ADT is the worst home monitoring service in Las Vegas! After 5 years paying a monthly $62.36, I finally had one alarm go off. My back door had opened. The dispatched guard had lied on his report stating he couldn't gain entry to yard and LEFT. Receiving the voicemail an hour later I had to come home and wanted them to come back also. They never came back. I had to clear the home MYSELF. Also look at their 1 star rating on Yelp for another 48 horrible reviews. Stay away!

No show. No call.. No customer service. No one cares.. Even if you call out of state, you'll get the run around!!... Cost me over $5000.00 to buy them out of my life. I should have gone to a lawyer!! They installed half the equipment then disappeared. I repeatedly called called every number I could find. Finally got through to a customer service "supervisor" only to be handed over to another sales rep that only wanted to upsale. I FINALLY (3 months later) HAD ENOUGH! And said only solution was for me to buyout the equip and go elsewhere. I paid over $5000.00 for about $3000.00 worth of equipment that I can't use.

My mother has had them for a number of years. She had not any problem with them. It's taking a while to get them in, so my likes was that they kept dropping the ball initially when I was trying to get an alarm system, but I was trying to install it my own and they kept dropping the ball, they didn't act. The last agent was really good, but prior to that three agents weren't.

The sales rep had us so confused in reference to what was being provided. They actually had to come back and remove items. The explanation was poor and seemed hurried. We are glad to have the service and is easy to work with. We thought they would place the ADT sign into our yard but they did not.

Been a long time customer with ADT with no problems since 2003 (11 years). Initially had two keypads -- after about several months, temporarily bought into a sales pitch and went with another company who took away one keypad and put in a two way. Company folded and taken over by ADT after a few months and so billing with ADT continued as if we never left. For the same monthly charge price, I have one keypad and no two way service (service taken away when other company went away and taken over by ADT). Today, after 11 years (give or take a few months) with the company, a tech came to upgrade 2G system to 3G. I asked tech about taking out the two way system and putting back the keypad that I originally had. ADT wants me to upgrade my service, purchase a new keypad AND pay $130 for the tech to come out again -- totalling $300+. No loyalty or desire to keep customers -- just charge, charge, charge.
Description of Work: Inquiring with customer service about returning the service of 2 keypads and removing the non-utilized two-way currently on the wall.

After using the system for about a year and a half I moved and asked to have the system turned off. Yet I was charged $50 for this month. I disputed the charge with my credit company and the money deducted from my card was returned. That is when the problems began. I was told I owed $672.09 for stopping service at my old address, this despite having been told that this charge would be waived if I installed the system in my new home. I made arrangements to have this done. The charge was not waived. Instead I began to receive daily calls demanding that I pay. The callers spoke as if they were a collection company. At no time did I receive anything in writing, though I asked them to send me a bill and written explanation of the charges. I finally gave up and to protect my credit rating I paid the bill and cancelled installation at my new home

After being a loyal customer for eighteen years I had to move into a house to rent. In order to keep ADT as my home security service I had to sign a three year contract. This was alarming to me because I was a loyal customer who never had a single claim and paid every bill on time. The owner of the house that I am renting decided to sell the house, so I bought a new house. I only used ADT for two of the three years on the contract and was told I have to extend the contract for an additional 3 years when I move. I do not agree with this practice and decided to opt out and go with ATT who has a better service. Now ADT is charging me 334.00 dollars to turn off their service. This is a horrible way to treat a loyal customer who never called ADT once and who paid every bill on time for now twenty years. This company is terrible for its business practices and I strongly suggest looking at its competition first.

Customer Service Rep Ricky Hodges of ADT provided unparalleled service in re-activating my previous ADT account along with providing useful information that I had never previously known about ADT. This is my third alarm system with ADT as they continue to be the best that I can find and this time with Ricky it went smoother than ever! We had a deal that if we signed up there was no set up fee and then it was $55 per month. It has been nice knowing that the house is locked up at night. We just moved to Las Vegas from Alaska so it has been a little scarey coming from such a rural area to the urban, so it has been nice. The guy that installed it didn't tighten up the outlet plates and seemed to put random holes in the wall. It seemed that if you pay someone to do something they should go back over it and getting the little things. When I called them they were really nice and good about explaining things to me.

Well their sales people are VERY slimy. All over the website, it states that a typical contract is for 1 year. And when i signed up for service, I also requested for service to be for 1 year. Somewhere in the fine print on some obscure page, it said that the contract was actually for 3 years. So when I moved and wanted to either cancel or move the service, the options became ridiculous. To cancel the service "early" since I had on completed 2 years of the "contract" their early termination fee is 75% of the remaining time left on the contract. To move the system to the new house, when I signed, was initially told that this was a free service, was told on the phone that it would cost me an additional $160 (after discounts) to move the alarm system to the new house, BUT I had to sign another 3 year contract!!! No thanks. I will pay their outrageous early termination fee and cut ties with this company. I recommend that you never get involved with them in the first place.

In just under three months we've had ELEVEN false alarms. Eight have been false fire alarms; three were false burglar alarms. The fire alarms occurred when I was making repairs to (sanding) a door jamb. ADT explained their smoke detector senses the sawdust created by sanding and registers that as a fire (funny, but none of my "normal" smoke detectors do this). At least this was a logical explanation, but ADT was not able to do anything about it. Only a technician can turn the system off, and I wasn't going to wait the three days for them to send someone out to finish my door repair. During one of those false fire alarms ADT dispatch connected me with a technician, who had the gall to ask if I minded disassembling and disabling the system myself! Complete lack of professionalism. But the burglar alarms---though there have "only" been three at this point---are a much bigger inconvenience. Each time we've gotten the false burglar alarm we've been away from home (thankfully not out of town). By the time we arrive home, it becomes obvious nothing has happened, no one has even attempted to break in. The first time was particularly unnerving, since we honestly thought someone had broken into the house, and that we'd be arriving at a crime scene. Once, AND ONLY ONCE, an ADT security guard has shown up after we've come home due to a false burglar alarm. At NO TIME have the police shown up--in fact, the false burglar alarms have taught us another thing: even if the alarm is really warranted, WE have to call the cops. YEP. Even if we're a thousand miles away, and have no earthly idea what's going on at our house. ALL ADT CAN DO IS CALL THEIR OWN GUARDS TO YOUR HOUSE. Which, like I said, has only happened once. In three burglar alarms.
Description of Work: Installed ADT's "best," most complete alarm system three months ago. System has a device on every door and window, a motion detector, and a fire alarm. Total installation ran about a thousand bucks. Monthly it's $50, making our total payments so far about 1200 bucks.

We like the service. But their billing department is horrible. In other words, we paid with a check and they charged us on our credit card at the same time. It's happened three times. I like ADT. When the alarm has gone off, they've responded quickly. The initial service was like $2,900 and we were charged on our card that too. Most people can't handle the cost. It would be a disaster. It took two months to get this fixed.

After I got off the phone with her I decided to just activate the alarm to see if they'd call, which would tell me my system was now fine. Well after hearing that horrible noise for about 7 minutes I turned it off and called ADT and was really upset that it still wasn't working. The call I spoke to said there was a note to ignore any alarm as they were working on it. She told me the alarm was activate by my garage door first, then back door and then front door, which was true. So I asked her to actually test it again and she did and it was fine (I didn't get disconnected because the Cox supervisor, who had also come to my house had me use his cell). So all was fine, but my concept of ADT hit a new low. I told her the Cox man couldn't find anything wrong and only put in a new connector, but it still didn't pass the test. She said "that wasn't necessary because all we needed to do was change the phone number in our system". So 5 hours of my day were wasted; along with a Cox tech then his supervisor when all that need to be done could have been done by ADT. I was shocked. The next day I realized that from Feb 24 to March 24 I paid for security that wasn't even working. I called them again and they said "we won't give you a refund because you didn't tell us you disconnected one of your phones". I was starting to steam and told her I had informed ADT on 2/15 and 2/23 that phone had been disconnected and that yesterday 5 hrs were wasted because of misinformation that I had to do this and that. That is the final straw and though I have 2 mths left on this 2 yr contract I'm looking for a new company. You see this wasn't the first time stupidity by ADT occurred. I spent the first 9 mths calling each mth because of incorrect billing, once I was asleep and the alarm went off, the called, but no one came for 1.5 hrs. My experience with ADT has been an ongoing pain in the neck and waste of my time, a Cox tech's time and a Cox supervisor's time. Inept is my word for ADT.
Description of Work: THIS REVIEW IS NOT ABOUT THE AUTHORIZED INSTALLER ON FIRE MESA ST. IT'S ABOUT ADT ITSELF. I had 2 land phones and a cell phone on record with ADT. I decided to disconnect the phone they first call me on. I called them 2/15 to let them know and was told they'd take care of it. On 2/23 I called them. I told the person I spoke to that I was getting 4 beeps every minute or so that were the same sound as when I activate the alarm. She said there was nothing wrong on her end and it must be my smoke detectors, which are not through ADT. I told her that wasn't possible as if the battery was low on them then I'd hear a consistent beep and I change those batteries 2 times a year when we the times change. She said "well I don't know what to tell you since it seems fine from here", which upset me. Then on 3/24 the same thing happened. I called and I was "you disconnected your phone and didn't tell us. We can send someone out to reroute it to the other land phone or you can call your phone company they won't charge you a fee to reroute it". I let her know twice I'd talk to people letting them know the phone was disconnect and never told anything about needing someone to come out. I called Cox, who came out the same day and what ever. He had me call ADT to test it. If failed. Over and over he tried to get it to work, but it failed. AND each time ADT tested it my call to them was disconnect so I had to call back again; even though they said "if we get disconnected I'll call you back". The 6th time I called ADT the girl asked for my 8 character password, which I've never been ask before and didn't know. I asked her to give me the first letter and I'd know which of the possibilities it could be. She refused so I asked for a supervisor. He got on the phone I told him what was happening and she said "your system passed the mthly test in January, but failed on Feb. 24th" to which I said "If it failed then why didn't someone call me" and he actually said "because you had your phone disconnected". I went through the roof and told him "you see my account and you know I have 2 other numbers listed so why didn't someone call one of them". He actually had the nerve to say "well that is water under the bridge, but we'll test it now" and before I could say anything I was disconnected and the test began. Within minutes a gal called me saying she was from the monitoring center and my alarm went off. I asked her what number she used to call me and she said the first was disconnected so she called me on the 2nd number. All I could think of was here is a gal that is probably making minimum wage and she is smarter than a supervisor.
