I wasn't happy with Alco Landscape Company. They actually didn't want to do what is in the Big Deal. I can't remember, I think it was something about eight hours worth of landscaping and then they said they would haul the way everything. I don't have that much to do so, I have this hedge thing to be cut. So, I was hoping that they would do that. And, the owner or manager said well we don't go above five feet. They didn't want to do that and they also didn't really want to haul everything away. They trimmed it a little bit and they had four bags and they told me I could set it out for my garbage man. And, then there was a guy who did the work and he was very nice. There was only one guy and he wasn't there for eight hours. But, because they didn't really do what I needed them because I don't have grass or anything, there wasn't really eight hours of work to do because they didn't trim everything down the way I would hope they would have. The person who came and did the work was very nice and he worked very hard the whole time he was here.

Initially contacted me within the specified 2 days by email--my requested dates were not available but they did suggest an alternate date. Due to circumstances beyond my control I was able to reply for almost a month. Called company directly on Monday, March 3 & asked for contact person (Fernando Arriga)to call me. After 3 days without a response I emailed them through Angie's list on Thursday, March 6. I received an email response on Fri., Mar 7 stating per our phone conversation (which never took place) they would be here last Saturday (Mar 8) to do work but needed to hear from me by 3pm on Friday or it would be rescheduled. I responded to them at 1:52p.m. on Friday (via email) with the expectation they would be here the next day & requested timeframe. That is the last communication I have had with them--they were a no-show on Saturday & I have had no further contact with them. I want no further dealings with this company and am requesting a refund of the purchase price since no work has been performed. The following Saturday they showed up at my house at 8:15AM and started ringing my doorbell. When I didn?t answer, they continued to ring my bell and knock relentlessly. When it became evident that I was not going to answer, they just started doing work in my yard. I ran out to my yard to tell them to stop and that I had already cancelled my Big Deal, but they had already leveled three bushes. They had to call their supervisor, then they finally cleaned up and left.

They arrived on time and completed the work in a timely manner. They trimmed plants and a tree in the front yard and pulled weeds in the front and back yard. They cleaned up all of the debris and bagged all of the weeds, leaves, etc. The yard looks very nice.

They falsely advertised what they would provided for the service. I cancelled the work and got a full refund.

Said price was to low in ad .thry did take away two pick up beds worth of yard debri,Clean work.

They were very prompt, professional and conscientious. They did a great job.

They were good. They were fast, reliable and thorough.

-The man called on his way to my house, very polite -we walked the yard and went through the tasks to be completed -started to work and only stopped for lunch -owner stopped by to make sure everything was going as planned -the young man worked hard all day and did a great job

Alco overall did a very professional job. One issue came up where the rock they put down was much redder that the existing rock. When the owner indicated it was not a good match, Fernando had the red rock removed and brought in a whole new load of rock that matched perfectly resulting in an excellent outcome (at no additional cost). Fernando is totally oriented toward customer satisfaction. I would use him again.

I purchased the $199. "Landscaping Special", which provided 8 hours of yard cleanup, pruning, and removal of plant material. Fernando (owner) said he would arrive between 7am and 7:30am. He arrived at 8am. He was pleasant and professional. His worker, Juan, was very helpful and courteous. He did a fine job of cleaning and pruning my yard. The day before the yard cleanup was to be done, I had discovered that there was a leak in the bubbler line. It was a quick fix, that Juan handled efficiently. Unfortunately, it was also discovered that the main valve was leaking and needed to be replaced. According to Fernando, irrigation is not considered part of "landscaping", and it would cost $180. to replace the valve (including the valve). He said he would send someone out to repair the valve the following day. I did not understand why it couldn't have been done while Juan still had two hours left of the 8 I had paid for, but I assumed it must be a fairly big job that would take more than 2 hours. The next day, a new man arrived at 2:30pm to start on the valve replacement. At 2:40pm he had completed the task. 10 minutes! When I questioned Fernando about how he determined the rate of $180. for a 10 minute job, he simply stated that that was what he charged. I persisted, asking him the cost of the part--he thought it was about $90. (I haven't seen the receipt yet). I stated that I thought $90. for 10 minutes was unreasonable. He reiterated that was the charge, that irrigation work is not charged by the hour, but by the job, and the job of replacing a valve is $180. I feel completely "taken". I will not use Alco again. I rated Alco a "D" for dishonesty.

Emailed them on a Wednesday and asked to do the work soon as my roses needed cut back quickly. Emailed me back the next day and stated they would be here on the 28th (Tuesday of the coming week). Showed up Tuesday, about 8 am and I explained what I needed done. One person worked on my yard till about 1:30 pm. He did a wonderful job. Trimmed all my roses, oleander, and bushes. Cleaned up all the weeds and leaves from the trees. Raked my gravel, and noticed that one of my plants was dead. He had someone pick up 3 plants at the nursery and deliver them. He replaced the dead one and put the other 2 in empty planters in my back yard. He re-mulched my roses (I already had the mulch).He tried to attach my hose reel to the back wall, but didn't have the correct tools. He bagged up all the trash (7 bags) and left them out front. Thought they would come later to get the trash, but had to call on Wednesday to remind them. He called me back and apologized, sent someone out at about 7:30 Thursday morning, got the trash and attached my hose reel! Fantastic response time. They were very knowledgeable about all the plants and trees and knew exactly how to trim and care for them. Special was $199, but I paid an extra 100 for the plants and tip. Honest, professional and they get done exactly as asked and more.

HORRIBLE - We rushed our morning to ensure we were ready for 7:30 however 7:30,then 8:00 came and went. At 8:21 I called the office and Patricia stated Fernando told her he had a job with us today and that she would call him, check and get back to me. At 8:33 I called her back and left a message as no one responded to me. At 8:40 Fernando called to tell me he would be there in 7 minutes. When he arrived "all dressed up" I asked him if he was going to work dressed like that and wondered where his crew was? I asked why he was so late and was told they had issues with their trucks starting so I decided to keep it moving. As I walked him through the front and back of the property I showed him what needed to be done: 1) mow lawns, 2) trim bushes in front and back, 3) trim "bunny ear" cactus, 4) trim lemon and pompegranite bushes 5) blow and remove leaves. At this point he turns to me and my wife and says "I don't trim anything over 5 feet tall due to insurance coverage". WHAT? You promote yourself as a landscaper and you don't trim above 5 feet. So my wife, who was flabbergasted said "as no one in landscaping has ever said this to us before let me get this straight" and repeated what he said. Fernando got upset and spoke condescendingly to my wife who told him DONT speak to me like that - and he stormed off. Good news - I am not in a monthly contract with Alco Bad news - I still need my landscape cleaned P.S. Angie's List was great - they had a real person on the other side of their phone number and are in the process of reimbursing me the prepaid amount

We hired Alco to do our back yard last year. They did a very good job. This year, we want to do the front yard. With good experience we have had with Alco, e hired them again. I cannot be any happier with their job. It turned out to be one of the best landscape in the neighborhood. They helped me from design, picking the material, and all other details. They complete the job on time and on budget. I had a couple other bids for this same job. Alco was about 30% lower. I would recommend Alco for any landscaping work and will hire them again in the future.

Alco has done a very nice job for me. His price is reasonable. His workers have a lots of experience doing landscaping. They help me from design, picking matrial ans make suggestions. I am very happy with their job and would use them again in the future.

I couldn't be happier. I originally got several bids- but after talking with Fernando Arriaga, the owner, i felt so comfortable. Every question i had was answered- he really listened to what i was saying and got everything just right. After we decided on the design his guys got busy removing my old backyard. Then everything went just like clockwork- They showed up when he said they would- they were done when he said they would be.

Alco did not impress me. They installed a system that still does not work. We have called them and called them; they do not return our calls. They have not shown up to date to fix their work so our system properly works, either. You could call me a dissatisfied customer.
