Alco Landscape Co

Purchased 8 hours of landscaping, but only received two (four if you consider it was two guys). I guess they worked extra fast. I didn't have a problem with that, however it would have been nice if they had asked me if I had anything else they could do before leaving. I have not heard from them since, but I assume that that is that. My landscaper could have done the same amount of work and it would have cost me less.

Overall a good, professional job. Looks great! My disapoinment was the cost. Angie's special price: $260. We expected it to be more becuase we asked for more. I feel we were way overcharged for the work, plants, etc. We expected probably about $1200. additional. Final price? $1900. PLUS the $260. special price. Total? $2160. More than expected and WAY overcharged. Shocked! "Steak tonight !"

I would certainly recommend them. Fernando was polite, profession and very helpful with all questions. The workers [two] were equally profession and hard working They were here from Mon to Thurs. all day. We plan on having more work performed by ALCO in the near future and I am certain all will go as well. I MUST UPDATE MY REVIEW AS OF 10/9/2014. I HAVE BEEN REQUESTING THAT THEY COME BACK AND TAKE CARE OF WEEDS THAT GREW BACK IN ABOUT A WEEK. FERNANDO AGREED TO TAKE CARE OF ANY PROBLEMS THAT AROSE IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. WELL, OTHER THEN A CALL SAYING SOMEONE WOULD COME BY,NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. WE ARE PULLING WEEDS OURSELVES,NO FERNANDO OR HIS MEN. SORRY TO SAY ANOTHER TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN CONTRACTOR.

There was some miscommunication on the footage that was covered under the terms of the Deal. There were going to be some additional costs to do the work that I wanted done. I found these additional cost to be too high so I have contacted Angie's List in order to get a refund of the Big Deal purchase.

ALCO Landscape designed and created a beautiful desert oasis in our desolate backyard. Everyone who worked on our project was knowledgeable, friendly, professional and careful to work within our budget. ALCO made the project affordable and stress-free with beautiful results.

They showed up on time, asked questions about what my concerns were, pointed out some things they could do that I hadn't even thought of. When they left, I barely recognized some of the overgrown desert plants that I had in my front yard! They had trimmed them up so nicely- I didn't know that was how they were supposed to look! Everything was neat and clean and I would definitely use them again.

They kept changing up the information... I do not feel comfortable using this company. Please refund.

Ultimately the plan we were going with we just decided to not do. I didn't have any contact with them.

The deal was $219.00 for 8 hrs. of yard work. Fernando of ALCO Landscape Co. came at 7 am. with two workers. I explained to him the work I wanted done ( as mentioned above) and he said O.K. He asked if the trash was going to be picked up today and I told him "Yes". He then left and I noticed there was not a work truck parked in front but they had all drove up in their personal vehicles which I thought was a bit odd considering the work they were going to be doing, the tools they would need, and the trash ( 5 rather large bush stumps) they would have otherwise had to have hauled away. The two workers began work and had the 5 bushes out and at the curb for trash pick up in a little over 2 hrs. I then pointed out the approximate location of the leak to them and they began digging to find the leak in the tubing. Thirty minutes later one of the workers was on the phone speaking in what sounded like Spanish. When he was done he told me they had to leave and that Fernando would call me in a half hour. It was 10 am. when they left and at 11 am no phone call from Fernando. I called him at 11:30 am. and had to leave a message for him to call me when he got my message. He never returned my phone call. I got 6 hrs. of work ( 2x3hrs.) and was left with a hole in my back yard where the leak is. No I would not hire them. No I would not recommended them to anyone.

They stopped by and gave me a list and drawings. The deal itself was great and worked out great. They stopped by within a few days and gave me a huge whole list of plants. He is super knowledgeable! They did a great job even though we chose not to move forward with the work right now.

They did not confirm when they would arrive for the appointment. They gave us only the day they were arriving. They came at 7am and started knocking on my our door. We were not prepared for them to come that early so they had woken us up. It took a little time for me to get to the door. They asked me what needed to be done. I told them there was some dead grass I would like to have removed. He was hesitant to do this and said usually they did clean up work. I asked if he just didn't want to do it. He agreed to due the work as asked, and told his workers they were leaving at 11am. They started working at 7:40am and then left at 11. They did not tell me they were finished or that they were leaving. I called him after they left once I had seen the work had not been finished and he asked me what my problem was and what I wanted to get out of this. He was rude and had an attitude. He was not good with customer service and was completely unprofessional.

Well when I first bought the all day clean up I checked my email and was told via Angie's list email to contact Fernando. Called Fernando and was told that he would get back to me. Fernando sounded very distracted and never got back to me. I forgot about scheduling, due to work, and eventually checked Angie's list email-6/14-and had a message in 5/14 asking me to call to schedule service. I called and scheduled service for 6/6/14 at 7am. Landscapers showed up at 7 am and were finished at 9/9:30am. No where near all day. They left and I noticed fallen fruit on the ground under my grapefruit tree as well as leaves. Dead fronds 6-7 feet off the ground that could have been cut off by the tool that does that without getting on a ladder, but anything over 5 feet doesn't get touched. I did check the work when they were done, but obviously not close enough. The only thing I suspect why they didn't clean up the fallen grapefruit is due to dog droppings that I hadn't cleaned up. I assumed that the debris would be hauled away, but was charged an extra $70 for that to happen. I just checked the voucher on Angie's List and it says "Debris will be removed and hauled away.". So basically I just got taken for an extra $70. I wouldn't use this landscaper again and highly suggest others don't either.

It went perfect. The crew was very detailed and clean. They showed a variety of options for me to choose from and they were very patient to all my requests. Future jobs are going to be done by them. I simply loved it!

They have not done the work yet, but they have been responsive so far.

It didn't work out very well. They can't communicate with us and they got here about quarter to eight and they left about 10:15 so we got two hours and fifteen minutes and that was it. The young workers worked fast, they blew the yard off and they took out a couple of bushes and re-planted a bush but the man that brought them speaks English and we were able to speak to him in about five or ten minutes and he was in a hurry and then he left them here. It was already paid for, we're not asking for a refund we're just disappointed about the program how it turned out. I don't know a lot about the company, I think I would suggest be very careful on hiring them to do the work; whose coming and what's it going to be and get everything understood ahead of time. They were here on time.

Great experience from start to finish. They contacted me right away to set up the service. The guys arrived right on time. Did great work. Even noticed a few problems we hadn't seen and gave us the options on repairing it. They were polite and professional. They cleaned up - even the clippings that fell in our pool! They bundled the clippings for us. The yard looks great. We will use them again for our next service.

My off day work schedule changes rapidly, they were able to help me out and do several reschedules with enough prior notice!

They showed up, installed a paver patio within a few hours and it's beautiful.

Initially, the service provider and I exchanged contact information via Angie's list messages. The next interaction was when Fernando showed up at my front door with no prior notification. As i was getting ready for an appointment, I quickly explained what I wanted done. He said he would measure the area and get back with me. When he did call, the price he quoted was higher than I expected. He cited the square footage so we measure and the square footage was 250 square feet less than his quote. I then called their office and left several messages thinking we could work something out. However, I have not received a response and I'm done.

I love my new patio!!! It looks great, just as described and agreed upon. The job was completed very quickly, even though it took a couple of days for us to make arrangements. The owner showed up right on time for the estimate, but the employees were an hour and a half late to perform the work. That wasn't a deal breaker for me, but I suppose some people are more uptight about that. They didn't try to up sell me, which I appreciated. I'll definitely use them again in the future.

Two thumbs way up! Mr. Arraign and his crew showed up right on time and began trimming and cleaning up my yard. They dug holes for new plants, fixed the drip waterers. It looks gorgeous in my backyard now!!!! Very happy!

Mr Arriaga responded in a timely manner and agreed to have him and his crew come out to remove plants, remove a stump, perform maintenance on the drip system and clean up the yard. He bid on extending the drip system. I accepted his bid and he said he would do all of it the following day, 4/18/14. He did not show and I spoke to him on the phone several times and he reassured me that he would be there the next day. This is a manufactured home and the lot is 25 x 50 landscaped only in the front so it was a very small job I don’t understand at all why he just didn’t follow through. On 4/19/14 two guys in an old car who had no idea of what to do and as I discovered had no tools except a leaf blower arrived on the Saturday of the 19th . They sat in their car eating. I called Mr Arriaga and he told me to tell them about the five lantana plants that needed to be removed and removing debris from the gravel yard and that he would send someone out later with the tools to complete the job. No one else came out nor did Mr Arriaga call to reschedule. I am very angry that I have to spend so much of my time to correct a problem that should not exist. I bought the deal, even though I probably didn’t need 8 hours of labor, to avoid a hassle and have the peace of mind that the job would be done before the deadline.

They were fast and efficient.

Bought the $199 special all day landscaping service special run by Angie's list last week. This was immediately charged to my AX card. Waited to receive an email back. Nothing. Sent a followup request Sunday, nothing. Sent another email this morning requesting confirmation of my purchase. NOTHING! Poorly run companies like this deserve to be shaken down. They get Fs from me.

It was satisfactory. I had no comments one way or the other.
