ABC Locksmiths and ABC Towing has been in the security and roadside services for many years. We are proud Independent Contractors of AAA Emergency Roadside Services. We are LOCAL, and we carry all the necessary permits and licenses. We offer 24/7 emergency mobile locksmith and towing services. Our mission is "to do whatever it takes to make our customers happy. We are proud to announce a second office in Van Nuys in addition to our Las Vegas location. The addresses are as follows: Las Vegas - 3981 E. Sunset Rd. Suite E; Las Vegas, NV 89120. Description of Work: I have a touch pad entry lock that has never worked well. The tech basically said "this is from Home Depot, I can't work on it." He did work on the doorjam, but told me just to take the lock back to HD.

[member name removed], it's a common knowledge that if you don't have the programming code that comes with the lock, you won't be able to make it work!! Moreover, if the cost is $39, do you think it covered our technician's cost??? You can't find another company with exclusive contracts like ABC Locksmiths has, and all of our techs having a background check prior to hiring! We don't understand the rating. How could we be responsible for locks you have purchased somewhere else?

Description of Work: i already wrote up this review. they quoted an astronomical amount for a simple locksmith job on changing out a lock/key on a sliding door. I called someone else and although i couldn't get back the 28$ for the angies coupon, i did get the job done less by someone eles. and on top of it, they were unfriendly about it all!

Description of Work: Very very expensive. It's like they send in a salesman to pitch you the price and then once confirmed he leaves in a flash. $18 quote over the phone turned out to be over $125 per door. Unacceptable practices.

Response from ABC Locksmiths
When the locksmiths arrived at the homeowner's location, the existing locks were all under different keys (since they were all different brands and keyways). The homeowner wanted all locks to be the same key, hence, the locksmiths had to change the hardware in order to achieve that. The customer was given 4 choices: The first choice was to re-key the existing locks at $18/keyhole BUT that would have resulted at different keys again per door (because the locks were different keyways). The second choice was to replace locks with High-Security hardware. The 3rd choice was to replace the locks with Heavy-Duty hardware. The 4th choice was to replace the locks with Commercial Grade hardware.The customer choice the heavy-duty locks. He also initially did not want to change the lock on the side garage door but after talking to his wife on the phone, he asked the locksmiths to also change that door lock as well. The "salesman" (who is really a field supervisor) then left the house to go get some of the additional hardware needed. By delivering the locks within the hour, it allowed ABC Locksmiths to complete the job right there and then.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for this company, but was surprised to find the "service call" I'd purchased was just a visit to determining my locksmithing needs, not to perform anything. So I never used it; we changed the locks ourselves just this past weekend and it was easy. Therefore I can't really speak to the company's services, so I rated them "C" for average.

It is the standard for the locksmith industry to charge a service call or trip charge to bring a company van over to a customer's home or office. Please keep in mind that we offer complete mobile locksmith services thus our vans are equipped with everything needed to complete the job there and then, including all kinds of key duplicating machines, large inventory of parts, tools etc. hence we charge a minimal trip charge.

Description of Work: Including the $27.00 "Call fee" I spent $!90.00 on installation of a front door lock and a side door lock (I furnished this lock). The locksmith told me that the keypad code could not be changed to accommodate the new tenants, thus the lock had to be replaced. This was ridiculous although I did not know it at the time and believed his professional opinion. He put on a door knob (bathroom type) on my front door which is per other professionals and layman. When I called to complain, the company did not return my call for two days and then told me they had scheduled a return appointment and I would be charged a fee for coming out and the fee for another installation. I would NEVER USE this company again!
