Description of Work: Ben has been my go-to guy for general handyman services since I bought my house two years ago. He is consistently professional and helpful.

Description of Work: We have used Stone Ridge Repair Services for at least 5 different jobs. Helping us remodel a foreclosure purchase, new plumbing, new flooring installation and even a broken / leaking anti-siphon valve after the winter freeze. Ben is incredibly reliable, great prices and a pleasure to work with. I trust his judgment and the quality of his work. I have 3 more projects around the house and I'm calling him first. Thanks!

Description of Work: Both the master bath and guest bath electrical outlets were not working and one light in the master bath was also not working. I checked every GFI I had--one in the kitchen and one in the garage and neither had been tripped. I also checked the circuit breaker and none of those had been tripped. Not wanting to call an electrician if it was something easy, I called a friend who's husband is an electrical engineer and had rewired their house. He came over and using various tools and gadgets and meters, checked both electrical outlets, the GFIs, and the circuit breaker. He then told me that somewhere between the circuit breaker and the electrical outlets, there may be a short and since he couldn't trace the problem, I would have to call a professional electrician. Not knowing who to call, I asked friends and coworkers for recommendations, then joined Angies List. My boss had recommended Ben of Stone Ridge and I looked him up here. Although there weren't any recommendations for his electrical work, my boss spoke highly of him, so I called and scheduled an appointment. I'm glad I did! Ben called about 10 minutes before the appointment to let me know he was on his way and he arrived on time--something I definitely appreciated. I had explained the problem over the phone and when Ben arrived I explained again and let him know that my friend's husband had checked everything. Ben confirmed no electricity to the two plugs and asked where the GFIs were. I showed him both of them. He then checked ever plug we had in the house and found two others that were not working (since I didn't have anything plugged into them, I didn't realize they weren't working). He asked me again if there were any other GFIs and I told him no. He said that based upon so many outlets being out and the circuit breaker not being tripped, that there must be another GFI somewhere. I had been living in the house for 15 years and only knew of the two and had never seen any others. We then set about searching each room looking behind furniture and didn't find any other GFI. In the garage, the GFI was on one wall, so he started searching the other walls. Sure enough, behind some storage shelving units--another GFI! After resetting it, Ben checked the outets and they were all working once again. I had visions of having something serious wrong with the electrical system in the house and it turns out my problem wasn't so bad after all thank goodness. It took an hour of searching to find that GFI, but at least I now know where it is.
