Alaskan Heating & Air Conditioning

I needed my A/C unit checked in my condo, where my tenant is my 93-year-old father. Robert and his assistant, Marcel, called to confirm and arrived on time and ready to work. They checked the A/C unit, tuned it up, cleaned it, checked to see that all parts were working properly, and checked the thermostat. I only trust my A/C to Alaskan and specifically Robert because in Las Vegas where summer temperatures can climb to 115 and above, a good A/C is an absolute necessity. Alaskan's work ethic is exemplary and cannot be matched by any company that I know of in Vegas. All their people are professional, intelligent, courteous, and efficient -- from Julie the receptionist to Chad, the owner and everyone in between. Thanks, Alaskan, for being the Rolls Royce of A/C companies but without the exotic prices!

We have been customers of Alaskan Heating & Air Condition for over 3 years. We have been in our home since 2005 and have had many different companies inspect and service our equipment over the years. Alaskan has been the very best service company for many reasons. Initially, they gained our trust by explaining why we didn't need the parts or repairs that other companies recommended or said we needed. They also took the time to inspect and explain why we continued to have a leak through the ceiling after the problem was supposedly fixed by a company sent through a home warranty plan. When they approved the necessary parts and repairs (thanks to Alaskan's help), we obviously didn't want that company back and opted to have a check from them and have Alaskan do the work. Each technician has always gone over and above a typical service call. Robert was here last week for our annual A/C inspection and, as every technician, was very professional, knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. He took the time to explain everything he was inspecting, answered questions, and even went in the attic to check something I had a question about. This is a lengthy Review, but it's a pleasure to acknowledge a company that has integrity, does excellent work, and values and consistently provides excellent customer service.

Exceptional service. Just had an a/c checkup by Robert who phoned me to tell me he was 10 minutes away and then he arrived within 10 minutes. Super knowledgeable and professional. Prior to leaving, he reviewed everything that he checked during the service call. Excellent job. As a confirmed skeptic, I might say that this was a lucky one-off. But I had an issue with my furnace earlier this year and selected them somewhat randomly. The phone was answered promptly and the lady was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Raul (sp?) came out the same day, repaired the furnace quickly, and then checked my entire system to be certain there were not other issues that needed to be addressed. I have yet to find another company which could compare to these guys.

The service tech, who said his name was Matt, arrived on time, was courteous and polite, appeared thorough and knowledgeable, and spent a fair amount of time on the servicing. When finished, he spent a lot of effort trying to sell me on a long term service plan. I didn't mind this - they don't make much if anything on this kind of a service call and wanted my future business. What I did mind were a few other things. First, he said that the condenser coil needed to be cleaned and if I didn't get the service plan he would charge $220 to clean it. I realized later that this was on the list of items Alaskan agreed to do at part of the 20-point inspection, and he was asking that I pay another $220! In addition, he said the capacitor was "nearing the end of its useful life" and I should replace it - $180 (or "only" $144 if I signed up for the $620 service plan). I later checked on the retail price of capacitors - the ones that come up on a Google search and appear to be identical to mine average $15! And replacing them takes a minute or two. And finally, when I told him I needed a little time to think about buying the service plan, Matt told me he would give me a follow up call. I planned to discuss the above items with him when he did. It is now 5 weeks later, and I have not heard from him, so I decided to address them here.

Robert did a thorough, excellent job explaining what he was doing. Outside unit sprayed, cleaned. He advised lightly spraying it with water on extremely hot days to cool it down. Voltage, etc. tested too. No issues.

There was no charge for this visit. They get A's all the way through.

I was serviced by a technician named Robert. Robert was very professional and very knowledgeable about air conditioners. He went out of his way to show me what he was going to do and also explained everything throughly to the point where I understood everything better and how air conditions works. He showed up on time and completely looked over everything. Being that I worked in customer service for over 10 years I can tell he truly loved what he does and how he does it. I asked many questions and he was patience and very helpful. I definitely recommend this company because of the quality of service I experienced and I'm not an employee, I'm a ln actual customer that was serviced about an hour ago!

Great. Robert explained everything and installation was on time, done professionally and without incident. Also had my ducts cleaned and the crew worked quickly, and efficiently.

Everything went well, but it was extremely busy at that time so there was a little delay in arriving.

It went very well. I had to "coax" one of the workers to do a better job than he intended to do and offer to tip him a bit more which I would have preferred not to have to do. For example, I had a duct not operating at the proper temperature and I had to push the technician to fix the ductwork in order to make sure that it was functioning properly. On a repeat visit (I got an extended service warranty), a different technician did an outstanding job and even put in a couple of Nest thermostats for me at no charge! That is what ultimately got them the "A" rating.

Called them out on a weekend. He identified the problem, got the replacement part ordered and returned to install within a couple days. Has worked with no problems since.

Great. Marques Thomas did an excellent and thorough inspection and tuneup. He added Puron and sprayed chemicals on the coils. We were so favorably impressed we decided to sign up for regular Spring and Fall inspections and tuneups with Alaskan. The price for that was reasonable; less than half of what we had paid with our previous contractor.

It was fine. It was a good price. They are quick and responsive. The workers were ok. They were friendly.

I would use them again, they warranty the product so I don't have a problem with that. It took 2-3 days. It went very well.

They did very good. Overall, I was very satisfied with them. Their quality of work was very good. They were very efficient, did the job correctly, and they made sure it was done right before they left. The workers were very nice.

One person came out to do the project and it took about an hour. They did a good job for me.

They were fine, I didn't have any issues with them. They did an okay job of servicing my stuff. I have no complaints nothing to call out they replaced the part they said needed replaced. I assume they were honest about it, I have no reason to believe that they weren't. So it was fine.

I used them three years ago, and I haven't used them yet. I don't think I will be using them now. They're are better services out there now. I felt it was a waste of money. The advice. They didn't even clean the circulating fan. I would except to clean it, but no, they just give advice. Just a way to make you pay more money. To buy a new air conditioning. Its a ploy, They will evaluate your air conditioning, its not an service, just to get more business. In case your air conditioning is old and needs replacing, they are there. They ask for a lot of money to replace your air conditioning. Its a big money making business. I think its just their coming over price. Honestly, a lot of them, one something. Came, I'm charge you for this, seven hundred dollars, to fix my air conditioning. Just a way to get business, not to help you. Selling insurance, just in case it breaks, its free, something like that. You don't have to pay anymore. The owner called me, I would come, if I could do it better. Its the same thing, selling commercial air conditioning business. I would say, get another company. The workers were fair.

Everything was fine. They did well with the project. Cleaned up behind themselves.

They were good. Fixed a problem they found during yearly maintenance. Came when they said they would. Cleaned up behind themselves.

The cost was outrageous. I don't think they are more than other companies. An air conditioning unit costs a lot. The price included purchasing and installing the air condition unit. I wasn't here when they installed it. My oldest daughter was here watching my house, and we were out of state. The air condition went out, and it was an old unit. So, she did not know I had Angie's List and she looked in the phone book and she picked one. The came, they could come that day, and they came and we fixed it. They left the area very clean. The best aspects was they worked with her, and they worked around our dogs. Part of the price included that they would do an inspection. They came in 6 months and made sure it was good to go. It was all included in the price.
