ACE HARDWARE

I went to Ace a few times after a recent house purchase. I liked the idea of using a smaller local store rather than Home Depot or Lowes. No logical reason because Home Depot both have better selections. I bought a water line tubing cap. It took 3 trips because they were in the wrong bins. I tried to rent a carpet cleaner. Their prices were about the same as a supermarket but the machine looked better. After giving me an overview of how the machine worked I was told all I needed was a local drivers license and a local phone number. I told the guy I had a nevada driers license but my only phone was my cel with an L.A. number. He would not rent me the machine. Never mind that I had a wallet full of credit cards with about $100k of available credit, cash and I.D. They would not rent a machine without a local phone number. What an asinine policy. I will never spend another penny in that store.
