+ 0 moreIt could not have gone better. Moni Ward was excellent to work with. The demo work went off without a hitch. When the design was complete it needed tweaks and Moni and his team handled perfectly. The follow up on items was prompt and every person representing the company was friendly and professional. Remodels are never fun and usually not exactly as planned, but if we ever did one again, the Absolute would be the first company we would call.

+ -1 moreUltimately, I chose to hire a company to do the cabinet work in my garage to save me time. I made my decision based on a credible referral, good written reviews, and a good sample of work. It is bothersome that the company does not have the quality control in place to ensure consistency in the delivery of their product. It is equally bothersome that they would expect me to waste more of my time so that they can attempt to fix a known issue that should have been addressed up front. I have only had this one experience with Absolute Closets and Cabinetry, but based on this experience alone, I will not be working with them again. Needles to say, we didn't have them do the laundry room cabinets.
Description of Work: Different definitions of quality Before I start, I am usually a person that takes the time to write a thank you letter or recommendation about a job well done. It is very rare that I write a review about personal experiences, but in this case I felt my experience was worth sharing. We had Absolute Closets and Cabinetry out in June 2017 to provide estimates for garage and laundry room cabinets for our home. We were referred to them by our neighbor that has used them on multiple occasions and they also had good reviews on Angie's List and Yelp. My neighbor and I both have construction backgrounds and we place a higher value on quality over price. Although the garage cabinet estimate provided by Absolute was the most expensive of the estimates I received, I decided to go with them over others as I felt they would complete the work in a timely manner with high attention to detail. The sales process went well overall and we decided to have them install the garage cabinets first. The design process was good and the salesperson's measurements were accurate. The cabinets were installed in one day and after the installer left I noticed that a few of the cabinet doors had noticeable indentions or defects and a few areas of the cabinet bases also required attention. About a month later, the salesperson followed up and asked how the cabinets turned out. I explained that there were a few cabinet doors that had noticeable defects and a number of others that had small nicks and/or scrapes along the edges. The salesperson stopped by and then scheduled an installer to replace the doors and complete the touch-up process. After the installer had completed the touch-up, I noticed that there were still a number of noticeable nicks and blemishes mainly along the edges of the doors. Now, I realize that these are garage cabinets and I shouldn't expect perfection, but I feel that the quality of the finished product should have at least matched the quality of my neighbor's garage cabinets. I called the salesperson to inquire about the touching-up that was previously discussed and he informed me that the touch-up products they have do not match the color of the melamine I selected. He also made a point to explain that when melamine is cut it will always chip and there is nothing that can be done. Naturally, I was a bit confused by this response (as it was not an accurate statement), but I understood that he was setting me up to let me know that this was as good as it was going to get. He suggested that I speak to the owner if I was not satisfied with the quality of the finished product. Per my salesperson's recommendation, I did call the owner (Moni) and we had a telephone discussion about the cabinets. Moni re-affirmed that the gray color melamine that I selected does not touch-up well. I told him that if I had known that up front during the sales process, I would have selected a different color. His only suggestion to remedy the finished quality of the cabinets was to try and remove the doors that have nicks and replace them. He was quick to point out that since the gray color doesn't touch-up well, I would likely end up with similar results with replacement doors. I guess I was disappointed that a company would sell me a product with a known deficiency and expect me to accept their best attempt at providing a finished, high-quality product. It would have been much easier to accept this outcome had I selected the estimate with the lower price. Instead, I feel like I paid the premium price and received inferior finish quality.

I didn't think there was enough to tweak in their design, since it was pretty basic to begin with, that would bring it down into my budget range so we decided not to use them. The designer, Michael, that came out though, was extremely patient and professional.

+ 2 moreI spoke to a cabinet company about what I wanted & determined that for what I needed that type of business was overkill as far a materials & cost. They suggested a closet company would be more in line with my idea. Based on Angie's list reviews I contacted Absolute Cabinets. Nancy Zazza (design consultant) came to my home, listened to what I wanted & made some useful suggestions & followed up with a CAD drawing of the design Nancy came back with another gentleman to discuss changes and again to finalize the design, color & other details. It took about two months from initial contact to installation. On the installation day two gentlemen showed up right on time with all of the parts & literally built the unit in on site. There was one snag with a measurement error that they were able to resolve with no problem. The installers were very efficient & professional. One of the shelves has started sagging but I do have quite a bit of weight on it (heavy books.) They suggested I flip the shelf over & it should be fine. Other than that I am very pleased with the outcome & would definitely use Absolute Closets again.
Description of Work: Built in bookshelves in the dining room of my new home. I had similar bookshelves in my previous home that I wanted to duplicate. I had a fireplace in the center of the bookcases in my previous home that I don't have now so I wanted to also create a "mantel".

+ -1 moreI requested an appointment through Angie's List. A few days went by and I got a call from the company. It was a Thursday and we made an appointment for Monday at 11 am. No one ever showed up and I received no email, text, or phone call explaining why or asking to reschedule. I'm very surprised considering the other great reviews. I went with another company. Their loss.

We had a couple of issues immediately after the install and they were very prompt on returning and addressing the issues. I would recommend them to anyone looking for closet and/or cabinetry work.

+ -1 moreNancy never called nor emailed my husband. I called her (her cell phone) a couple of days ago and left a detailed voicemail. No response. Nancy didn't call back. Very unprofessional. I trusted the previous reviews that's why I called this company. Not impressed with their customer service.
Description of Work: An appt was set up to get an estimate of 3 closets--shelving, drawers, etc. Nancy met with my husband at the house and she took measurements, wrote down what we would like, and she told my husband that it will probably take about a week to get the pricing. She will email or call my husband when it is ready.

+ 0 moreThe company was recommended to me by family. They first came out for an estimate and provided me with blue-prints. After agreeing on the design, they built the cabinets in their warehouse and then brought them for the installation. They completed the job all in one day and cleanup was great! They even textured the walls behind the old cabinets in preparation for the installation of the new cabinets. They were excellent! I have recommended them to friends as well.
Description of Work: They installed a new custom closet in my master bedroom. It included double hanging shelves, shoe racks, cabinets, and much more.

+ -1 moreThey took things into consideration that I never even thought about previously, like matching my height and my husband's height to the cabinets. They did things I never even had to ask them to do (including caulking my old cabinets) and my work station works really well for me now. I have another set of cabinets to compare the new ones to and these are of great quality. They made everything match from the counter tops to the handles. They were very professional, friendly, neat, cleaned up after themselves, and were very gracious. When they came out for an estimate, they even fixed my old cabinet area. They also came out and re-caulked everything that needed to be fixed afterward. They really are top-notch. If you are looking someone for cabinets, they are excellent.

She came back before the actual job with Moni (the owner) and to do final measurements and discuss the job scope. Then their workers came out and did the job on the weekend. Everything turned out great, and we plan on using them again to do an entertainment center. Highly recommended.

+ -1 moreIt is a husband and wife team. He did the measuring, she did the designs. They had a bubble in tire on way to my appointment, and they were going to get it fixed. However, they choose to honor my appointment time. Sadly as they were pull on to the street, their tire popped. I really that they took the time to honor their appointment. She was so good, I did not know what I wanted. She came out several designs, and kept working with me until I was satisfied. They and the desk looks exactly like the furniture pieces in my home. The buffet made my room; it pulls our whole house together. It looks beautifully; and it looks like custom furniture in my house.

+ 0 moreWe talked to them and explained what we wanted done. I really was not sure it could be done in the space that I wanted it done in. He said "If I don't think it is good for your living space, I will tell you so", and that impressed me. The guys that come in and do it, they come in and they get the work done. I think they leave everything cleaner than when they found it. They installed the whole thing and then they wipe it down. But when they come in to do the work, they put the booties on, they lay down tarps so they do not walk on my floor. They were so neat. When they were done, they wiped everything down including the floor. You could eat off any surface after they were finished.
