A & E ROOFING

I purchased a roof inspection in a Big Deal on April 9. It is now May 1, and even though I contacted them, and Angie's List contacted them, I have not heard one word from this contractor. I am requesting my money back. If they cannot take the time to set up an appointment, or at least tell me they're busy, why should I waste any more of my time on them?

A & E Roofing contacted me within 12 hours of paying for their services and an appointment was immediately scheduled. Jack showed up two days later, right on time. Jack was a pleasure to work with and extremely thorough inspecting my roof. He took lots of pictures of my roof damage and explained what needed to be done. We agreed he would give me two separate estimates; one for repairing the damaged areas and another to replace the entire roof. Jack was upfront and honest about being busy and that paperwork was not his best quality. I ABSOLUTELY appreciated his honesty and was not surprised I did not receive the estimates right away. The following week I received both estimates, and unfortunately both estimates were out of my budget. (I'm newly divorced but still have to deal with my ex-husband when it comes to repairs on the house.) That's about it.

After putting up/taking down Christmas lights, we noticed several cracked/broken tiles on our roof (that we could see). I contacted A&E roofing to ask some questions about their tile roof tune up, then scheduled them to come out. Alfonso and another worker came out on time and replaced 5 broken tiles in several places on our roof and re-applied silicone to the flashing. They also checked over the roof for any other issues and found none.

Went well. He arrived on time and completed inspection promptly.

My husband took time off work to be there. The provider inspected the roof. We got the answer we expected; we need a new roof. The provider said he would provide a quote for a new roof. That was over a week ago and we haven't heard a thing. We won't be using this provider.

The service provider showed up, had no caulking, and wasn't even sure of everything included in the deal. He said he was tired, overworked, and his company was getting no money from Angie's List. He seemed neither willing nor able to do what was required to fulfill his part of the deal. We felt very uneasy and did not want to have any more to do with either him or his company.

After the tune up, we contracted A & E to conduct some more substantial repairs to our roof. This included re-roofing a section of the roof with composite shingles, installing and sealing new flashings and caps, cleaning all debris from the roof valleys and certifying the repairs with a 20 year warranty. Jack Lavin was the estimator and oversaw all repairs,. He delivered as promised and agreed to in a written contract. I found Jack to be a true many of his word.

They missed their appointment today but didn't call to let me know they wouldn't make it. I tried calling the office and the technician's cell phone and didn't get an answer from either.

Arrived on time. Inspected the roof. Replaced 3 broken tiles. At my request he inspected the roof mounted pool solar heater. Painted all roof vents and sealed as necessary. Cleaned the roof valley. Cleaned up after the service was completed.

This is not a coupon to use on large roofs, as there is a square footage limit. Check the fine print. They did though let us know that our roof needs a lot of repair work, and he took pictures. This was very helpful. We have a bid from the company and will probably get the work done, little by little as we can afford it.

The work performed was excellent. Jack kept me informed on all phases of the work.

It went very well. They came out to give an estimate, looked at problem areas. We scheduled an appointment, they came out completed the job. Everything looks good. Job well done. I highly recommend A&E Roofing.

Because they were busy and it took awhile. They did arrive on day promised and were very courteous and professional.

Deal was to inspect the roof and replace up to 50 shingles, with the cost of the shingles born by the Customer (me). They were extremely accommodating to my schedule and recognizing I was flying in from out of town to repair a rental, agreed to meet on a Saturday morning. After completing the inspection, he was able to replace a couple of cracked shingles right away. The shingles for the end of the peaks would need to be purchased and completed on Monday. I was also informed there would be an additional charge for those as they were a "repair". After some discussion, I agreed to pay an additional $300 (on top of the $149 Angies charge) to complete the replacement of those shingles. I'm sure some of that $300 was toward the purchase of the replacement shingles. The two man crew showed up on Monday on time and after further inspection, needed to go purchase the new concrete replacements. They returned after an hour and completed the work. I unfortunately had to catch a plane home and was unable to inspect the finished work though my tenant has informed me all looks good. So, dinging them a bit on the negotiation that had to occur and because I haven't had the chance to inspect their work myself yet (or see it through a rain/wind storm in Vegas). Since they were very accommodating on scheduling and quick to complete the work, I'd give them another shot at future repairs.

The service was excellent. They came out within a week after we purchased it. He was excellent. He did a lot of work, and he was here for a lengthy period of time.

Showed up on time, great attention to detail, cleaned up work area. Genuine concern for getting it right the first time.

I contacted the company by email and set up a time. Jack was right on time , a few minutes early actually. My roof is over thirty years old and had a lot of debris in the valleys. He found eight broken tiles in the first look. He said he probably had enough tiles in his truck to replace them at a cost of $20 each. He ended up spending five hours blowing debris off, sealing flashings, using silicone on some cracked tiles and replacing seven. He was surprised that the roof has lasted so long with no leaks and gave me a quote to replace it, which I will probably do later this year. I found him very knowledgeable and there was no mess left behind. I will most likely use this company when I replace the roof. I feel I got great value from this service.

An excellent job was done and tiles were replaced or identified to be replaced in the future. The immediate problem was completed at the time of the inspection and tiles were replaced at that time.

Jack arrived right on time explained the problem and he checked the roof out found two leaks where the tarpaper had cracked and made an arrangement to fix it. When they were repairing the leaks found another that they said was done when they built the house. All were fixed and guaranteed for 5 years. Took care of the rest of the roof and found no more problems. They even worked on Sunday as I was leaving on vacation on Monday. NO extra charge. I am vey happy with A&E roofing.

The man arrived on time: -placed the ladder to our roof -after about 30 minutes he spoke with my husband about what repairs were need -we had titles in our garage and he said they were the correct size to replace 6 titles -back up on roof we heard a lot of hammering -he used his blower to blow all the leaves baseballs, soccer ball etc from the roof -he used his blower to get rid of all the STUFF that had fallen in our yard and side walks -he did a great job!! Jack was very thorough and even took pictures to show me of the work he was talking about. He repaired seals and six broken tiles. He also provided me with an estimate of additional work needed to be done. All in all, I'm satisfied with the purchase of the deal ($149) plus the additional tile replacement ($60).

Jack was very professional and thorough. He removed tiles to check the felt under them. Replaced one tile missing from the garage roof. He was very punctual and gave us his quote to reroof/replace broken tiles.

Excellent work. Prompt, detailed, overall excellent work. Nice guys, hardworking.

He arrived on the scheduled time, and called prior to arrival. The work on the roof was done efficiently and included minor repairs and caulking of all vents. There were several loose cap tiles that were repaired and calked. Total time on site was 2.5 hours. The work area was clean and all residue was picked up and removed.

I would definitely use them again and highly recommend A & E Roofers
