hose line leaked, had to call him back to replace a hose that suepposedley state of the art best new thing. Will never use this service again.
Description of Work: Removed old toilet and replaced with new one and said his charge was normally 225.00, but he would charge me only 200.00 ( showed me a photo copy of services/scale chart) which seemed to me an alternate service charge. I payed 30.00 dollars for a 6inch which I could have bought for 6.00.

Unfortunately the supply line you currently had was not long enough to reach the toilet you had purchased. It was unfortunate that the new steal supply line had a manufacture defect that we were not able to notice at time of installation but we did promptly return to replace with no charge at all under our warranty. Yes the part could have been purchased for less than $30 but that cost includes our markups, and warranties with it. We also did not charge anything for replacing the part. Initial contact after purchase was within 1 day and service scheduled at my convenience. Arrival was right on time and he called when he was on the way. Casey had to cut drywall backed be plywood (two hour garage fire wall) to expose the existing plumbing stubs. He then connected the drain and hot and cold water to the existing utility sink with faucet. He also mounted the sink to the wall with provided hardware, and caulked the sink back splash. Casey supplied all the required plumbing fittings except the faucet. The work required two hours. I purchased an Angie's List $79 special for two hours of labor valued at $200. The total cost was $700. The final cost was $500 after the $200 labor credit. Casey was courteous and professional. He arrived on time, worked nearly noiselessly, and cleaned up the work area before leaving.
Description of Work: Casey connected an existing utility sink and faucet to existing plumbing stubs in the immediately adjacent wall.

First off, let me go over the good. The technician was great. Super nice guy, knew his stuff, and was very understanding of everything. The issues are with the company itself, which is why I would urge folks to avoid using them in the future. First off, on the blower motor itself, they quoted me a price of $875, which I believe included the price of a new capacitor. Knowing nothing about replacement prices and knowing the reputation this company has on Angie's List, I assumed that was a fair price. It's not. They'll say it is, of course, but it isn't. Whether it's the motor costing me almost $500 when it costs $200 for them or the labor costing almost $400 for what would've been a couple hours of work, it would appear that this company's modus operandi is to take their customers for all their worth. (And I fully appreciate that the company is in the business to make money. I don't fault them for that. But there's a fine line between respecting your customers and taking them for a ride. This strayed toward the latter.) But even that wouldn't have been enough for me to write a particularly negative review. It's what actually occurred on the final invoice that really got me. The technician arrived at around 12:20. He wrapped up his initial diagnostic at 1:15. He then left to get the motor and came back at 2:30. (Not sure why it took more than an hour to pick up the motor, but again, the technician seemed like a genuine person and I assume there's a lot of overhead to get the part or that the supply store is half an hour away or a combination of both.) About 10 minutes later, at 2:40, I told him I was going to have someone else come to do the diagnostic and the service tomorrow because they quoted me a price, including labor, that was half of Sunrise's quoted price. Plus they agreed to do the second opinion for free. So the technician called the office and I assume his boss wasn't happy because it took 20 minutes to work up an invoice and it looked like he was getting chewed out on the phone when I came out to get my invoice. And at this point, everything really went south. Sunrise charged me $85 for the service call and $255 for 3 hours of labor, which I paid because clearly these guys need the money more than I do. But I asked the technician why I was charged for labor while he was doing the diagnostic? Was the diagnostic $85 + labor? Because I was never told that. I was told $85 for the diagnostic. In fact, the technician had originally written down 1.5 hours of labor, which would make a ton of sense. No labor for the diagnostic and 1.5 hours of labor getting the part, coming back, and putting everything back together upstairs on my HVAC. But no. His boss wanted labor for the diagnostic, labor for getting the part and coming back, labor for putting everything back together upstairs, and labor for arguing on the phone for 20 minutes with his technician about how much to charge me. The only explanation I can come up with is that the boss was p***** that I decided not to use them for the motor replacement and they were trying to get as much as possible out of me. And if money is that much more important to your company than your customers, then go ahead take mine, because I think that's disgusting. Maybe I had a bad experience. It looks like lots of other people have had a lot of success with them as their HVAC providers, so I can't speak to the general performance of this company. But my experience working with Sunrise was just about as awful an experience as I've ever had from a service provider.

I remember this call, we did diagnose the problem because, that is the “Service” we provide, we always give a quote for the needed repair prior to doing any other work. At this point the charges would have been minimal. But, the customer agreed to have our technician go to the parts supplier to obtain an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer ) replacement motor and return to do the needed repair. When our tech returned, the customer decided not to go ahead with the repair so, Yes… I did instruct our technician to bill for the time he spent on this particular job since, this entire process was set in motion by the customers decision. I feel our prices are right in line with our competition, who have similar overhead expenses. This particular customer wanted our technician to leave the OEM motor so, he could have someone else do the work but, I declined that request since, we do not sell parts, we provide a “SERVICE” and do a fine job at that! I realize we cannot satisfy everyone in every way but, we try very hard to do the right thing and have satisfied many customers over the years. Our prices are what they are because, we must provide insurances for our technicians, vehicles, and place of business to operate, we also have to warranty our SERVICES and provide gas and maintain our vehicles and equipment. We also have to pay our qualified technicians who have gone to school to learn this trade a competitive wage. Forgive me if this sounds as though I am making excuses, I’m not… this is just the reality of what it takes to operate and remain in this SERVICE business of ours. Here is food for thought… It costs approximately .14 cents for the ingredients to make a box of Corn Flakes yet, we as consumers shell out upwards of $5.00 for that box of cereal, the mark up on that seems to be pretty high to me but, I will keep on buying it because, I like it… and because of that and others who do the same, this bowl of goodness will likely be around for my kids and grandchildren for years to come. Here is my point… I don’t have to pay for schooling to learn how to eat that bowl of cereal nor, do I have to climb a ladder to a roof top or attic and risk falling to eat it and I have never heard of any bowl of cereal that electrocuted or cut off any ones hand while eating it! These are just some of the hazards those who are working in our industry are exposed to on a daily basis. I respect the opinion of others and have an open mind as well but, I do not agree with uneducated, irrational and biased opinions of those who have no clue what it takes to own and operate a “SERVICE” business and have no problem with pointing a negative finger in our direction. I accept this persons review and only hope that something I said will positively affect the opinion this person has towards our company and the SERVICE industry in general. called, would hang up on you. It would say please hold for the next operator and then it says thank you for calling and it hangs up on you. I called back during business hours and left a message on an answering machine. I did not receive a call back on Tuesday or Wednesday. Having a two year old and a pregnant wife, I needed to get the AC fixed (92 degrees in the house and rising). I attempted to call this company again and again, the emergency answering system continued to hang up on me. I called another company who came out and looked at the unit. I was told the compressor was done. The job would cost me $996 in labor fees since the part was still under warranty by the manufacturer. The other company said that for a brand new ac unit like this, there should not be any issues with the compressor and it was probably damaged when installed. The other company even said that because of this unique issue I should try one more time to get in touch with this company and see if they would help, considering the problem and how new the ac unit was. Today, Thursday 9-4-14, I called and was transferred to Jan who is in charge of handling the American West communities. I explained the situation and she basically called me a liar. She said there was no problems with the phone system; that they received messages from it the past couple of days. Then she told me that sometimes when ac units are put in, the same day the compressors breaks. I again explained that I have a 2 year old and a pregnant wife and asked if there was anything we can do to work something out. I did not think it was fair to pay full labor for a brand new unit only 6 months out of home builders warranty. She said there was nothing they can do, that it would cost me over $1200 to fix it, and she offered to transfer me to her supervisor. The supervisor, Duncan, tried to tell me that the compressor was my fault because I didn't contract them to come and perform their 23 point maintenance inspection. He also told me that the answering system did work, suggesting numerous times that I must have been calling the wrong number. I offered to send him my ATT phone bill to prove the amount of times I called. He laughed this off. I explained that because of their phone service I had to spend $50 on a service call to find out that a brand new ac unit has a bad compressor. He said he would see what he can do and would call me back. He basically cut me off every time I tried to explain my situation. He eventually called me back 20 minutes later to confirm that there indeed was a problem with their phone service. He never offered an apology after both he and Jan basically called me a liar. He said the deal he could make for me would cost me $850 in labor. By the way, the other professional company offer to price match and give me a further discount and even went so far as to guarantee labor and any other problems for 1 year after. This is on top of the parts 5 year warranty. Needless to say I am going with the other company. Just a warning to everyone, this is a highly unprofessional company from Jan all the way to the supervisor Duncan. I was never offered an apology, never spoken to like a valued customer, and was pretty much accused of being a liar as if I was trying to get over on them. I find it hard to believe that such a major problem for an ac unit so new would occur, let alone cause me and my family to suffer and led to me being spoken to and treated the way I was. I highly recommend looking else where for ac unit companies.
