+ -1 moreGreat! Because the move was an easy job, he actually came same-day, came exactly in his estimated time frame, and had the entire job done within an hour. I've never had a piano moved before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. That being said, I am a professional musician in town, so my standards are set high regarding the care of any instrument. I was pleased with his efficiency and care of my beloved piano.

+ 0 moreJoe is bright, chatty & personal, with a generous & caring spirit.? And mostly, he cares about performing excellent service all the time.? He knows that these pianos mean a lot to the owners & he respects it.? He has packed up & moved so many of my pianos over the years, put them together again & all without a hitch that I consider him an expert mover.? One time, when I was moving out of my house, he took my piano & my bed for me so he could set it up in my new home. And he does his work without a fuss or attitude. I wouldn't have anyone else. By the way, he charges me less because I've used him so many times but he should charge more.?
Description of Work: Joe Maffei, owner of Advanced Moving Company recently moved my grand piano from a Henderson location up to my home on the Northwest side. He has also moved one other piano for me, a large upright,? so within the last 7 years, a total of 6 moves in all between the two pianos & the various situations I've needed him.

+ -1 moreIt is obvious they are very experienced in piano moving by their effortless method of loading and unloading the piano to and from the 2 houses & into and out of their truck. The truck also contains sturdy piano straps inside & outside, to completely keep the piano from shifting during transport. Within my home's tightly spaced hallway there is a "zig-zag" area they had to get past in order to move the piano into the room where it now 'resides'. They handled that easily as well. My piano sits into exactly where I wanted it ,to be within the room, and it arrived in it's new resting place without any scratches, dents, or mars of any kind! Joseph (owner) is an awesome piano moving genius in my book!!! I will definite use this company again for piano moving if or when the piano needs to be relocated again within NV area OR within my home itself.

Description of Work: I called Advanced Piano Moving requesting a move of a baby grand piano. They indicated that they could move it later that same day. I told them the address that the piano should be picked up at, and they knew the location because they had recently moved several pianos to this house from California. The owner was a piano teacher who had six pianos in her home. | |They were late delivering the piano due to traffic problems, but did deliver it that same evening. They appeared to have the equipment and expertise to move pianos of this size.

+ 0 moreWhile our cell numbers had been text to him, Wednesday he left two messages on our home phone number. One early in the afternoon and one in the evening - both while we were working. He said he had called 20 times but left only 2 messages and only to the home number because he lost his phone. He actually acted like it was our fault we were not home to reschedule on Wednesday - the same day he was calling. He cancelled our appointment because he was going to California at 4am. He absolutely had no concern for the delivery commitment we had made.I guess if your schedule is completly flexible, you could give Joe a call.
Description of Work: He was very quick to answer the call and schedule our appointment on short notice. He was very nice and offered to loan us a piano dolly to use to unload the piano when we reached our destination.He quoted us $210 to move our piano from the living room into a trailer plus $180 deposit for loaning the dolly. He said he would return $180 upon return of the loaned equipment. He asked me to text him phone numbers and details which I did. We made the appointment on Saturday for the coming Thursday.

+ -1 moreThis company proved unreliable and not trustworthy to me. I called and made an appointment between 10 and 12 o’clock. At 10:30 Joe, the owner of Advance Piano Moving, called me to confirm where the piano was located and what cross streets were close to the house. I informed him where the piano was located and the nearest cross streets. At 12:15p.m. I called him and asked him when he would be arriving. Joseph seemed incoherent and did not know what I was talking about or that he had an appointment. He caused me great disappointment and inconvenience. I would be careful before hiring Joseph of Advance Piano Moving.

+ 0 moreI needed my piano moved because I didn't like the way the rug was laying underneath it. The piano needed to be moved to the hall, the rug adjusted, and then the piano brought back in. That is exactly how the job went and it only took about 5 minutes. The movers helped me make sure the rug was straight and my piano was level. They did not leave until I thought it looked right. A job well done.

+ -1 moreJoe did a great job. We moved a piano from my brother's house to mine, and got my old piano out of my house. Joe had a suggestion to donate my old piano to a non profit that donates instruments to those who can't afford them which provided the perfect charity for my old piano. Joe was able to make the move on the same day that I called to get an estimate. My brother said he was professional, and fast once he arrived to get the piano, and when he was close to my house to deliver he called to let me know. The whole process was quick and pleasant.
Description of Work: Joe picked up a piano from my brother's house, delivered it to my house, and took my old piano away.

They both were very courteous and acted in a professional manner. Joe seemed very knowledgable with a history of piano moving locally for some time now. I would use this servce again.

+ -1 moreHe showed up almost 2 hours early and, because we were not available (and unable to answer the phone), he left. When I called him back at our originally scheduled time he told me that he had already left our location and would not be completing the job. This was incredibly frustrating because I had taken off work so that I could be home at our SCHEDULED time. Furthermore, he did not seem to understand my frustration - saying over and over that he'd shown up and we had not answered the phone. Why in the world should we be expected to be available 2 hours prior to our appointment window?!?

+ -1 moreThey offered to make the move that same evening, which was great. However, they arrived much later than scheduled. They handled the piano with great care while moving it, and it came through scratch free. However, they used a power drill (not a power screwdriver) to replace the screws in the brace for the extension that includes the pedals, and broke off one of the screw heads in the screw hole, and just left it that way. They did not have the means to remove the broken screw from the screw hole, so the brace has only one screw holding it rather than the two it should have. In the yes or no section, I said I would use them again; however, I'm not real sure. Their prices are very good and they did handle the piano itself with great care. If I used them again, I would insist on having all fasteners installed with a manual screw or nut driver.
Description of Work: I purchased a mini baby grand electronic piano from a listing on Craig's list. I hired this company to move it to my home several miles away, and set it back up at my home. The price was a bit higher due to the fact this was a mini baby grand.

+ -1 moreObviously, everything went very well -- he was on time and went out of his way to accomodate my needs -- including the library mentioned before.
Description of Work: Joe is extremely well versed in the art of moving large, heavy objects -- such as pianos. He conscientiously wrapps everything -- sometimes double-wrapped -- and straps things down so they cannot move and get scratched. Of course, he specializes in pianos, and it is my understanding that he does most of the work for Yamaha here in Las Vegas. He and his assistants are almost unnaturally strong -- they moved a five piece llbrary that weighed well over one thousand pounds -- without a hitch or a scratch. If you want to minimize your moving costs, consider having Joe move the heavy stuff, and you rent a u-haul to move the lighter things, like chairs, clothes and appliances. I will use Joe again and recommend him without reservation.

Secured the piano well and delivered it to new house across town. They set up the piano as requested. Quoted price was $125. I was so happy with the work that I tipped them another $40.

+ -1 moreWent very well. I called and arranged a day/time for the move. I have a 1918 upright player piano in need of repair, and there happens to be a player piano repair man across town here in Boulder City. My husband and I (with help from friends) have moved this piano from California to Colorado, and from Colorado to Nevada. We have had it with moving this thing, unloading/loading it into Uhauls. It is heavy! Joe and coworker arrived. It always took us about 4 people to move it, so I was skeptical. They loaded the piano onto a dolly, into their truck (they made it look so easy), drove with me across town, unloaded it at the repair shop. No problems. When the piano is fixed, I plan on calling them again to move it back to our house.

Description of Work: I bought a used baby grand piano and wanted it moved quickly. I contacted Joe via his website on a Sunday afternoon and he called back later that evening with a quote. Joe said they could move the piano later that night. I opted to have it moved the following day. Joe was running about 30 minutes late but called prior to the arranged time to let me know. They (Joe and another worker) loaded the piano very well and as quickly as could be expected. You could tell he knew what he was doing when the piano was wrapped and when it was moved up and down several stairs. They were very careful and I was pleased. Upon arrival to my house they were reattaching the legs and fixed a loose bolt without additional charge (the piano I bought is at least 30 years old). The price quoted was $200. After doing a bit of research that is what my husband and I expected to pay.
