I actually like them. They were super busy at the time that I bought the coupon. It probably increases their business. It took awhile for them to get the work done but they came out. He was super honest. He said that my roof was in good shape, which made me happy. He was really nice. He kept in touch with me. He did good work.

It went well. The company and workers were nice.

Went well. They took pictures and sent them to me, fixed the roof and gave me a 15 yr warranty on the front stoop.

He completed an inspection and I believe he also sealed some areas. He completed the work quickly. It a fine experience.

Given the price and the details of what needed to be done I wanted a second opinion. I called a second roofing company that was referred by a friend who is a home builder. They came and inspected. Their list of what needed to be done was the same! The difference was the price $500 instead of $1165. Too big of a difference for me to ignore!

A & E ROOFING was professional, punctual and provided great service. We had a an area of our roof that was leaking and needed to be repaired. A&E quickly responded to our request for information about their service and once they arrived they fully explained what repair work was needed and provided pictures. On July 28, 2014, they spent about an hour on our roof. The entire roof was inspected for broken tiles and tiles that had slipped from their original location. They reinstalled several roof tiles that had fallen off and reset the slipped tiles. They inspected and resealed all roof penetrations as necessary. Found an infestation of ants under a rake tile (roof edge) and recommended that they be removed and that the area in question be repaired. The quote for that was $465.00. We agreed to that price and on August 20, 2014, a two-man team arrived to do the work. They showed up on time and began work immediately. They removed the roof tile from the roof edge to a point approximately 36" to 48" inboard from the roof edge. They removed the flashing from an existing vent pipe and treated the infested area with insecticide. They cleaned the roof surface and installed new 30-lb. felt underlayment. They reinstalled the existing roof tile and new roof flashing at the vent penetration. They reseated and sealed the existing chimney cap. They painted all vents and flashings. They provided before-and-after photographs. The work is warrantied for five years. A day or so after the work was completed we had quite a heavy rain, and there were no leaks, so the work was obviously done correctly.

It was terrible. He came out to perform an estimate and it was VERY expensive. The cost was close to the cost of a brand new roof.

It went well. Two guys worked on the roof. They spent a long time but fixed everything that wad wrong.

Went well. He didn't have enough of the matching color tiles so he came back to ensure that the correct color tiles were replaced to coordinate with existing tiles. Very professional, courteous and timely.

I accepted your offer for a tile roof tune-up and selected the dates as you requested. You confirmed an appointment time at 10:00 on 7/23, but A&E messaged that they wanted to change the appointment time late the evening before. I agreed to the later time, sat at home waiting for them, but they did not show or try to contact me. He contacted me late that evening with a lame excuse and we rescheduled for the morning of 7/24. He did not show again, but came to my house on Friday 7/25 when I was not home. I'm done with them and want my money back. I've enjoyed Angie's List in the past and have found good contractors through it, but these offers and excessive contact from Angie's List will make me leave if they continue.

We will contract for future work when we can afford it.

A&E roofing, from my experience, is an excellent company. I bought the big deal (tile roof) and arranged for the inspection. When Jack showed up he completed the inspection (with photos) and we talked about a possible leak that had created a small stain in my ceiling over the past few years. He went above and beyond and even climbed through my attic to confirm the underside of the leak was at the roof. We then discussed the options and he provided me a bid to fix the roof. When the crew showed up they were very professional. There was even a supervisor who remained on the ground monitoring the team and ensuring they performed the work safely. I would definitely recommend A&E Roofing.

Jack was very professional and thorough when giving an estimate. He promptly emailed pictures and an estimate for the work. The crew arrived promptly and got to work immediately. They did a good job, cleaned up and made the whole project as easy as possible for us. They also provided pictures of the completed work so we could see how the roof looked before and after the work was done

The company was extremely prompt, professional and performed the work quickly.

After arrival Jack Lavin explained that he would inspect my roof, take pictures and provide an analysis of what was discovered. After the inspection, pictures were provided as well as an analysis of any issues. All minor issues were immediately repaired. Very satisfied with the work performed and Jack Levin was very personable,

Repairs were as described (though I did not get up on the roof to inspect). Guys were prompt and professional. Prices were higher than I would have expected given how little time it took and number of tiles involved. According to owner/manager part of the cost is associated with the scarcity of matching tiles. I thought they should have a much broader inventory, but I really don't know how much space would be involved in that... No rain since installed so don't know if any issues in that regard...

It was great. They came out a couple days later. they indicated that there might be some extra charges because I was missing some tiles. But they completed the work without charging me extra. It's my first time using them. They didn't come prepared to do the whole thing in one day but they seemed knowledgeable. I bought my house, a building inspector saw the problem and I called them out.

They were very nice. I appreciated the fact that they told me that they were too busy. A lot of companies would have taken the money and told me to wait.

As a person who believes in routine maintenance rather than waiting for an emergency, I scheduled the 149.00 roof inspection special. Jack arrived on time and thoroughly inspected roof. No problems found. Would definately recommend this company to friends and family. My peace of mind well worth the $149.00 cost.

We scheduled an appointment and the guy was a no call no show. I have called him an it goes to voice mail. I left him an email via angie's list and I have still not heard from him. He has my money and he or angies list are going to get me my money. This is the second time I have bought a "Big Deal" voucher and after they have your money you are no longer a priority. Big deals are big headaches.

They came and did an estimate. The estimate was suppose to include certain things. They said our house was larger than what was detailed in the deal. They were slow to respond. It was difficult to schedule. They partially completed the job. I’ve called them several times and didn't hear back.

A & E Roofing was very quick to respond to my purchase, however the service provided to me was not what it initially suggested. I thought the Big Deal covered replacing missing/loose shingles, fixing pieces of the roof, and just overall roof maintenance/inspection. Even if there was something wrong, I expected A & E Roofing to give me a write up so that I could present it to my insurance company. The roofing technician was only on my roof for roughly 10 minutes, and then he was ready to leave. I understand that A & E is a small company, but this Big Deal just did not cover what I expected it to.

We had had another roofer make this repair last year, but when it rained again (this is the desert so we don't get rain often, but it is impressive when it does rain), the roof still leaked. We didn't remember who had done the work and it had been a year, so we checked Angie's List and found Keith. He ran a hose on the roof, and made it leak. (Why hadn't the other roofer done this?) He repaired it since he had figured out the leak was not coming from the roof itself but from the connection to the second floor deck. It didn't work. He ran the hose, and it still leaked. So he took apart our inside ceiling and found that there was damage above the ceiling. In the next couple of weeks, he had a regular stream of people taking it apart and fixing everything. They would come and do something (always telling us what they were doing and showing us why they were doing it), and then leave it overnight to dry before doing the next thing. He was an absolute professional. It hasn't rained yet, but the extensive test with the hose has shown that the repair was made. And he cleaned up everything. Refinished everything. And when he removed a cat perch on the windowsill, it was damaged. He replaced the broken part and reassembled the whole room. In other words, this time the problem is almost certainly solved.

I called the main office asking for help. When strong winds blew, there was a terrible noise on my roof that I was unable to identify. I felt I needed professional help from someone who could safely explore my roof. Jack Lavin answered the phone. We discussed my problem and he said he would be glad to check it for me. He was out to my house the same afternoon. He met my 3P test for contractors: he was prompt, polite, and professional. He spent quite a length of time up on the roof carefully inspecting for possible sources of the noise. He found it because of his experience. It was some loose tiles that had slipped away from some flashing. My roof is over 20 years old. There were also many cracked tiles. While on the roof, Jack took photos of all the damage. When he quoted the amount needed to do the repairs, I felt it was very fair and agreed to the work. The next day, the repairman Brian and his helper did the repairs. Both were very polite and professional. I have been very pleased with my experience with this company. I feel the repairs were done promptly and at a very fair price. I would recommend this company to anyone.
