It was our lucky day when we found Silver Desert Handyman through Angie's list. Rudy and Lee will be returning in September , our first year anniversary, to replace our smoke alarm batteries, which is the first job they did for us. Our list of future projects is growing and we know we can count on their outstanding performance.

07.23.2013 The two Silver Desert handymen arrived promptly at 7AM, but I quickly realized that neither one of them were having a good morning. Rudy later told me that Leigh had a pacemaker and was not well. Rudy, himself was tense and negative. He informed me that he had a bad back. He actually lit up a cigarette in my garage without asking permission. Granted the garage door was open, but with 3 motorcycles and a propane tank nearby I was alarmed by this. My first task would be installation of a ?Monkey Bar? wall mounted bicycle rack inside my garage. The instructions claim easy installation of 15 minutes total. However, Rudy and Leigh determined that such installation would not be recommended. Instead, they proposed a ceiling mounted retrofit of the rack with the following work and materials estimated: Fabrication of two ceiling brackets $45.00 each Installation of bicycle rack $80.00 As they began to install, I asked if they had not factored in the pipes jutting out of the wall below where the bicycles would need to hang down. Once I pointed this out they agreed that would not have worked and they changed the position of the rack. I then realized that I needed to keep an eye on the project in progress. When I revisited the project a little later, the rack was clearly installed unevenly with the two fabricated brackets on the left and the center. It looked as though one was missing on the right and not level so I assumed the job was not complete. Rudy insisted that it was structurally sound as it was and due to location of ceiling studs that was how it must be done. I told him that I did not think it would look good to post a photo of this completed job on Angie?s List, nor would I be happy to see it remain this way. He appeared frustrated and uncertain of what to do next, but then he agreed that he was not happy with it himself. When I reviewed his next attempt it was much better and I accepted the work as satisfactory. Since the bike rack proved to be a frustration for the two, Leigh went to work on the stucco patching of a series of nail holes. Had I known that painting would not be done afterward, I would have opted to leave the nail holes as they were less noticeable before patching. A motorcycle was moved directly in front of the new bike rack so that the bikes were not accessible for use. When I asked to rearrange this, it was clear that the men were done and I was being left on my own for rearranging my garage. This proved to be very inconvenient because I then had items out of place which were previously located where the new bike rack went. Rudy informed me that he did not wish to do more work for me and that it was best to square up and part ways. He claimed that he did not like my ?tone? and that he was made to feel like my trainee. Again, he stated that he had a bad back and his partner had a bad heart so they prefer not to work for me. Earlier I heard Rudy mention a very big job they had coming up that would make them very busy. I asked him if that would have any bearing on them doing my work and he claimed that it would not. Had I known up front that the tasks would not be completed, I would not have taken so much time with the pair. I certainly would not have agreed to stucco patching without paint touch ups nor would I have allowed my garage to be made more crowded instead of less crowded! In all fairness, I did remind the contractor that photos of his work with a report is customary for me to do for all contractors. The review allows credit for a job well done as well as accountability to take further pride in the completed work. Apparently, the contractor was not proud of his work and reminding him of his accountability to Angie's list made him uncomfortable. Until he was reminded, he was content to leave the unsatisfactory rack in place and leave. Since he takes pride in his work and the review process means something to him, he revised his work until satisfactory to himself and customer. This is why customers rely on Angie's List! Both men were well aware of the work being asked of them during the estimate visit. Unfortunately neither of the two felt well at the time they were to do the job. Therefore, they declined to complete what they originally agreed to do. That was disappointing because I thought I could rely on them so I did not seek another contractor.

Provider arrived early and took my gate off and took it back to his shop. They replaced the entire bottom metal bar and painted it to match. Then returned to reinstall the gate. Took 4 hours in the shop for repair. Very nice guy. I would definitely recommend him!

I made an appointment with Rudolf and he came to my house on time with his fellow worker Lee just two days later. They took measurements and after two days, I received the estimated price for installation of the veneer stone for my exterior wall and support column. It took 7 days to get the material they ordered to come in. They installed the stone in two days. I was very satisfied with the quality. It is hard to find people that do good work and charge a reasonable price for it, like Rudolf does.

I have used him multiple times over the last year. They have a lot of big jobs they do but I only need smaller jobs like changing batteries in my smoke detector. They have done a lot of these type of jobs like that for me. Every time they come they are always prompt and professional. It is hard to find someone to come out and do a smaller job but they do and they are always great to work with.

They did a good job even though it was a first time for them to do these types of work and the tub removal was a very tight spot. They kept at the job to make it well done. They were pleasant professional and responsive to ideas.

It was good. They were very friendly and professional. I was pleased overall. He was informative and helpful. He did a lot of variety. I would recommend them.

As expected, Rudolf did another superb job. He was on time and fully prepared to perform the work at hand. He completed the job in a timely manner, with no nuisance to my tenants or interruption to their businesses. The security gates with their new steel mesh look great, and they will definitely protect the building's electrical vault from vandals. This is the second job in one week that Rudolf has performed for me, and it will not be the last! I make the highest recommendation without reservation.

Rudy is terrific. It went very well. When he doesn't feel that he can provide the more detailed work such as repairing our broken fans and complicated plumbing, he doesn't waste our time- he just refers us to somebody else with that expertise, which I think is professional and appropriate.

It went flawlessly! Rudolf was punctual for the initial meeting and job walk. He is courteous, respectful and displays a professional manner. He kept me updated via text messaging regarding the status of the job, and met the agreed-upon deadline. My tenant and I are extremely satisfied with the work he performed. I will be utilizing his handyman services at my commercial property in the future. In addition, I will recommend his services to other property managers. Rudolf is a consummate professional who performs superlative work. I make the highest recommendation without reservation.

The work he did was fine but he didn’t bring a ladder so he didn’t get everything done that we wanted.

For my gate repairs Rudy showed up on schedule and quoted me a very good price. The work was completed on schedule and with very high quality. The second job had three separate tasks, and Rudy showed up with two additional workers so that teh whole job could be completed in a couple of hours. In both cases Rudy offered suggestions on how teh job could be done in a better way that I suggested.

Rudy is meticulous and experienced. He monitors his team's work closely and is very responsive. We have been very pleased with every job Rudy has completed for us. He's honest, dedicated, dependable, timely and professional. This is our handyman company for the foreseeable future.

These guys did a good job and were prompt. They did have to return a couple day after the initial visit due to the size of one of the holes and needing more drying time.

I would use their services again in the future.

showed up on time. Rudy and a helper went right to work. good attitude and asked how we wanted things done and did it. They did the jobs we had ask for in the order of importance to us but they got everything done. also hired him to come back to do another job. very helpful when you can't do jobs yourself. Put in more time than was originally paid for and didn't charge extra.

He is very professional and does great work. He uses quality equipment and is very nice and pleasant to work with. I plan to use him for future projects.

This is an excellent vendor. I called for an estimate to repair a wrought iron fence with privacy screen on a retaining wall in my back yard about 15 ft. above my lot. The repair person looked at the job, made some suggest fixes, and we agreed it a breaks in the railing shoud be re-welded. He said as long as he was here, if I had a ladder, he could fix it immediately. We agreed on the price, I provided a couple of ladders and he completed the job, using a wire feed welder and reattaching the privacy screen, adding extra screws. He cleaned up his welds with a ginder, and gave the whole repaired area a primer coat and a coat of Rust Oleum.He was polite, professional, and did excelelnt work. i would recommend him to anyone.

how many times do I have to tell you I didn't use this service

Rudy and assistant arrived to fix the drywall holes that were opened from plumbing leak.That job required another area to be opened and repaired too. While they were here awaiting areas to dry, I had them replace drywall where the electrician opened up holes to replace lights in 2 bathrooms. They also did re-caulking of my crown moulding, repaired a couple things in my garage and moved some furniture for me. This is the second time I have called Rudy to do things for me. He is now getting estimates for doing brickwork and backyard lighting for me.
