRL was no-nonsense: their representative came to our home as scheduled, measured our windows, made some product recommendations, and sent us a detailed bid very quickly. Not only was it extremely reasonable, I really felt all through the process like I was getting personal attention from a family company. The installation went very smoothly, even though the installers had to custom trim all the windows on site, when it turned out that none of our frames were square. There was no damage to our exterior stucco, and our inside shutters weren't a problem. They were meticulous in the install, and the finishing work is outstanding. Throughout the installation they kept everything clean and tidy, and the end result is better than we could have anticipated. The quality of the Simonton windows is great--our kitchen is virtually silent when they're shut. In case you can't tell, I couldn't be happier with BRL's Windows & Doors: from the initial visit to the installation, they were professional, thoughtful, and highly efficient. We will definitely go back to them when we replace the rest of our windows!

The owners are husband and wife with an entire crew. Their response and professionalism was fantastic. They were very thorough and walked me through the entire potential costs and were very cautious of my budget and helpful understanding my position that this was for a rental property. They offered great advice and help. I would highly recommend them and will be using them when I do new windos at my primary residence

Everything went very well, from the time we receive the estimate till the time the job was complete. The workers were both very professional and kept everything neat and clean as they went along.

Due to a home invasion attempt which left a side garage door jam shattered. We were in a hurry to have the door and frame replaced which is what we thought we would need to have done (1000 job is what we expected to pay). We contacted BRL windows &doors and 2 other Angie list contractors through the online message system. 1. BRL contacted me back under 10 minutes. The other 2 contractors not a peep 36hrs later. 2. They were upfront couldn't take an appt. that day but had 1 available next day for estimate. I told them I reached out to 2 other contractors, they said no problem they would still contact me next day to see if I had work completed. 3. Next day they contacted me at 0900ish asked if I had any work completed (nope. No one else called even with multiple messages left throughout the day). Made an appt for same day est. 1200-1300hrs. 4. 1158hrs Wayne (the Estimator technician shows up) Tells me nope don't need to replace the door and frame, he can repair it as long as I kept all the broken wood parts (as I grab them from garbage can, the day before garbage day) Yeah and it will cost you $250.00. 5> Like any agreement make sure you stipulate upfront what u want and your clear about it. Which I was, repair of door with striker. I wanted all moulding replaced sealed and holes covered. I agreed to the 250.00. Wayne agreed to have work done later in the same day in a 110* garage. He arrived a little before 1500 had to clear the area of the items we used to block the door for the night. Did an excellent job on repair, new heavy duty striker replacement, removing and replacing all moulding around door. Great job altogether. Paid an additional $23.00 for the moulding.

We did not go with them, but his (Bob) honesty, advice, and professional demeanor allows this company to stand out. We will not hesitate to call this company again if the opportunity presents itself.

My entry doors were so warped that light , air (and bugs) had easy access. It was time for new doors. Two men showed up very soon after my initial call to measure the entry doors and molding, and then gave me a range of doors to choose from. There was zero pressure to sell me anything that was more expensive than my budget allowed. Yesterday, two installers arrived. They took off my old doors and molding and carted it away when they left. The installation went smoothly--and the men even indulged my dog when she tried to "help." They also put on my new hardware, and they cleaned up after themselves and put my entry table back in place. The new doors look great, and there are no longer any gaps for air or light to come through. My one and only complaint is that the new doors took quite a while to arrive. But that's the fault of the vendor, not BRL, who even called me on a Saturday to give me an update on my doors coming in. All in all, a great experience.

Pre installation activities consisted of an initial sales call where the sales representative described BRL's qualifications and experience, the quality and manufacture details of Simonton Windows, and the numerous window and patio door options available. Our windows and patio door were then measured, options for product selection were discussed, and an initial estimate was prepared and emailed to us. We were so impressed with the Sales representative's knowledge and professionalism, the fact that BRL is certified to work on manufactured homes, and the use of Simonton Windows, that we did not pursue competitive quotes. That is why I did not rate the price category above. A second visit by BRL was made after we approved their quote so their installation team could confirm initial measurements and discuss installation options. In less than two weeks we were told that our windows had been received ahead of schedule and installation could be scheduled a few days earlier than expected. The two man team arrived right on time and to our amazement replaced 9 windows and our patio door in less than 8 hours. The amazing part was their professionalism, work ethic, quality of their work, and how well they cleaned up before they left. They were obviously very experienced in window installations. The windows and patio door are beautifully finished both inside and out,, we no longer feel cold air being conducted or leaking through the previously exposed aluminum frames, and there will no longer be particulates blowing past the ineffective old seals. We strongly recommend BRL, especially if you are living in a manufactured home. Upgrading windows will provide significant aesthetic and thermal improvements and in the long run pay for itself in energy savings.

The meeting itself went very well and I have no complaints with the delivery presented to me. I decided to go with another quote I was provided by another company.

Everyone we dealt with at BRL?s during the proposal stage through installation was professional and very helpful. The installers, Shane and Josh, were courteous and did a great job. Our home presented a few problems during the installation but these were handled effectively by Shane and Josh. We are very happy with our new doors and the potential for energy savings due to this change. An added bonus is that the doors are really beautiful and have made our house quieter by reducing noise from the outdoors. We were satisfied with our service from beginning to end. Since we have replaced our windows one at a time as funds have allowed, our salesman, Bob, is always accommodating with regard to meeting us for our estimates and offers advice on safety and energy efficiency. He has been out on weekends, and I think even a Sunday! The price is always manageable, depending on the size of the window, and the order time is always well within the time quoted. Trevor, our install guy, is extremely prompt and neat when working. I have recommended this company to friends who have also been happy with their service. I have an appointment with Bob this Saturday to replace another window and plan on consulting regarding a front door replacement as well. I can't say enough good things about this company!

Wayne and his team provided outstanding service! The install team was in and out in two days and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. The windows are a HUGE improvement over the originals. We've had a minor recurring problem with the patio door lock getting out of alignment, but they always respond within 24 hours to fix it. The owner said if it does it again, he is just going to replace the door at no charge. Outstanding service!

It looks great, and worker clean up after himself, unfortunate it is not enough privacy for me and will have to add something to bathroom window.. The work was done professionally and I wish I chose a different option on privacy glass, just wanted more privacy in the shower area(as the window is eye level height). And yes I would hire them again...

We've used BRL many times, but this is the first review we've written. Over the years, we've had them install 30+ windows and two doors and they've always done a great job. Our salesman, Bob, is a really nice guy, as well as honest and straightforward. We've never felt a "used car salesman" vibe and enjoy doing business with him. The installers are professional and polite and, overall, do a good job. Any issues we've had after install with minor things like trim or caulking, they've fixed immediately and didn't give us a hard time about it. This time we had them install the Simonton lifetime transferable warranty windows (DaylightMax 7300) and they've made a huge difference in our A/C and heating bills. The screens are almost invisible and the windows turned our master bedroom from a cave into a well-lit room. The old black metal windows had black screens that we couldn't even see through. It made a huge difference! Overall, we highly recommend BRL.

This review is for work BRL did in April 2012 (I only joined Angie's list recently). BRL repaired two door frames and install four kick stripes for me. The work was done professionally and I would hire them again if I had a need. Wayne was courteous, professional, and patient to answer all my questions. He spent the entire day at our house completing the work and even stayed to help adjust the doors to make sure our alarm system contacts were working correctly.

It went well, they communicated with us well during the project. Kept me updated very helpful, and was able to work around my schedule.
