Alaskan Heating & Air Conditioning

We purchased a Trane heat pump from Alaskan Heating and Air Conditioning 3 years ago. We have been very impressed with the quality of the unit. Additionally, they come to Pahrump to check and service the unit every 6 months. They always call in advance to set appointments and if we are not going to be home they will come at our convenience. Everyone we've had contact with has been very courteous, friendly, and professional. Today Matt came to our house to service our unit. He was so friendly, efficient, and polite! We get many calls during the year from other companies, but I am always proud to tell them that we deal only with Alaskan Heating and Air. I would highly recommend them.

I was impressed by the company's efficiency in scheduling my appointment after my online purchase. They even had my first choice of time slots available. I was also pleased with Jobab's punctuality and with the great job he did on the air conditioning tune-up. I therefore decided to purchase the service membership, which means they will be coming out again in the fall and next spring. Jobab returned on 5/25/16 to install the thermostat, and everything went very smoothly during that appointment as well. I am very pleased with Alaskan. There was never any heavy pushy sales pitch, but consistently a job well done.

Their office receptionist was very friendly and professional over the phone while setting up the annual AC check appointment. Technicians were on time and also very professional and friendly. Robert did the annual A/C check which is free as part of my prior AC coil installation. He checked everything and provided clear and informative feedback about the condition of the outside unit and how it was running (which was poorly). One thing he showed me the gauge voltage reading which was over the rated voltage (which he showed me on the unit itself). Then we discussed if the unit should be replaced immediately or not. I chose to do it. He quickly arranged for a technician to do the install that afternoon and provided comparison costs and differences in warranties for different condensers that they install. He also noticed my thermostat screen is starting to fail so he gave me a price on that as well. He also provided a 10% discount on the work. Sean arrived on time a few hours later and installed the unit. He did a great job as well. I originally chose to use Alaskan after I called them for second opinion on my furnace and AC coil. Their professionalism and clear description of their findings s why I chose them and keep relying on them to check and make recommendations on my HVAC needs. It makes you feel better to understand the equipment and the problem a little better before committing so much money to costly HVAC repairs. Thank you Alaska Heating & Air!

I purchased this house in the fall (2015) and the previous owner had installed 2 new a/c units for my home. She also purchase a service agreement. I was told the service agreement would be transferred to me until the agreement ended. I called Alaskan to schedule an a/c tune up and Julie answered the phone. Very delightful. She found the address of my home and said that yes, they will transfer the service agreement to me. Jobab showed up today to do the actual service. What a really nice guy. He checked it all out and everything was fine. He also went over the details of the service agreement and said he'd see me in the fall to check my furnace. Just an overall great experience with Alaskan. I would recommend using them!!!

$99 service covered filters and water line. Was charged $130 for a $9 float valve and $130 for two .99 cents drain plugs. total $338.00.

They did a great job. I was very impressed with this company and would recommend them to anybody.

Matthew was very knowledgeable and was able to fix the problem immediately. Matthew added a drain to prevent water from getting into the inducer assembly. This was under warranty; so there was no cost. Matthew was a very clean cut individual.

My service window was from 8:00-10:00. Raul contacted me at 7:45 and arrived at 8:15. He was very courteous and professional. All the work was performed to my satisfaction in a timely manner. All my questions were answered. I have utilized Alaskan in the past and will continue to do so.

Tech was professional and efficient. Communication with the company was timely and complete.

The installation was fine, other then damaging my ceiling bring the equipment in. They neglected to do some of the service work. The equipment has some kind of a coating on it and they were to remove it before I turned on the system. They didn't do that so I ended up having a fire alarm go off. I called the service department and they told me to open up all of my windows and that it would burn off on it's own and that my fire alarm would shut off. The newest problem was the inspection. They pulled permits and delivered a ladder and the permits so that the inspector would have them when he showed up. The inspector was scheduled to show up Monday, November 9th. The inspector never came so I called Alaskan Heating & Air Conditioning and had it rescheduled for today, November 12th. When the inspector came this morning at 8 am, the ladder and permits were gone. I was told that someone from the company came and took them away. The inspector gave me a notice that they couldn't do the inspection due to the ladder and permits being gone. I called Alaskan Heating & Air Conditioning and was told that they must have had some kind of miscommunication. I was given the option to not have an inspection at all or to reschedule again for when I would be home all day. I spoke with them today and they told me it's my responsibility that it gets inspected. I don't have permits or a ladder and according to the city, it is their responsibility to provide those items. I wanted an inspection to make sure the equipment is installed properly and safely. I told them I would be here Monday the 16th for the inspector to come back. I cannot wait until 5 pm for him to show up and give up another day. They said that the ladder and permits would be back by Monday morning. They're customer service is terrible. I shouldn't have to tell the company what needs to be done with the inspection, it is not my responsibility.

I have used Alaskan Heating and Air last year to purchase a new heating\air conditioning unit for my home. They have been so professional and friendly, I used them again this year to replace my original 1964 ducts through out my entire home. Robert, provided prompt, courteous service. He gave me an immediate quote for the job and had it installed and done the same day. It was a big, messy job and it was done well. They cleaned up everything before leaving. Financing options were an added bonus. Thanks for a job well done!

I used the $49 coupon special. The tech Matt was punctual, professional and personable. This was not a "quickie" inspection. Time was paid to the details of a thorough inspection. I incurred no additional charges as everything was fine. Let's face it, most of us know nothing about how our furnace works and Alaskan Air could have told me I needed additional services but this didn't happen. Good running furnace was good running furnace to Matt and Alaskan Air. Kudos! I will be using them in the spring for my air conditioner inspection.

Very friendly, knowledgeable tech. He called to say he would be slightly delayed, which was much appreciated. Went over his findings and made recommendations. We were impressed and purchased a service contract.

It was fine. I have an older house and so they were not used to working on my type of system. And so it was a little bit frustrating. They weren't able to fully diagnose what the whole thing was all about, but they were able to give me some feedback, check things out and do some repairs that potentially could help. It was just whatever the cost of the Big Deal. They were super friendly and as helpful as they could be, just weren't able to get the final results that I thought I would be able to get from having them come out. I would tell a friend to use them if they have a newer house. They seemed like they were a good company, just didn't have experience with a much older home. If the service was performed normally, I think it was a pretty good price given what it would cost not with the Big Deal. They were there on time.

Our A/C went out at the wost possible time - on Saturday evening in the middle of a record heat wave. I had already been told that my current unit could not be repaired, but we were hoping to limp through the end of the season, but it was not to be. I went through my August Angie's List catalog and sent e-mails out to all of the A/C contractors who had posted ads, paying particular attention to those who had won service awards. Robert from Alaskan called me at 8:30 on Sunday morning, and he came by later that day to show us what they had to offer, and the various options and prices. We decided to replace the heating system as well, since it was approaching 20 years old (the A/C was nine years old). The installers arrived at 9:15 on Monday morning and got right to work. It took some doing, as they had to enlarge the attic access in order to install the heating system and the new coil. We also had them clean the air ducts, which we had never had done. Before a single bit of work was done inside the house, the technicians taped down plastic along the areas where they would be walking in order to protect the carpet, and they wore shoe covers as they entered the house. I was impressed by their attention to detail, and their respect for our property. We were told that the A/C unit (which was turned on for the first time at about 3:30 PM) might take until midnight to get the house cool. It was 101 degrees inside the house when the first cool breeze from our new Maytag central A/C unit started to blow out through the vents. The unit had the house at 74 degrees by about 9:30, when it shut down for the first time. Time will tell how durable the heating and A/C units turn out to be, but we are very pleased by the responsiveness and the professionalism shown by the people of Alaskan Heating and Air Conditioning.

Robert came to our house in September, 2014 to give us a price on an air conditioning unit. As we were not ready to spend that much money we did not commit to his contract, but he was a perfect gentleman. We called again in March, 2015 and it was Robert who came to see us. He looked at our equipment again (not the rush through job even though he'd already been here before) and gave us our options. We appreciated the information and trusted what he was telling us. We got several estimates and because their pricing was fair and we trusted the technician, we decided to go with Alaskan Heating & Air Conditioning; not only did we replace the air conditioning unit, but we replaced the furnace as well. They were able to schedule the install around our busy schedule and made no mess at all. They did have to make the entry to the attic area a bit bigger in our ceiling, but the people they work with to make the repairs and reinstall the trim were wonderful as well and you'd never know that repairs had been made. I would recommend this company to anyone including my family and friends because they did what they said, they did it quickly and efficiently and for the price they promised. We've dealt with a lot of not-so-great companies since we've been in Las Vegas, but this company is a gem. I would give them an A+++++++ and hire them with complete confidence again! The A/C stopped working at my condo on an afternoon that was 106 degrees. My tenants are 83 and 92. I immediately called the original installer (NOT Alaskan) of my 5-year-old unit and they said they would come in 4 days! I called Alaskan at 4:00 pm and Carlos, the technician, arrived at 4:30 sharp. He was the ultimate professional as he checked the A/C, ran diagnostics, and identified the problem as a burnt out condenser fan. Within 1/2 an hour, he replaced the unit and the A/C was repaired and worked fine. I had used Alaskan last year to install a brand-new Trane unit in my own residence and I knew they were good. But what I didn't know is how much you can count on them in an emergency. And, believe me, a broken A/C on a Las Vegas summer afternoon IS an emergency . . .Thank you!

The service tech arrived promptly at 8 am as scheduled. He determined that the circuit board in the furnace had shorted out. He didnt have the part but went and got it at the local HVAC supply house. Had us up and running in 2 hours.

Great service. On time, polite and professional. Gave me straight answers to my questions. Didn't try to upsell or talk me into anything. Very happy with service.

Alaskan has done it again! Just when I think Chad and his crew couldn't possibly exceed my expectations anymore than they already have, they continue to do so. These guys go above and beyond my expectations.........EVERY........SINGLE........TIME. So a couple of weeks ago, I decided to purchase a thermostat with wifi capabilities. So, I uninstalled my existing thermostat and hooked up a new one. The only problem was........the C-wire. I had a C-wire running into the home but it was not properly installed inside the furnace / blower. So, since I have had previous work done by Alaskan on a few occasions, I picked up the phone, called Chad, explained the situation to Chad regarding the C-wire, and he offered to have a tech come out at NO CHARGE to check it out for me! Now, that's what I call awesome customer service and taking care of his repeat customers! A tech came out within the scheduled time frame, verified and checked the thermostat wiring, verified and checked the furnace wiring, hooked up the C-wire, and verified and checked to ensure the system worked properly. After about 10 minutes we were up and running! Chad, you and your team are awesome! Keep up the great work! Like clockwork. I sent an email through Angie's List. Got an email response within an hour. The representative came the next morning to diagnos the system. Came back later in the afternoon with the quote. The OWNER and his technician were at my house the following morning at 8am to start the install. They worked all day and did a fabulous job. I specifically joined Angie's List for this issue because I am soooo tired of companies ripping me off...overselling and under delivering. I can't say enough good things about how pleased I am with Alaska Heating and Air. They are a little more because they only use top quality products. I would recommend this company to any and everyone. They rate high and deserve every star plus! This is my first positive experience with a company since moving to Vegas 4 years ago. called Alaskan early Monday morning stating I purchased a angies coupon for tune up. They called back giving me a service day and time for Tuesday. On Tuesday Matt was on time did his work stated what parts I would need no pressure sales. He told the cost and I accepted it took minutes to install. Matt was great In and out. I would have this company do another job for me.

Alaskan Air schedule our new replacement system the following day . They arrived promptly at 9am,put down plastic on all the floors and over our clothes in the closet where they needed to access the attic door. All work went promptly and they were finished by noon. We also had them clean the air ducts and this was also done by noon. All the Alaskan Installers were very courteous and wore coverings on their shoes while in the house. All the old equipment was removed and the house and ground outside cleaned up The system a Maytag is super quiet and has a 12 year warrenty. We love it.

We had lived in our house for about 4 years. The heating and cooling had never been satisfactory and our power bill was huge. We had a couple of different people come out, but nothing they did ever helped. Everything has worked perfectly since Alaskan Heating and Air conditioning fixed it, and our power bill dropped by more than half. It was a lot of money, but with what we have been saving on our power bill, it should pay us back in about 3 years. They were recommended to us by our daughter and her husband. When we saw they were on Angie's list, we knew they were a good company. Recently our son and daughter in law were having problems with their air conditioner, and called someone else to come and give them an estimate. They were going to charge them $2000. I told them to call Alaskan, which they did. They fixed their air, and only charged $200. Alaskan now has three satisfied customers just in our family.
