Their tech Raul, arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He said I needed a new condenser and gave me an estimate for the work. He had the air conditioner working within thirty mins. I am 73 yr old Viet Nam vet and have some trouble climbing up to replace my air filter, Raul noticed that my air filter needed replaced and offered to replace the air filter with a new one that I had on hand but had been unable to put in place. Raul was professional, and helpful; my experience with him made me feel that I had made the right choice in choosing Alaskan AC.

This was the first time my fiancee and I called Alaskan to repair an HVAC unit. Robert showed up on time to diagnose the problem. As we suspected, our 23-year-old unit was dead. Robert suggested replacing it with a 16-seer Maytag. He drafted a proposal and gave us a fair deal. In addition, he did not charge us for the service call, and he reimbursed us for a one-night stay at Suncoast, since it was after hours and the unit could not be immediately replaced. The next morning Derrick, Jimmy and Sean arrived on time to install the new HVAC unit. They performed the work in an efficient, professional manner. All four techs were extremely courteous and consummate pros. We are so glad we decided to call Alaskan. We make the highest recommendation without reservation.

Incredible service! On a Saturday night, when the temperature was still well over 100 degrees, one of our air conditioner units started making a horrendous squealing noise.We went right to Angie's List and read the excellent reviews about Alaskan Heating and Air. They couldn't have been nicer on the phone, and sent a technician named Matt out to our home within the hour. He diagnosed the problem and said we needed a new motor for the unit making the noise. He didn't try to upsell us by suggesting others repairs or services, or even new units as other companies have done in the past. He got right to work and was done within an hour or so. I can't speak highly enough of Matt's professionalism. He is also SUCH a nice man - very kind and gentle, obviously trustworthy, and was wonderful with our 3 noisey dogs - a definite plus in our book. Two weeks later we called the company back because we couldn't get the air to go lower than 75 degrees in our living room(the unit that had the motor replaced) They sent Matt back out to our house in less than an hour(and he remembered all the dogs' names! ) I'm not exaggerating when I say he spent 2 3/4 hours trying to figure out the problem. He basically took the outside unit apart looking for a problem, went into the attic to check the coil, cleaned the filters, reprogrammed the thermostat, measured the temperature of the air coming out of the vents many times, and even the temperature inside the wall behind the thermostat. He also put a piece of insulation inside the wall behind the thermostat to get a more accurate reading. He was amazing! In the end, he said he thought we needed a new the thermostat. He said to wait a day and see if the thermostat readjusted itself, and if not he would come back to replace it. My husband and I were stunned that any technician would spend so much time trying to find a problem, let alone suggest we not jump the gun and replace the thermostat immediately. And he didn't charge us one penny - truly amazing! Air Conditioning in Las Vegas is critical as we all know. I've heard numerous stories about disreputable and gouging Heating and Air Conditioning service companies. This was the complete opposite experience. I highly recommend this company to anyone and everyone. We will never call another company but Alaskan Air.

Air conditioner was not working. Tech had the part immediately and replaced the blower motor. Was very prompt and courteous and explained everything that he was doing. Would hire again.

This was one of the best service provider experiences I've had in years. Our large, 20ish year old A/C unit condenser quit spinning around 8 p.m. on a Friday night and it's summer in Las Vegas! I quickly signed into Angie's list and found Alaskan Heating and Air. At 9 p.m. I was on the phone with Courtney and she patched me through to a technician--Matt. He scheduled me first on his Saturday list. Both of these people were very good about asking and verifying my name and specifics just in case the phone call was dropped. Matt stated the cost of the diagnostic trip and their policy of reducing this same cost if service was performed. Saturday morning arrived and I received a notification call from Matt about a half hour before appointment time. He showed up exactly at the appointed time in his (dare I say, lovely) Alaskan Air van. He was clean, uniformed and equipped with booties for indoor treks. He asked about the problem, checked the thermostat and headed outdoors to the unit. We described the symptoms we'd observed the previous night. He thought he knew the problem and within 1 minute of removing the cover panel from the unit, confirmed a bad capacitor. He showed Hubby and I the faulty capacitor and explained how he knew from a visual check that it was a goner. He removed it, told us the cost of replacement and asked if we wanted to proceed with the repair. From my previous research I knew the price was in line with other reviews. Alaskan Air has stocked their vans with the necessary parts so there was no waiting. We agreed to the price and within 10 minutes Matt was finished. The unit immediately spun up and was working. He checked the amps and showed us where the specs for our particular unit were listed. All levels were acceptable. He then checked the cooling inside with his nifty heat gun and noted the difference in air temps. Ahhhhh cold air again! Matt completed his paperwork and was savvy enough to bring me a few of his business cards and such. (I live in a neighborhood where we exchange information about service companies often.) During my conversation with him I mentioned that we were expecting to replace our system in December and asked him a few questions about brands and such. When I paid him, he asked if I wanted him to contact me in the future with information regarding a system replacement. I hope to be speaking with him again. For now, we're back in the cool air all thanks to the professionalism, skill and promptness of Matt of Alaskan Heating and Air Conditioning. I will definitely recommend him and his company to my neighbors and friends.

Fantastic dealing with Alaskan Air! From the first phone call to the final check by the City Inspector our experiencce with Alaskan Air was wonderful. Our Service Tech Chris and our installers Sean and Evan explained what was needed, informed us of our options and immediately set to work removing and installing our new air conditioning unit the very same day! Everyone we dealt with was courteous, professsional and informative. We highly recommend Alaskan Heating and Air Conditioning! A+++

We had a positive experience all the way around with Alaskan. My husband called Monday evening to around 8pm (they are open at night!) for a unit that wasn't cooling. We thought for sure we would have to wait a few days to get someone to come out with it being the middle of the summer so we were very grateful when they sent Raul, a technician, the very next morning at 8am. Raul was very professional, thorough, and knowledgeable. He got the unit up and running again in about an hour. He even wore shoe covers while walking around the house which a was a small but appreciated detail. We highly recommend this company and plan to use them again should the need arise.

They came out that same day (its in the middle of June when tempatures were over 110) When the tech (Robert) came out he told us what was wrong, unfortunately our unit was from the 1980s and it needed to be replaced. Not really that surprising. After doing research on our end we found another company that offered us a better deal. After talking to Robert, they matched what the other company would give us. They were wonderful, even after it was installed we had a small problem, and they sent out a tech that day to make sure we were happy.

My experience with Alaskan has been excellent. My A/C went out late Saturday afternoon. Within 2 hours Chris was at the house, checked out the unit and gave me a price for repair and also went over the details of a replacement unit. The A/C was 16 years old and I had decided not to do repairs but to replace. Chris said if I went with the new unit he would repair the old at no cost so we would have air until the new installation. I had researched brands and service so I knew the price was reasonable. I told Chris I wanted a couple of hours to consider. I phoned back and opted for a new unit and within a few hours and before the house had a chance to warm up from the July heat, the unit was repaired and running and the new installation was scheduled for Monday morning. I talked with the owner Chad, and was impressed with his attitude that satisfied customers was the way to grow business. Allen, Derrick, and Joey did the installation. They showed up right on schedule Monday morning. They explained exactly what they would be doing, kept me informed as work progressed, and answered all questions and went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied. They could not have been more professional, helpful and courteous. I knew that Alaskan had a good reputation, but the scary part is researching brands. No matter what the brand, the reviews were about the same. About 45% of people thought their A/C was junk and needed constant repairs. Another 45% just loved their new A/C. Ten percent rated the A/C as OK. The consistent thing during my research was the importance of installation. If the A/C is installed correctly the unit is likely to run well with few problems. Otherwise problems are likely. Allen, Derrick, and Joey had more than twenty five years of experience between then, and I feel confident they did an excellent installation. I am extremely satisfied and pleased with Alaskan, and would highly recommend then to anyone. I will update as I have more experience with the unit and the service.

It was a very smooth process. All my dealing was with Robert who went out of his way to answer all my questions. Although, it took me some time and a whole lot of questions, he was always there to answer; without any pressure. When I decided to go ahead with the install, Robert went to my house and took the measurements within one hour. Then he called me to inform me that the model I ordered was out of stock, and I will be getting a free upgrade! No complains there :) A few hours later, the installers Derick and Sean showed up and did a superb job installing the unit. By 5:30pm, we had cool air flowing in the house again. My overall experience with Alaskan has been A+ from the beginning, and they truly know how to pick their employees and train them. They've got one customer for life in here.

I started off my AC repair fiasco by going to Yes! Air Conditioning & Plumbing. They were a complete rip-off, they wanted me to completely replace an entire AC unit that is only 4 years old. Once I told them no, they moved onto the dog and pony show trying to say I needed to make several costly repairs which would end up cost thousands of dollars (and come to find out would not have even fixed the issue at hand). I decided to call Alaskan Heating and Air right after they left. I was greeted by a very kind staff member who informed me that they offer a free second opinion. She said they could have some out that day between 6-8p.m. (currently 4p.m. at that time). To my surprise the service technician (Chris) showed up at 5p.m. which was amazing. Chris was very friendly and knowledgeable. I showed him were the AC unit was and he identified the problem in less than a minute which was completely opposite of what Yes! AC had said. He was able to fix the actual problem (no power going to the fan motor) right then, and for only $200 (saving me several thousand dollars). I will only use Alaskan Heating & Air Conditioning from now one.

I called late last week to schedule an appt. for seasonal service on our 2 air-conditioning units. I chose an appointment window of between 10 AM-12 Noon on Monday, June 20th. I was to receive a call before the technician arrived. Josh, the technician did call about 15 minutes before his arrival at 10:30 AM. He was very polite and introduced himself as well as donning slippers before stepping on our carpet. He performed 2-20 point check-ups on our air-conditioner units. He discussed at length what he found and then asked if we had any questions. At no point did he try to upsell us as another company we had used for many years tried to do each time they serviced our units. I wanted to sign up for a service membership plan and Josh explained what was covered in doing so. What Josh did right: Called before arrival Came within the 2 hour window Exhibited a polite manner Answered all of our questions Performed the service efficiently Informed us about the ages of our air-conditioning units and told us they were under warranty (new info. for us) Filled out paperwork correctly I can't think of any suggestions for improvement in regard to Josh's work.

The tech was very kind and professional. The staff was also very helpful and fun! Thank goodness for them! The AC is running -- fixed within an hour!

We wanted to do a check-up on our A/C unit before the temperatures in the valley got really out of control. Matt with Alaskan Heating & Air came out to our home at the designated time. He checked our A/C unit (the electrical wiring coming out of it included), efficiency, filters, and vents. Matt removed the debris that had fallen through the gaps into the shell of the unit and cleaned out the drains. He was very knowledgable and keen to educate about the operation of the A/C unit. We didn't feel pressured to buy any additional services. The cost of the service was as advertised on Angie's List: $59.

Jobab telephoned in advance of my appointment. He arrived timely, was courteous and very professional. He performed the cleaning o the units with precision and knowledge. I am very pleased with his service and work and would definitely utilize Alaska Air for repairs and or servicing in the very near future! Thank you.

Our house have two air conditioning units one for the East side and one for the West side. The air con at the West side was the first we wanted repaired that had stopped working about a day before. The repairman arrived promptly as promised by their office who I talked on the phone, which I found on Angie's List. The outside air conditioning unit as examined and a faulty electrical capacitor was replaced, total cost was $200. We also asked the repairman to look at the East side unit that we know the fan motor was broken and not working with previous repair estimates from other AC repair companies. The repairman verified that the motor was broken and he offered to look for an exact brand and model replacement, they will call the next day if they found a new motor and would give us an estimate. They called next day and said they found the correct part and gave us an estimate of $640 and we agreed with the price. The repairman arrived on time and replaced the fan motor also turned on the gas valve for the heater, he then checked the outside unit for proper function, and turned on the East side unit and it worked fine. When he adjusted the temperature setting on the thermostat, the thermostat was not responding, the batteries was changed to new batteries but still not functioning by not showing the temperature setting and current temperature reading. The repairman gave us a quote of $160 to change the defective thermostat and we agreed and he installed it, everything worked properly as promised.

We had a great experience with Alaskan Heating and Air Conditioning. Everyone was very friendly and professional. We were given a same-day appointment and received a courtesy call from Robert before he arrived at the house on schedule (actually a little early which was great!). Robert was very professional, courteous, and went through all of our options for repair or replacement. He was happy to answer all questions. We ultimately decided to replace our 16 year old unit, and Allen and Gary completed the entire replacement the same day. They were also professional, courteous, and willing to answer any questions. Alaskan arranged for a dry wall team to repair changes that had to be made to the attic entry for the replacement. They also schedule a follow-up permit inspection of their work. Overall, we received great service, and would recommend this company to others in need of an air conditioning (or heating) repair or replacement.

Alaskan Heating and Air always does such a good job for us. Jobab came out this time. They come twice a year to check both of our units, and make sure they are working properly. They change the filters, and Jobab even cleaned the vents for us. Always on time, polite and courteous. We would recommend them to anyone.

Josh, The technician called to inform me of his time of arrival. He was punctual and very professional including putting booties on his shoes to enter my home. He checked the outside AC unit and replaced some freon. The air was still not cooling so he had to crawl through my attic and found the air handler side panel had not been replaced by the last company I had hired to do work on the AC units a couple months ago. I would like to add that Josh went into my attic which was at least 120 degrees as I live in Las Vegas and temperatures were triple digits. My business will always request Josh at Alaskan Heating and Air Conditioning. He had no problem calculating my bill with the Angies List discount in our magazine. Josh called ahead and arrived on time. He introduced himself when I answered the door. My husband was pleased with the information he shared after the inspection. We would recommend Alaskan highly.

Josh, the Alaskan Heating & Air Conditioning representative called around 9:30 AM to let me know that he would be at my house within 15 minutes. What I liked most about this was that I was told that the technician would arrive between 8:00 AM and 10:00 for my appointment and they kept their promise. When Josh arrived, he cloth coverings over his shoes to protect the floor and I then showed him where the two units were located. Josh went out to his truck grabbed his tools and went immediately to work. All in all, the inspection took about 20-30 minutes and he came back in and said that everything was working fine and handed me the paperwork. I went over the report and noticed that some of the wiring on the units was rotting and that the lines connecting the wiring, etc to the house was missing its insulation. None of these conditions was a surprise, to me as I had already looked at the units. Josh asked me if I had any questions, and I said, "How are the units?" He replied by telling me that they were old and inefficient and that they wouldn't get anymore efficient over time. This did not surprise me as the units are the original units installed when the house was completed in February of 2002. So, the units are over 14 years old and I knew that they were worn because they don't cool as well as they used to and are now incredibly noisy when they kick on. At that point in time, I decided to ask Josh about the units that they offered and what he would recommend for replacement units, should I decide to install a new system. So, Josh pulled out the brochures and specifications for 2.5 and 3 ton units for me to take a look at. The SEER rating on the units ranged from 14 to 15 SEER. There were 4 ton 16 SEER units, but those would have been overkill for my single story 2600 square foot house, so I had him price a comparable set of 2.5 ton and 3 ton units. Both of those units were rated at 14 SEER units. I then asked him if rather than a 2.5 unit and 3 ton unit, if I would get better cooling to the back of the house with a 3 ton unit, and he said "yes". So, I had him price out 2 14 SEER Split Gas with variable speed furnace Maytag units for the house and the price came to $16,200.00 including installation and removal of the old system. The price was outstanding and the system came with a 12 year warranty and free annual servicing of the system for the first two years. I have to check my paperwork, but I believe he threw in an additional two years worth of free service. So, I was very pleased with the quote. I decided to go with the new system and Josh asked me what would be a good day and I told him the following weekend. He then told me that if I wanted, he could have the system installed today. I was really surprised, because it was now 10:30 am and I was trying to figure out how they could possibly install a system on the same day. However, Josh assured me that it could be done and I signed all of the paperwork. Josh made several phone calls and then informed me that a crew was on its way to start removing the existing system and that the other member of the crew was on his way to pick up the new system. I had to run my daugther over to an event and told him that I would leave the garage door open in case the crew arrived while I was gone. When I returned home, the crew was already in the back yard removing the two AC units, which they completed in under an hour. Shortly after they removed the existing units, the other truck showed up with the new system, and they came in, put down plastic on the floors and shielded off everything with plastic around the trap door leading to the attic. They immediately got to work. I believe there were a total of four technicians working of the system. What was amazing is that by 2:30 PM, they had completed the installation of the new system, had performed a complete system test of both the AC and heating, and had completed all of the cleanup. The only thing that remains to be done is a little drywall repair on the access to the attic and they had sealed that off with plastic and the drywall technician will be coming this week to complete the final repairs and touch up. What is really amazing about their service is that I have a colleague who has a single story house of 3000 square feet and it took them two full days to remove and install his new system. Obviously, every house is different and the technicians told me that the access in my attic was very roomy and they could stand up, which really helps expedite the installation. To say that I am pleased with Alaskan Heating & Air Conditioning would be an understatement. Their tune up service was done professionally, on-time, and thoroughly. The technician, Josh, was coureous and professional and was not pushing the replacement of the system. All of that happened as a result of my questions regarding the exsiting system and wanting to know about options for the replacement of the system. During the whole time, Josh didn't push the sale of a new system, but simply answered all of my questions in a direct and concise manner. In essence, his knowledge, his professional demeanor, and the quality of the products that he presented me with, did all of the selling. Nothing worse than a high pressure sales job at your home to ruin a perfectly good day. However, nothing of the sort occurred and I could not be happier that I chose Alaskan Heat & Air Conditioning to service my house. Talk about having a great day and being totally satisfied with a purchase. Wow!!!! The icing on the cake was when the temperature later that day soared up to the high 90s and I was sitting in my house at a comfortable 76 degrees. The other nice part was not hearing the AC unit whine and make noise when it kicked in. I literally had to go outside next to the units to hear them. The only way I can hear them from the house is to open up the kitchen window which sits just above where the units are installed. The other great part is knowing that I am not going to have to worry about my AC going out at a critical time this summer and having to sweat through hours, or even days, waiting for a technician to show up. I also am going to drop my home warranty insurance because the only reason I was carrying it was because I knew my AC was going to die, sooner rather than later. So, that will save me a cool $500+ per year. So, if you are thinking about having your AC system serviced or even thinking about getting a new system, don't hesitate to call Alaskan Heating and Air Conditioning. Maybe you will be lucky enough to get Josh to show up. But honestly, after talking with Josh about the company, he told me about how they go over all of the customer ratings from Angie's List at the beginning of every week to look at both the pluses and the minuses. So, I knew that the company has a customer focused and believes in top notch service. So, whomever shows up will do a great job!!! I have been using Alaskan Quality Air for over 10 years. They have installed 3 furnace/air conditioners at my house and condo plus twice yearly checkups. This May a check of the air duct system was performed. Robert told me I needed a new duct system (house is 30 years old). They installed it 2 days later. Robert usually does all my checkups and I trust his word when he says something needs replaced. I cannot believe the improvement in air flow and in my breathing. I have allergies and asthma so this is great . Since Robert and his boss felt the ultraviolet light would help also I had it installed. Having worked with this company for so many years, I have found the installers and office people to be friendly,and efficient, What ever that has been installed, was done efficiently, with a minimum of bother and at the end of the installation cleaned up.
