Description of Work: My husband and I hired Best Buy Shutters to make shutters for my home. The owner (Garry Wartenberg) came out to give an estimate and was very pushy. He talked us into his shutters and how they were the best on the market. My husband and I did some research and found out that his product is garbage. We called to cancel our order only to be told that the shutters were already made and ready for install. That was 1 business day after we ordered them. We knew that was not true. We went to the factory on Russell to see the finished product and we were shown someone else's order, not ours. We insisted that Garry give us back our deposit and cancel the order. After numerous conversations he agreed to cancel our order after lying to us repeatedly about our order being complete. Garry refused to give us our entire deposit back. I went as far as calling a local news station to find out that we weren't the only ones dissatisfied with this company. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with Best Buy Shutters or Garry Wartenberg.

Description of Work: They manufactured custom shutters for all windows on a large house. They forgot to manufacture one shutter and then missed the time frame they said it would be done by. We also asked to have one more shutter done with an arch and that was a multi appointment process. | |Communication within their shop could be better and it is a bit frustrating to stay home from work multiples times. Still they were courteous and apologetic throughout and so far we are pleased with the finished product.

Description of Work: I ordered the wood shutters in January 2015. Gary said it would take 6-8 weeks for installation. It is 17 weeks later and shutters have not been installed yet. I have been calling them and they always have the same excuse. Delay is at the port because of the strike that was settled in February. They haven't offered any alternatives. they only said that it is out of their control and that they are sorry.

Description of Work: BEST BUY SHUTTERS are located Not on Russel Rd but at 5720 S. VALLEY VIEW. | |We ordered shutters from them for our entire house. The shutters we bought from BBS are of smooth satin finish they call them "POLYCEL", are not only beautiful but are tightest closing than any other shutters we looked at. Their "POLYCEL" shutters(now ours) are strongest and most insulating compare to several other shutters we were shown by other vendors. We had 3 estimates and BBS came in as the best priced. They make their shutters at their factory on Valley View, that was important for us that they are made here locally in Las Vegas. Their installers did a very professional job, in fact, we recommended BEST BUY SHUTTERS to several of our friends.

+ -1 moreThe story is humorous, Gary spent a couple of hours measuring and advising. Then as he prepared to depart, his car wouldn't start so he was stuck with me for a few hours while AAA came by. So I got to talk with him, he's interesting and just beneath the surface is a dedicated knowledgeable professional. While he and I were talking I had not decided on which company to choose, and Gary had time so he educated me way beyond normal sales presentations. After AAA towed his car away I gave him a lift to Enterprise and subsequently made the pick of Best Buy Shutters. Recently I needed some repair work on shutters having to do with doors not necessarily the shutters. Trevor did a great, on time and professional job, he adjusted the shutters to the repaired doors and I am very happy to recommend this company. There are many unhappy customers in the area when it comes to shutters, I think it is because the companies are small, shutters are labor intensive and lead times are tricky since most shutters are custom. Best Buy Shutters are a safe bet for your peace of mind.
Description of Work: Excellent customer service and professional installation. There are a few "Best Buy" shutter and blind somethings here in Las Vegas and this is the one owned by Gary. My review is confined to the purchase from them in September 2011, and a follow up in December 2012. Their quality is excellent, their price is fair, Gary and his team made no promises they did not keep and I rate the overall purchase A+. Gary has at least two fantastic and dedicated installers, Trevor and Casey who are extremely good at what and how they go about the installation. Since we only buy shutters once, I feel it is important to not only get a good quality/price but also get competent installers who spend extra time and energy making sure all goes well.
