I purchaced an Island range hood from Brand Source because they offered installation. On the appointment day they were to install it, they never showed up that day. I repetedly called the store during store hours and no one would answer the phone. Finally after more than an hour later, they answered the phone. I asked why nobody answered. they told me they had no key to get in the store. I asked why they did not call me and not show up for the scheduled installation. They told me all the installers called in sick, and the could not do the installation for another week. I called the main headquarters in California and spoke with a man that said the store had been broken into the night before and he suggested I go to the store and pick my hood up, which was in the warehouse and luckly still there. So, I went to pick it up myself. After I picked the range hood up myself, I arranged for the installation again. One more week went by and they finally came only to discover two problems. One was in the attick. To build a small box around the vent stack to attach the stack safely. The other was, the hood was too close to the cook top at 23 inches. It needed to be fabricated to the installers specifications. OK, so I fixed those problems and asked them to come out and do the installation again, and they agreed. One more week went by, then they came again. This time they tell me the fabrication is wrong and need to change it . They left again. So I took there advise and took it back to the fabricator who sent the red flag flying and actually showed me what really needs to be done to get this hood to hang right at 31 inches above the cook top. When the fabricator was finished I took the pieces to the store and showed the man that sold the hood to me, what we did to make it right, he said it was perfect and he would go with the installers this time to install it and make sure it was right. Another week went by, and the installers came but, without the salesman, who promissed to be there to make sure it went right this time. He was not here! Again the installers said the fabrication was wrong. So, I called the manager of the store and asked where the guy was that promsised to be here and he said , he called in sick on a family matter and " that was more important than installing a hood",( after all the problems I went through to get to this point, I didn't care.) The manager reminded me they had been here 4 times and would charge me for another installation when, the salseman that sold the hood to me said they would not charge me again because the installers were missleading me.( He told me that when I showed him the final fabrication, with his approval.) The manager was getting very angry because he was so wrong. He threatened to remove the installers because, the manager did not know the facts and did not communicate with his employees. I asked him not to do that, they were already in my home. I told the manager I was going to complain to the home office and his responce was, "Ha, go ahead, were not affiliated whith them anymore" So I just hung up. How much abuse can a person take? So I went in to talk with the installer once more and I asked them to read the simple 16 steps it took to install it, from the installation guide. ( which was left handy to them to look at any time, right on the counter top next to them.) He looked it over and, discovered he was wrong all along. Because he did not read the instuctions first and did not know how to install this Island range hood. I could see the embarassed look on his face. After that, the hood was hung finally within an hour. I could have bought this range hood any where but, the installation would have been a problem for me. That's why I went with Brand Source.

They have a really good stock of different items form different manufacturers. The staff are very knowledgeable and don't try to over-sell you. Very good at explaining your selection and the best product for you.
