Hector Juarez Construction

Hector signed on to take over for a DIY project that we did not realize was going to be so much work stripping and repainting our banisters. He gave us a low bid and seemed like a very nice guy, so we had no hesitation booking him for the project. Before starting the project, he already informed us that it was going to cost more than we had agreed on because he had to clean up some left behind debris told him that it was fine for that instance, but that we needed to discuss any future price jumps because of our limited budget. Here is where the real frustration began: I had been the one to set up the project with him but I was out of town for the days that he was doing it, with my husband checking in to monitor progress. Immediately we noticed that he had not done what we had discussed, but instead was taking some shortcuts and leaving work that we would have to re-do later. When my husband pointed this out, Hector claimed that I had not told him how the project needed to be done. After he finished, my husband and I walked through the house and found that Hector had managed to splatter white paint onto every wall and floor surface in the house, including the hardwood floors. In addition, there was a layer of dust coating everything. We met with Hector together the next day and I was firm that we HAD discussed expectations, and that these did not meet them. He agreed to come back and touch up the walls where the paint was splattered, and to clean up the splatters on the floor. He did come back, but only touched up one wall and did not clean the floors. All in all, he has created much more work for us than we would have had to do if we had just completed the DIY project ourselves. It is frustrating because he is a very nice guy and seems eager to please, but it is clear that in this case he did not know what he was doing.

Mr. Juarez came out and was able to repair the damage to the laundry room wall within hours. This was done with expertise and professionalism, before our new washing machine was delivered, eliminating the need to have to pull the machine out to make the repair after installation. The texture matched and was painted before he left. I would recommend this company to others and will be using him for other projects.
